After giving way to us, Prince Reid hurled his horse forward and unsheathed his sword from his side, raising it upward. The sword was made of high-grade steel with a beautiful hilt and intricate design.

"Make way for the four of them! Slay all the monsters along the way! Move!" he shouted.

After he spoke, the soldiers started running forward while crying their battle-cry. Reymond’s army was led by Sir Dave, while Reid’s army was led by himself. A dozen elite soldiers were rallying forward toward the enemies.

Bang!

One of the goat monster’s heads was shattered by my shot. Thanks to the [Glass Glasses], my aim accuracy increased exponentially. Added with the Aim passive of the Archer class, which I was equipped with now, almost 90% of my shots were hitting the intended target.

But their numbers were too much that one of the monsters was able to break free and open its jaws toward me. It had the shape of a dog, but with white eyes, without pupil.

Luckily, I had also equipped the [Iron Maiden Buckler] on my left hand. I struck the dog monster on its head, producing the sound of steel as the buckler hit its skull. It could act as a shield and also as a counter. Not a bad card.

Linus was swinging his staff with swift speed as he easily killed three or four monsters in one swing. Mina-chan was hovering in the air, ready to heal, while Plump was running all over the place while activating [Searing Dash], leaving trails of flames on its path, burning some unfortunate monsters.

However, our group’s true objective was not fighting the monsters. We were tasked to enter the mansion, where it was believed the princess was there, and bring her out.

I raised my head, trying to see where the hell that Reymond guy was. What I saw was, about fifty metres from us, flying monsters being thrown around. Some were thrown upward, some sideways. It looked like that guy was running amok.

"We need to get to Reymond now. We cannot waste our time here!" I shouted.

"I know! But there are too many of them!" Bob said as he slashed one of the monsters.

Suddenly, a large tiger monster jumped above me from behind. I noticed a shadow and turned, but I was unable to move as the monster was just seconds away from mauling me.

Boom!

The tiger monster was blasted away and engulfed in flame. I looked to my side and saw Maya raising her staff. Smoke curled from the tip of the staff.

"Go! We will cover you!" Evelyn appeared, running from behind Maya and quickly released arrows that never missed their target.

"Thank you, you two!" I said.

Bob was struggling to contain a group of monsters that would not stop attacking him. He blocked most of the strikes with his swords and countered back. Some of the monsters were burned by the fire from the passive of [Embersteel Sword]. But soon, he was overwhelmed by sheer numbers, forcing him to step back.

"Western Hook Punch!"

Selene arrived to help Bob. She released a punch toward one of the monsters. As soon as the monster was hit, it was blown away from her. The shockwave from her punch kept travelling before hitting the monsters in front of Bob, flinging them away.

Bob was astonished. "What the hell is that?"

Selene herself was stunned. She looked at the green gloves on her hands. It was a magic weapon given to her by the Guildmaster. She did not expect it to be this powerful. She clenched her fist, filled with excitement. She jumped toward a herd of monsters and slammed into the ground, releasing a shockwave outward that killed several monsters.

"This is perfect!" She grinned.

Meanwhile, Linus was also having difficulties on the other side. Because he was equipping a staff, it made a fraction of a second opening between one attack and the next. The huge number of monsters forced him to minimize that gap, but it made his strikes more superficial. His technique depended on swinging his staff and generating enough force to cause fatal damage. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

Suddenly, a giant cyclop came toward Linus and released a punch. Linus managed to jump away from it. The cyclop had blue rough skin, a large single eye on its forehead, and oversized yellow teeth with uneven shape. Its eye stared straight at Linus.

"Damn it! A cyclop of all things." Linus cursed. He knew very well how difficult it was to handle this abomination. Its skin was tough, even the sharpest blades had no effect on it.

The cyclop’s eye locked onto Linus. It raised its hand to smash the puny monster in front of it. Linus was unable to evade this time, as there were monsters all around him, making dodging impossible. He just looked as the giant fist came down.

Zuu! Zuu!

Two sharp blue ice shards flew toward the cyclop and shattered upon impact against its hand and face. The cyclop screamed in pain as it fell backward onto the ground.

"Vice-Captain Beltimore. Thank you." Linus said as he saw Beltimore slowly walking toward him. Many monsters around him were frozen.

"Go. Leave this one-eyed monster to me." Beltimore said, facing the cyclop who was trying to stand back up.

Linus nodded and ran toward me and Bob. "Come on, you two. We need to catch up to Reymond now."

We ran across the monsters, but none of them attacked us as others were covering the line. Suddenly, as we were closing in on the mansion, two large cyclopes jumped in front of us. They immediately raised both of their massive hands and swung at us.

I was just about to change class to Super Novice and cast a protective skill, when out of nowhere, the two cyclopes were engulfed in a huge blast of fire. Both of them screamed in pain and tried to put out the flames.

The flames burning them were not normal. They were red-orange in color, blazing ferociously.

"What are you waiting for? Go already!" a voice echoed above us.

We looked up and saw a figure floating in the air. Her whole body was made of flames, and her hair rose like burning fire.

It was Guildmaster Mirinda, also known as the Flame Queen.
