Drama Queen Reborn as a Top Student!-Chapter 711 - 304 Killing Intent Simmers_2
Lan Xiping saw through the rearview mirror that not far behind their car, a van was tailing them, always maintaining the same distance.
Shen You’an said lazily, "Let’s see what you’re made of."
The driver was a young man, dressed very stylishly. Just how stylish? He had four or five silver rings on his ears, just looking at them made your own ears ache. His blue-gray hair was streaked with cherry blossom pink highlights, looking more vibrant than a color palette.
The young man had a rather attractive face, with bronzed skin, sharp eyebrows, and a cool demeanor. He exuded a rogue yet handsome charm—the kind girls loved most.
Upon hearing Shen You’an’s words, the young man laughed heartily, moving the bangs that covered half of one eye with his right hand on the wheel. "Me, Brother Shanbao, am the undisputed number one god of racing in the circle. Who dares to race me? Isn’t that just seeking death?"
He had a bit of a childish streak, having been obsessed with gang movies during his youth. He even gave himself the nickname "Brother Shanbao," imitating the characters from those films. But his racing talent was undeniable—he still held the record in the underground racing circuit.
His real name was Li Ku, a perfect match for his "cool guy" persona. Racing was just a hobby; his true identity was as a member of PT, working under "Danhuang."
Li Ku whistled, his excitement shining through, and pushed the gas pedal, speeding up the car.
The van followed closely behind.
Shen You’an reminded him, "Watch the intersection."
"Don’t worry, boss. Since you’re sitting in my car without a care, it means you’re entrusting your life to me. No matter what monsters or demons come our way, Brother Shanbao will show you what a true racing god looks like."
Lan Xiping couldn’t help but grab the handle above her head.
What followed was a real-life "Fast and Furious" chase, the two cars playing a game of pursuit and escape.
As they approached a curve, Li Ku narrowed his eyes and deliberately slowed the car down. Just as the van was about to rear-end them, he performed a stunning drift around the bend. The van was caught off guard and heavily crashed into the roadside guardrail.
The van’s front was severely damaged, smoke billowing from the vehicle, and two people clumsily crawled out of it.
Li Ku smugly looked away from the rearview mirror.
Up ahead was a T-junction. The road sign indicated that going straight led to the airport, while turning right led to the highway entrance. The right turn had express lanes, eliminating the need to wait for green lights.
The destination was the airport. The light was red for going straight, so Li Ku stopped at the intersection, waiting for the light.
With about ten seconds left on the red light timer, Li Ku casually asked, "Boss, when are you coming to Jingzhou next?"
After all, only by sticking with the boss could he get to drive such great cars—the exclusive custom models from the Feilian Group, all top-of-the-line. He had never driven anything this good in his entire life.
The light turned green, and Li Ku stepped on the accelerator, kicking off with a power that surpassed even his modified cars.
As they passed through the intersection, a sudden change occurred—a large oil tanker barreled out from the right, heading straight toward their black sedan. The situation was critical; compared to the massive tanker, the black car was like a kitten that could be crushed into bits in an instant.
Lan Xiping turned her head, her wide eyes reflecting the enormous force heading their way, like dark clouds pressing down on a city. For an instant, fear took over, her entire body breaking into goosebumps.
"Sunny..." Lan Xiping cried out in panic, twisting to look back.
The teenager in the back seat sat quietly, his expression free of any trace of fear. His piercing blue eyes shone brilliantly.
Li Ku, on the contrary, let out an excited laugh, his grip on the steering wheel calm and steady.
As the oil tanker was about to collide, Lan Xiping’s heart leapt into her throat. In that instant, it felt like the entire world had come to a halt.
The tires screeched sharply against the pavement, emitting an ear-piercing sound. The black sedan spun in place, its tires carving out a fan-shaped arc on the ground, perfectly avoiding the incoming tanker. Sparks flew as the two vehicles brushed against one another in reverse directions.
The tanker lost control, crashing through the roadside guardrails, barreling onto the opposite lane and then out into a grassy field before finally coming to a stop.
The black sedan pulled over to the side of the road. Li Ku’s face was flushed, his eyes shining with sheer excitement.
Lan Xiping pushed open the car door and ran to the roadside, vomiting profusely.
Li Ku poked his head out of the car window and mocked her, his tone laced with disdain: "That scared you already? Tsk, not up to par."
Lan Xiping continued to throw up while extending her right hand and giving him a big thumbs-up.
Li Ku hadn’t exaggerated; his driving skills were godlike.
That earlier moment—if it had been a regular driver, they would have ended up as roadkill under the tanker’s wheels.
A top-notch driver not only needed extraordinary skills but also required exceptional reaction time and composure in moments of sudden peril. Li Ku had demonstrated all of this perfectly.
Sunny had been absolutely wise to choose him as the driver.
Shen You’an got out of the car, crossing the road and jumping over the guardrail to approach the tanker.
Smoke was still rising from the vehicle, with a looming risk of explosion at any moment.
"It’s dangerous," Lan Xiping shouted, running after him.
"Drag her back into the car," Shen You’an ordered coldly.
Li Ku quickly yanked Lan Xiping back. "Don’t add to the mess, get back in the car now."
After stuffing Lan Xiping into the car, Li Ku scanned their surroundings vigilantly.
This car crash was clearly a human setup, and who knew if there were snipers lying in wait nearby?
Shen You’an pulled the driver out of the tanker, dragging him to a safer distance from the vehicle.
The driver’s face was covered in blood, his breathing weak and shallow.
He lay in the snow like a pile of lifeless sludge.
Shen You’an planted a foot firmly on the driver’s chest, his smile laced with menace. "Stop pretending."
The driver coughed weakly and opened his eyes slowly.
"Who sent you?"
The driver’s gaze was hazy as if he couldn’t understand what Shen You’an was asking.
"Yu Ruohuan?"
The driver weakly closed his eyes.
"She’s even more foolish than I thought."
Shen You’an had clearly overestimated Yu Ruohuan. Amos wasn’t someone she could toy with as she pleased like others from her past. Her father must have warned her, yet she still acted recklessly, so eager to make a kill.
Impulsive, arrogant, absolutely idiotic.
Facing opponents like this was just tedious.
"Go back and tell her: I’m not the forgiving type. Have her wash her neck and wait."
As Shen You’an turned to leave, the seemingly weak man lying in the snow abruptly opened his eyes, lethal intent flashing within. His wrist flicked, producing a small, sharp dagger. In one fluid motion, he sprang upright, lunging forward to stab the dagger into the unsuspecting teenager’s back.
Everything unfolded in the blink of an eye, leaving no time for anyone to react. From across the street, Li Ku saw the scene and shouted in shock, "Boss, watch out...!"
Snowflakes had started to drift down, their icy touch seeping into the marrow.
