Chapter 364: Chapter 53: Heroic King

In the dark cave.

Countless rats, in a dense swarm, charged and met their deaths against the shield wall.

Prajna knelt on one knee, her palm pressed against the ground. These shields are avatars of the Ghost Face Shield, and the impact from them was transferred to her.

Such a vast defense was undeniably a massive burden for Prajna.

Through the semi-transparent shield, Losa could see the Demon-breaking Blade that Anna had conjured, already with a howling wind, fiercely slashing towards the direction of the massive female form.

At the instant the Demon-breaking Blade descended.

Long hair of the female form swayed in the wind, she lifted her head, eyes opened, revealing a pair of blazing golden pupils.

Despite the Demon-breaking Blade about to slice her face, her gaze remained calm and unwavering, merely lifting an arm to resist.

The Demon-breaking Blade effortlessly sliced through her arm, continuing its downward path.

However, her flesh split in two, astonishingly, writhing as if alive, desperately entangling the Demon-breaking Blade. On closer inspection, they clearly were partially-formed rat heads, constantly gnawing at the Blade.

This powerful magic, specifically used against Legendary Tier Wizards, was temporarily halted, its brilliance fading. By the time it reached the female form’s shoulder, it was completely ensnared by the writhing flesh, soon dissipating into nothing.

The seemingly unscathed female form continued to look calmly at Anna.

A trace of shock flashed across Anna’s face. Although she hadn’t expected a single Demon-breaking Blade to eliminate the Source of the Plague, the ease of her defense still unsettled Anna.

She immediately began chanting her second prepared spell—Meteor Fire Rain.

But the female form’s counterattack quickly followed.

She extended a finger in the direction of the group.

Half of the seemingly endless rat swarm in the cave burst into black ashes, which swept through the black shield wall, passing in front of the group like an intangible substance.

Losa felt an intense itch in his throat.

He instinctively started coughing.

The coughing was heart-wrenching and unstoppable.

It felt like countless tiny insects were gnawing at his lungs, making him desperately want to open his chest and scratch his lungs violently.

Blood trickled down the corner of his mouth.

He raised his hand to wipe the blood, only to find large patches of black pustules on his arm.

"Black Death?"

Losa’s eyes were filled with horror; the Dragon Bloodline’s resistance to disease far exceeded that of ordinary humans.

Such a terrifying plague, yet he couldn’t escape it?

Behind him, Eve began coughing as well. She tried to chant a spell to raise a magic shield, but the coughs interrupted her after just a few words.

This meant Eve could not cast any spells other than a few that required no incantations, including the Earth Travel Technique that brought them in.

Furin showed no reaction, quickly coming to Losa’s side to support him.

"Sir, are you okay?"

"I... can still hold on."

Losa tried to stand upright: "Go take care of Eve; she’s our ticket out. She mustn’t get into trouble."

Prajna displayed no signs of the disease either. She and Furinjira—one a Ghost Race and the other a Vampire—were not human, while the Dragon Descendant was merely a mortal with dragon blood inheritance.

As for Chelina, Losa no longer saw her figure.

Chelina was only half Werewolf and could be susceptible too.

Suppressing his worries, Losa looked at Anna, the absolute powerhouse of the team, who was coughing violently. She took out a bottle of crimson potion from her pocket, but after just two sips, she coughed out most of it.

And just then.

The female form’s second counterattack arrived.

Her entire arm suddenly severed, transforming into a seemingly living filthy blood river, with blood-red rats occasionally emerging but not fully formed.

The blood river reached the black shield wall in an instant.

Prajna’s body trembled, and black spots began to rapidly grow on her exposed fair skin.

The faces on the shield wall contorted silently in anguish.

Yet, the female form’s attack seemed far from finished.

Losa knew they couldn’t let her continue, and he saw the dragon core treasure on his chest, embedded in the cross sword, emitted a scorching red light.

Faintly, people could hear the sound of waves around them.

It was the Dragon Bloodline within Losa galloping and flowing.

Centered around the heart, black triangular scales quickly covered his entire body.

Upon Half-Dragon Transformation, Losa immediately felt the itching in his throat reduced to a negligible level.

He leaped out of the shield wall’s defense, and while still in mid-air, he spread the dragon wings on his back, using them to glide towards the female form at the bottom of the cliff.

The female form looked at Losa with the same calm gaze, and the finger that had been pointing at the people inside the shield wall immediately pointed at Losa.

The terrifying pressure was like being submerged under ten thousand fathoms, causing his slowly descending body to crash into the ground.

Countless rats swarmed towards where Losa had fallen.

Soon, the earth cracked.

Scorching lava erupted from the fissures.

The rat swarm, before even reaching Losa, was caught off guard and plunged into the cracks, ignited by the intense heat into blazing torches.

Losa crawled out from beneath the ground.

Behind him, a phantom image of a demon dragon slowly materialized, slimmer than before when he seized the "Destiny Black Dragon’s" phantom.

Its size was even larger than a female body; had most of it not been hidden in the mountain rock, the plaza beneath the cliff wouldn’t have been able to fully contain it.

Losa’s clothes were completely destroyed during the transformation. He lifted his head, scrutinizing the residue left behind by this Legendary Witch, and then opened his mouth.

In his mouth, full of sharp teeth, terrifying flames were condensing.

The Dragon Core Treasure on his chest, after amplifying its effect, poured all stored power into Losa’s body.

The dual volcanic divinity caused large cracks to appear across the plaza beneath his feet.

The ground in the center rose high, seemingly about to trigger a volcanic eruption.

The female body seemed truly devoid of consciousness, as her face showed no emotion upon witnessing this scene.

She silently opened her hands, recalling the Filthy Blood River used to corrode the shield wall, and condensed a smooth, blood-colored shield in front of her.

Boom!

The scorching Breath of the Giant Dragon gushed forth.

At this moment, the power of Losa’s dragon breath clearly surpassed the original Tyrannical Dragon, effortlessly piercing through the shield of the female body.

Cave ceiling.

Flaming meteors conjured by magic began to appear as Anna, having briefly freed herself from the burden of disease through a magic potion, cast her most powerful, wide-scale destructive magic.

She realized the weakness of the female body.

The female body wasn’t a living wizard, merely a modified corpse.

Even if only a piece of flesh remained, it could potentially regenerate; the limited range of the Demon-breaking Blade, although increasing damage to magic creatures tenfold, had very limited effect on her.

To destroy, it must be complete destruction!

Leaving not a single piece of flesh.

The Meteor Fire Rain fell with a roar, crashing onto the female body’s form and igniting a towering blaze on her surface.

The terrifying high heat caused Furinjira’s hair to start curling.

After a while.

Losa sat weakly on the ground.

His body had returned to its original form, disregarding modesty, he looked towards where the female body lay.

The Meteor Fire Rain continued.

Anna’s Spiritual Power far exceeded Losa’s, reaching at least a thousand points, and with full output, the Meteor Fire Rain lasted a full five minutes before ending.

At this point, the originally sacred female body had already become a massive chunk of charcoal.

But Losa and the others knew she wasn’t dead yet.

The intense heartbeat sounded like drums on a battlefield; with each beat, her feeble life force inside grew stronger.

Despair flashed across Anna’s face.

Is this the residue of a Legendary Wizard? Even if only a body remains, it’s something she cannot destroy despite her all-out effort.

At this moment.

A meteor-like shadow flashed across the air.

A brilliant cross sword light slashed through the chest of the female body.

The originally intense heartbeat ceased abruptly.

Chelina landed steadily, a streak of blood at the corner of her mouth, her expression calm as she looked at Losa.

"Mission accomplished, sir."

Losa’s tense mood instantly relaxed.

In his ears, the system notification sounded repeatedly.

With the system’s notification sound, Losa saw many things before him.

He saw an elder walking, then suddenly collapsing to the ground without warning.

He saw doctors wearing bird mask pushing carts filled with bodies to the outskirts for burning.

He saw a child huddled in his mother’s embrace crying for hunger, unaware that his mother’s body had already become rigid.

He opened his eyes and sighed lightly.

Luckily, none of this happened.
