Dragon Tamer-Chapter 377 - 379: Beating Up a High-Ranking Dragon
Chapter 377: Chapter 379: Beating Up a High-Ranking Dragon
Whether it was the thick snow armor of the Snow Dragon or the black water shield of the Flood Dragon, both were penetrated by these sharp Coral Thorns.
The Coral Thorns also carried a certain toxicity, which would numb and slow the muscles and bones of the Dragon Beasts, making their bodies uncoordinated like a drunken person, dull and clumsy.
The Snow Dragon stood amidst the coral grove, its robust figure swaying. Only with great willpower did it manage to stand firm as a wave of corals crashed towards it like a deluge!
Formed entirely of hard and sharp coral branches, this coral wave was startling to behold. The Snow Dragon immediately turned around, using its spine to endure the terrible onslaught of the coral tide.
Being a Middle-level Dragon Lord, it could still withstand the assault with its strong physique. The other two dragons, however, were not so fortunate.
Both the Dragon Lord of the Flood Dragon and the Dragon Lord of the Shell Dragon were washed to the edge of the Great Competition Field by the coral wave. Their bodies were pierced by the sturdy, spear-like coral branches, leaving them in a most pathetic state, struggling for a long time to break free from the chaotic coral debris!
“ROAR!!!!!!!”
The Snow Dragon let out a tremor-inducing roar. Its roar was like a mighty blizzard, spreading out a white snowstorm from its towering figure in all directions!
The hard coral was shattered by this force, and countless sharp ice fragments flew towards the Azure Phoenix Green Saint Dragon.
With a casual flick of its wings, the Azure Phoenix Green Saint Dragon melted the ice shards soaring towards it in mid-air.
Its eyes fixed on the location of the Snow Dragon when suddenly, vines as sturdy as a deep-sea monster’s tentacles flew out from the coral and entwined around the Snow Dragon’s limbs, dragging it bit by bit towards the Coral Mountain covered in coral spines.
These vines looked somewhat familiar, resembling the Sky Support Vines that Zhu Minglang had seen in the ruins!
Zhu Minglang himself was somewhat surprised. The more potent Method of Driving that Little Qingzhuo had gained from consuming the demonized fruit had apparently been inherited.
Those Sky Support Vines, durable enough to hoist an entire mountain, could not be torn open even by the claws and fangs of Monarch-level creatures!
This Snow Dragon, being but a Middle-level Lord, could not escape the grip of the limited number of Sky Support Vines. It could only watch, unable to break free as it was dragged towards the coral spines.
It was as if undergoing torture. The Snow Dragon roared in agony, exhausting all its strength to finally knock down the corals ahead, but the toxic Coral Thorns had already begun to spread through its bloodstream.
Its actions became even slower.
The furious Snow Dragon lifted its claws and struck out at the Azure Phoenix Azure Dragon.
As the claw came down, it was like an avalanche on a mountainside, with tons of white snow pouring down, its power immense.
Only then did the Azure Phoenix Green Saint Dragon spread its wings, gliding backward with grace. Its beautiful and supple tails drew out blue flames of light, agile and elegant.
The Snow Dragon continued to slam down its claws, the rolling snow becoming more and more substantial, utterly like a collapsing snow mountain.
As the avalanche approached, the Azure Phoenix Green Saint Dragon made a stunning turn. Its wings stretched in the most perfect form, displaying the sacred majesty of its Phoenix lineage to its fullest!
A halo of sanctity encircled the Azure Phoenix Azure Dragon, forming an ancient and splendid totem, releasing tremendous energy within this halo of light!
This azure halo suddenly flickered, and instantly, the raging avalanche began to disintegrate at a speed visible to the naked eye!
The snow melted, and the vast power of the claw strike was being resolved, the azure ring of light like an eye of a deity, its disdainful glare sufficient to calm all aggressive forces in the world!
This was the ultimate in purification techniques, allowing all controlled elemental energies to return to peacefulness, naturally dissolving into the world.
“Purification Halo. This is a sacred technique of the Phoenix clan,” Han Wen expressed with a surprised look on his face.
The Phoenix clan is one of the most noble creatures in the Neon Sea. Even though they are not dragons, they hold a status as revered as that of the dragons, the true sovereigns of the Holy Spirits.
The mother of Han Wen had a Phoenix Dragon unmatched in the world, so powerful that with a mere flutter of its wings, it could calm a tsunami stirred up by a group of wicked sea serpents.
Moreover, many powers of monsters driven by demons in nature were erased by the Purification Halo, as if these so-called spells were created and taught by the Phoenix Dragon itself. As long as it wished to reclaim them, no monster or demonic beast could presume to show off in its presence.
As expected.
The Snow Dragon once again unleashed some powerful snow affliction spells, yet these seemingly overwhelming snow techniques were still purified by the light halo of the Azure Phoenix Azure Dragon!
“What kind of trickery are you using!” Su Huan exclaimed somewhat angrily.
Zhu Minglang did not respond.
It wasn’t that he was trying to be mysterious; it was mainly because he himself was still in the exploratory stage.
Little Qingzhuo was growing and awakening all sorts of powerful abilities, some of which were innate to its bloodline, while others it learned and understood on its own during the nurturing process.
As for this Purification Halo, it should come from the Green Phoenix bloodline, but if one were sparing in the nurturing process, it might not awaken.
The Snow Dragon had wanted to engage in a magical combat with the Azure Phoenix Azure Dragon, only to find that its spells seemed like child’s play before the Azure Phoenix Azure Dragon, and eventually, it had no choice but to charge forward and wrestle with the Azure Phoenix Azure Dragon using its bulky body.
After all, the Azure Phoenix Azure Dragon was still growing and not very robust.
It deftly avoided the Snow Dragon, whose movements were becoming slower and slower, as the poison from the Coral Thorn had taken full effect.
Clumsy and slow, it was like a brown bear chasing an elegant, dancing green butterfly, with the bear even likely to trip over its own legs.
On the spectator stands, laughter from some female students soon spread.
Anyone could see that the Azure Phoenix Azure Dragon was toying with the foolish Snow Dragon.
Su Huan’s face was ashen at this point.
His own dragon was a middle-level Sovereign, and it was even expected to step into the upper Sovereign level next year.
The other party’s dragon, although lower than his own by one level, seemed to have a vast disparity in strength.
This made Su Huan involuntarily glance at his other two dragons.
The Dragon Lord of the Flood Dragon and the Dragon Lord of the Beilong.
They were both lower-level Sovereigns, sharing the same cultivation level as the Azure Phoenix Azure Dragon.
Yet his two lower Sovereigns, like outsiders, were first hurt by running into a thicket of corals, then pierced by Coral Thorns, and finally sent flying by Coral Waves…
They were utterly irrelevant, to the point where Su Huan suspected whether the Lord-level cultivation of his dragons was fake.
“Principal, why is Zhu Minglang’s Green Saint Dragon so different? It seems to handle being besieged by three Sovereigns with ease,” Bai Yishu asked, feeling somewhat puzzled.
Bai Yishu had indeed voiced the doubts of the other students.
Isn’t cultivation base supposed to be the standard for measuring a dragon beast’s strength?
Then how come the Snow Dragon, clearly a middle-level dragon, got beaten severely by a lower-level dragon?
