DRAGONBORN SORCERER-Chapter 50: Sovereigns Debate & Skyler’s Entry Into Dorm

Mana Alteration was one of the lost techniques. While it wasn’t that much effective normally, yet it possessed a greater threat to Niondra as its very core could be shattered only by Mana Alteration.

Since it required consistent mana supply for stabilizing the floating capital at its state, a small amount of disturbance in the mana flow, could cause a massive amount of causality.

Skyler’s ’Disintegrate’ and ’Scavenge’ skills were not entirely a mana alteration technique, but it was made on the very principality. Using them inside El Niora, could trigger the disturbance which could furtherly rise the concerns of the Sovereigns. Though he wasn’t aware of the fact.

As Arnol left the council meeting hall, the situation grew tensed. An alarming threat was before the Sovereigns. Yet, they couldn’t possibly do anything but to argue over it. Soon a debate took place.

"I think, the sooner we take precautions, the better for our country." Flynn was the first to put his suggestions before the other sovereigns. "If we do nothing, the fall of Niondra might become inevitable."

"I agree as well." Vex nodded, supporting Flynn’s decision, "I think we should reject the proposal of the queen of Rosevill. After all, we’re not obliged to fulfill her request anyway."

The others remained silent. Few of them tried to think about consequences of accepting the suggestion before actually accepting it. However they found none. Until a small laugh came from Rylan Grand.

"I think you’re forgetting some crucial facts." He said, enlightening them about the facts, "The Royal family of Rosevill is quite influential among the ’High Profile Individuals’. After all, their ancestors helped the previous sovereigns to form this land. Are we in any positions to refuse her personal favour at this point?"

"Our image will be ruined among the other nations." Zepha Nyx added, agreeing with him, "It’s not like they’ll go war against us if we still reject. But we need to take ’The Primal Series Dragon’ into consideration."

"Fair enough." Liya Everheart murmured. "Top of that he’s just a stage-5 mage. Do we still need to think about it so deep? He’ll be out of this nation once he finishes his academic lessons."

"What if he plots something against us."

"Come on Flynn." Replied Rylan, "Don’t you think that’s a bit childish. We’re sorcerers, he cannot even lift a finger against us." He chuckled only to anger Flynn more.

Meanwhile Vex Blackwood read the letter again. He ignored what proposal the others were on at. After a few moment of thinking he finally decided to speak.

"This Skyler person." He said softly, "Why doesn’t he have any family name even if he’s connected to her majesty. She referred him to be her close friend, yet his family identification is missing."

"The previous queen passed a long time ago. And he’s too young to be close friend of the current queen. Maybe he’s a half-royal? Who knows how many place the previous ruler had planted his seed."

Flynn laughed as though it was an obvious joke. Yet it wasn’t entirely undeniable. It was another possibility they needed to consider.

"If he’s a half-royal, I don’t think the queen herself would bother to go as far as to send him over here for learning. Most of the times they don’t stand to tolerate their half-siblings."

"That’s also correct." Rylan nodded, "So what’re we supposed to do now. As we’re going on and on, I don’t think we’ll be able to reach a proper decision."

"We cannot even go with majority votes in absence of the Light Sorcerer." Vex stated, "We need a decision where each one of us can agree on."

"In that case, I have suggestion." The beautiful and calm lady, Lysan finally raised her hands.

Everyone looked at her. She barely spoke up until now. Seeing the council heading towards nowhere, she couldn’t sit still, and finally decided to give suggestions.

"I think we should let him take academic lessons in our nation." Her very first statement surprised the others. But it wasn’t the end. She continued, "It will prove us to be trust worthy ally. If he tends to harm our nation, we can incriminate him for that with proper evidence. After that we can cast him out of the country without farther delay. If it angers Rosevill, they won’t be able to cross the International Code of Conduct."

The others were stunned to hear that. It was surprising why it didn’t occurred to them while they thought about that. Her points— each of them was valid.

"But what if we fail to provide a proper evidence." The unavoidable question came from Rylan and Lysan was prepared for it as though she already anticipated that coming.

"Then we can always accuse him of being the ’Shadow Sorcerer’, even more, we can kill him in the spot."

The evil aura shrouding her finally started to appear on her sinister eyes. She was an evil embodiment herself. Killing Skyler seemed no hard job for her.

"Now that you mentioned it, we didn’t hard anything about the Shadow Sorcerers in a week." Liya said, thinking about something, "The last time we heard about him, he was in the nation of Calonia— the nation far in south from Rosevill."

"I don’t think that we really need to be concerned over him." Flynn added, "Right now Lysan’s proposal is mostly acceptable. If they get angery, they will have no option but to restrain themselves. "

Others nodded.

They finally reach the conclusion of their short meeting. If it wasn’t for Arnol who gave them the intel, they might work their butts of till they find they cause. But it ended up in a good way.

Meanwhile Arnol was reaching for the light circles— a discovery of his which allow others to teleport from Niondra to the magic academy. In short it was a teleportation room only available for selected few.

"Imbeciles!" He chuckled, grinning with a smug face, "I bet they won’t notice the letter being altered."

He walked passionately, admiring his intelligence to manipulate the Sovereigns.

"This is your dormitory." Arnol said, glancing at Skyler who looked astonished to stand before the massive building— almost a palace. "From today onwards, you’ll be living here with the other honoured students until you manage to become the light sorcerer."

Skyler stood at the giant and majestic doorway. The dorm itself was massive, and the gates only added masticate brilliance to its attraction.

The doors opened with a cracking sound, and two figure emerged from there. One of them was in maid outfit with blue short hair. Her eyes were slightly green and expressed her cuteness.

The other was a butler whom Skyler didn’t much attention to, almost ignored him.

"you might be Skyler, the new student of the academy." The butler said first, "We are the caretaker of this dorm. I’m Nolan and this is Carla. Feel free to reach us if you need anything."

"Please to meet you." The maid bent, gesturing to guide him inside, "This way, please."

"B’bye Skyler." Arnol waved his hands, "Your uniform will be delivered soon. Till then go and look through the dorms. And try not to peek on the girls." He teased him with a smug face that only irritated him.

But he ignored— still attracted by the cuteness of the maid who led him the way to inside.

The inside was majestic as well. Crimson carpet stretched magnificently through out the long hallway. And ended near the stairs which parted in two different ways from its middle.

"That side is for the ladies and that side is for the gents." The maid— Carla, spoke while instructing him carefully, "Your room is this way."

He followed her, taking the right side of the stairs. As he walked on the stairs, it didn’t make any noises, but his own boot slamming against it.

"This is your room." They stood near a door, "We’ve got only a little time preparing this room on such short notice. If anything isn’t like to your comfort, please forgive us for your incompetence. Notify if you need anything else."

She bowed and headed back to downstairs where Nolan waiter for her. Skyler couldn’t get the time to even thank her properly. He only nodded before unlocking the door to his new room.

It was dark. He couldn’t be able to see his own hand. To his surprise the door locked on its own.

[Trap Suspected!]

The sudden notification from his system raised his concern, and went as far as to be ready with his attacks one after another.

"Flash!"

"Thunder Spheres!"

"Lightning Chains!"

As the room surged with his mana, and sparkled with his powerful element it almost hit the individual waiting for him inside.

"Wait!" an unison panicked voice rose, "Wait, wait, wait, wait. JUST WAIT for god’s sake."

The lights came back, and it turned out to be Maya and her friends waiting for him to through a surprise party.

"You guys?" Skyler looked bewildered, "What were you thinking pulling such prank on me?"

"We weren’t." Leon replied, still bounded by his lightning chains, "We were just trying to surprise you. Please stop this attacks."

Skyler regained his calm demeanour before roasting them like chicken flesh.

"See, I told you it’s a dumb idea to catch him off guard." A voice came which Skyler didn’t heard before. It was gentle and low as if slightly louder than a whisper.

"Oh! Come on, Frey." Emily yelled, "We did surprised him. And it worth it."

"Excuse me guys." Skyler interjected, "Hate to ask but what’re you trying to do here."

"What else can you see?" Charlotte replied as though annoyed by his dumb question.

"The thing is, you see..." Julian told, "Since you’re one of us now, we planned on throughing a small welcome party for you."

"But you surprised us instead." Maya said, continuing from where Julian stopped, "Anyways. Ahem!" her throat clearing reminded everyone what they were there for.

"Welcome to our dorm, Skyler!" Everyone said in unison— even Frey. And the celebration began.

Skyler chuckled seeing how they manage to put everything together for this small celebration. Their effort was remarkable and as to thank them he joined in— laughed with them, and celebrated with them without concerning anything else.
