Chapter 124: Chapter 123 - Raven can’t rest.

A day later.

The third-year trial concluded as always.

The Vaises took the highest spot, then some high nobles, and so on.

Because of what happened during the evaluation, the academy was filled with gossip about flying squirrels and that Raven could control them.

Many thought that Raven had a psychic power that enabled him to talk to the squirrels.

However, some thought that it was a more evil power, something similar to mind control that worked only on squirrels.

As for the one who was the talk of the academy, he was relaxing in his mansion.

Well, at least he was trying to do that.

Because he was the one who was most tired from the events during the trial.

Above all, his heart, which had been under a lot of strain because of the repetitive use of Dragonification, needed some rest.

Now, the problem was that the mansion wasn’t entirely his. Others lived there with him.

Worse, now two more people were living with them.

Selena and Lia, who had their mansions, had migrated to the Vaise mansion.

"It was safer for all of them to stay together—"

—Was what they said.

Truthfully, Raven didn’t have a problem with Selena staying with them. She was officially his girlfriend—although a date was pending.

Lia, however, was different.

Right after coming to the academy from the trials, Lia, who had disguised herself until they reached the academy at Raven’s request, revealed that Lio had gone back to the Hector Kingdom and she would be staying here instead of him.

That news shocked everyone.

And when it was said to everyone, it included people outside of the academy because Princess Lia was supposed to be dead.

Now, not only was she alive, but she was also a fifth-circle mage.

The problem was that she was new in this academy—or at least that’s what others knew.

Yet, despite being new, she was staying in the Vaise mansion.

So, Raven had to come up with a reason for her stay in their mansion.

He told Selena, who got invited to a tea party by some young ladies from noble families, to spread the word about Prince Lio’s friendship with Raven and also that it was because of Prince Lio’s request that the Vaises were allowing Lia to stay with them.

Because of Lia, Raven’s problem list was extended. Again.

Now, he had a princess who was supposed to be dead and had many pursuers living under the same roof as him.

Gods know—no, even gods didn’t know how many problems he was going to face because of this.

Despite all that, Raven was trying to rest, but—

Clang!

"Hah! Take this!"

Boom!

"I won’t fall for it again!"

"Ghh!"

The constant sound of Alex, Jake, and Rufus training in the courtyard couldn’t let him sleep.

If that wasn’t enough—

Raven lifted the blanket he was using, staring at the girl who was clinging to him like a koala on a tree.

"Siris. How many times do I have to tell you that I prefer not to be used as a mattress when I’m sleeping?"

He could only sigh.

"I heard boys like it," Siris muttered, looking at him innocently, her eyes upturned.

’Fuck! This look is too cute—!’

He quickly shook his head, his expression serious.

"I like the way your cold body presses against mine, but that makes it hard for me to sleep."

"If you like it, then why can’t you sleep?"

Siris’s question turned him silent, but knowing that there was no other way to get some rest, he decided to be honest.

"Because your body pressing against mine makes me imagine things that make my body excited, making it impossible for me to sleep."

Siris tilted her head and looked at him thoughtfully.

Without saying anything, she sat up straight on his body, her hips grinding against his waist, making Raven’s body jerk as he felt something rising in his pants.

"So you get horny when I’m above you?"

Raven paused at that question, staring at her with an expression that said, ’What did you say?’

Siris, taking that as him accepting it, nodded to herself. "So, you do get horny."

Raven’s lips parted, but no words came out. It was as if he had forgotten how to speak.

But as he saw Siris staring into his eyes as if expecting him to say something, he coughed, nodding. "Of course, I get horny. I’m a regular guy with every part of my body functioning splendidly—Wait!"

Then he paused, shaking his head violently, sitting upright with Siris straddling his lap. "Who taught you that word?"

"Which word?"

"Horny."

"Oh, that," Siris’s eyes lit up in realization before she shook her head. "I can’t tell you that."

Raven looked at her as if she were a ghost. ’She said no to me?’

He was shocked, as it was the first time Siris had kept something from him.

Eventually, Raven decided not to pursue this matter any further and sighed.

"Alright. I want to sleep, so please get down."

Siris, however, merely shifted in his lap, grinning. "But you feel good, right?"

Raven closed his eyes, taking a deep breath as Siris’s expressions were turning strange. Then, he shook his head. "No. I’m not feeling good. Now, go—"

Before he could finish his words, Siris smirked, his soft ass grinding against his pelvis. "I can feel your boner, though—"

"Alright. That’s it."

Raven stood up, making Siris fall to the bed with her head facing upward. Before she could even say anything else, Rave picked her up like a sack of potatoes and dropped her out of his room.

"Off you go."

Baam!

He slammed the door shut, locking it from the inside.

Then, he looked at his pants—or, more precisely, at his boner. "You know I am tired, so why can’t you stay down, man—"

Creak.

Just then, the sound of his window creaking reached his ears as he looked up in alarm, only to see Crisaius, who was halfway through the window, staring at him with a strange look.

’Oh, god no. Did he see me talking to my boner?’

Raven gulped, staring at the old man in silence, as he knew trying to justify it would make things worse.

Crisaius stared back—halfway through the window frame, his long coat fluttering like the cloak of a seasoned drama addict.

Neither spoke.

But then, Crisaius pointed at Raven’s crotch.

"...Don’t," Raven warned, his voice low and dangerous.

Crisaius grinned, sliding fully into the room like a spider who’d just caught his favorite fly doing something very private. "So... is that what you young people call bonding with yourself?"

Raven covered his face with both hands. "I was exhausted, okay?! That was a mental breakdown! A moment of weakness!"

"Oh, no, no, no," Crisaius said, wagging a finger like an old noblewoman scolding her maid for misplacing the silverware. "That wasn’t weakness; that was a TED talk to your trouser snake. Very eloquent, too! I especially liked the line—’You know I am tired, so why can’t you stay down, man?’"

He mimicked Raven’s voice with unsettling precision, even adding in a dramatic hand gesture as if the penis was going to nod solemnly and apologize.

"I hate you," Raven groaned, crawling under his blanket like a defeated animal.

"Oh, I know," Crisaius said cheerfully, walking over and sitting on the bed. "But love and hate are two sides of the same coin, and I am always tails, baby."

"...That made no sense."

"Exactly. Now you know how I feel listening to you whine about horny koalas."

"I DIDN’T WHINE—wait, did you see that too?!"

Crisaius made a zipper motion across his lips, then mimed locking it and throwing the key out the window. "Not my business. Unless you start humping furniture next, in which case, I’m calling an exorcist."

Raven groaned again, this time with real suffering.

After a while, Crisaius tossed a peach he pulled from somewhere—it didn’t matter where—with an idle air. "So. Want to hear about the royal meeting, or do I have to keep pretending I’m your therapist?"

"...What is it? What did they decide?" Raven asked, walking closer and sitting on the chair before the bed, brushing off the shame like a cat licking its fur after falling down the stairs.

Crisaius’s usual joking demeanor softened slightly. "They’re trying to keep the news away from the general public. Too much exposure would cause panic. For now, they had decided to let every noble and person working for the royals know about it as that would help them do an extensive search."

Raven nodded slowly. That made sense. Too much truth too fast usually just meant riots and noble ladies fainting into cakes.

"So?" Crisaius leaned back, lacing his fingers behind his head. "Good, right? Everyone’s on alert now."

Raven was quiet for a moment. Then, he said, "Yes, it is."

Crisaius, however, raised a brow. "Why do you not seem surprised?"

"Because I already knew what you told me."

Crisaius’s smile froze.

"Because during the third-year trial," Raven said slowly, "some of my teachers—who I believe are demonic humans—already knew about the conclusion of the royal meeting." freewёbnoνel.com

"The conclusion you brought to me today was already known by the demons a day ago."

Raven looked up at Crisaius with a rare grim expression. "Someone high up... maybe someone who attended the meeting—or had direct access to it—is feeding them information."

The room went still.

Crisaius’s legs dropped off the edge of the bed. "That’s not a light claim, Raven."

"It’s not a claim," Raven said. "It’s a deduction. There’s a rat in the palace. Possibly someone important."

Crisaius looked at him long and hard. Then he rubbed his temples. "I knew it was bad, but I didn’t think it was this rotten already..."
