Dragged Into Another World Because of My Otaku Friend-Chapter 91: New Class
Chapter 91: New Class
After I pressed the class and heard the notification...
in an instant, my body was engulfed by a swirling green aura, wrapping around me like mist.
Swoosh!
I raised my right hand, brushing the smoky aura aside.
I could feel it...
something had changed.
My gear had transformed.
Out of nowhere, I was now wearing sleek green gloves, and my shirt, once short-sleeved, had become a long, robe-like tunic, green trimmed with blue.
Even my front hair had grown longer, shifting color into a vibrant shade of green.
But I did not stop to examine it.
No time for details. I had to act.
I raised my hand and cast a spell,
"Hastefield!"
A glowing sigil expanded beneath my feet, spreading out like a ripple.
It covered a 100-meter radius, enveloping me and all my allies within its reach.
As the sigil shimmered brighter,
it suddenly vanished.
Immediately, I felt my movements become faster. Not quite as fast as Hero Grace, but still inhumanly swift.
I dashed forward, closing the distance in a flash.
Then I cast again, my hand thrust forward, showing my palm to the creature,
"Chronolock!"
A sigil, green in color appeared below the creature, it froze mid-attack.
Its claws hung in the air, mere centimeters from Bob’s neck, as if it was suspended in time.
"Bob! Move!" I shouted.
Bob snapped out of it. He turned and stared at me, like he did not recognize me for a moment.
"Alan...?" he muttered.
"Yeah, it’s me," I said, keeping my focus. "Now go! Head to Beltimore and Alice!"
He nodded and took off, and to his surprise, he moved like the wind. No drag, no resistance. Just pure speed. He checked if he was unaccidentally activated Hero Grace form again, but that skill was still on cooldown.
In mere seconds, he had reached Beltimore and Alice’s side.
"Time magic!" Alice gasped, her eyes widening, the widest they had been since she accompanied these two on this trial.
"Are you sure?" Beltimore asked, his expression mirroring hers.
Alice didn’t answer right away.
Instead, a mischievous grin slowly curled on her lips.
"Bel-bel..." she said, voice playful.
"...If our guildmaster doesn’t want to accept them into the guild, then I want them to join my group."
Bob, still catching his breath, looked at Alice’s expression, and suddenly felt a chill.
She looked exactly like one of those crazy witches who just discovered some rare, exotic treasure.
---
I arrived in front of the creature.
It stood completely frozen, like a statue.
Being this close made me feel uneasy, its grotesque form more horrifying up close.
Half of its body was submerged in the ground, and its oily black skin glistened under the dim light, pulsing unnaturally.
I summoned Indra.
Its appearance had changed, it now glowed with a mix of green and blue, harmonizing with my new aura.
Does changing into the Timeweaver class also alter my weapon and gears?
I wondered briefly, then pushed the thought aside.
I aimed Indra directly at the creature’s face,
point-blank.
"Hellfire Burst!"
A violent burst of flames erupted from my weapon, completely engulfing the nightmare creature.
I stepped back, watching as it writhed in the flames.
It began to move, screaming in pain, twisting its body in sheer agony.
The black liquid that coated the entire chamber floor began to shift and shrinking, retracting toward the creature’s body, as if being absorbed back into it.
The creature’s lower half slowly emerged from the ground, its body still writhing in pain as it released a roar. Everyone, including myself, stood frozen, watching in tense silence as the nightmare’s form began to deteriorate.
Its once fearsome body, covered in oily black skin, was now melting away, the fire eating through it bit by bit. Just as the flames began to fade, a figure started pushing through from within the collapsing mass.
I narrowed my eyes, trying to see clearly.
It was humanoid.
Then I recognized her...
Daria.
She was struggling, her arms trembling as she tried to crawl out of the blackened remains. Her appearance was horrifying, half her face was scorched, much of her hair gone, and large parts of her body were stripped down to raw muscle, as if her skin had been torn away.
"Please... help me! It hurts! It’s painful!"
Her scream was hoarse and desperate, filled with unbearable agony.
I was stunned. Even after all that had happened, her voice was still human, filled with fear.
Without thinking, I stepped forward. My body moved on instinct. I didn’t understand why, but something in me wanted to help her.
Before I could get close, a hand extended in front of me, stopping me firmly.
It was Alice.
She stood beside me with a calm but unyielding expression, her white-gloved hands now glowing brightly with surging mana. Magic had returned to the area.
Her gaze was fixed on Daria. Then, softly, barely audible, she spoke.
"Absolute Zone."
The temperature around us shifted. From the air above, golden particles began to drift downward, like delicate flower petals glowing in the light. Suddenly, dozens of radiant golden blades appeared, descending at lightning speed.
They pierced through Daria’s limbs, her arms, her legs, even her thighs, pinning both her and the writhing black substance to the ground.
The shadow matter reacted violently, thrashing and pulsing. Then it began to rise again, crawling back over her body. Daria’s form twisted as she screamed in anguish, the monstrous shape trying to reform around her once more.
Despite being impaled, the creature was still trying to regenerate. Its body writhed as if refusing to die, its limbs convulsing and pushing against the light that bound it.
Alice, unfazed, raised her hand high above her head, her expression solemn but determined. With a single motion, she swung it down.
At the same moment, a massive golden sword materialized above the creature, suspended for a brief second before slamming down with a brilliant flash of light.
The impact was deafening. The roar that came from the creature was its last.
Then there was silence.
The beast lay still, finally defeated.
I gasped at the display of power from Alice. That level of magic... it was overwhelming. Was the guild lying when they said there were no S-Ranks among them? Because what I just witnessed, she was like one. No, maybe even stronger.
I slowly exhaled, my breath shaky from everything that had just happened. The green gloves and robe that had appeared on my body during the Timeweaver transformation were now fading away, breaking apart into glowing particles and dissolving into the air.
