Dragged Into Another World Because of My Otaku Friend-Chapter 158: Against The Odds
Cain explained what he experienced yesterday. He recalled seeing three strange lights shooting upward from the ground before the monsters appeared. And from his explanation, it seemed what he said was true.
"That must be the location of the kaoslith. I’m very sure." I frowned my eyebrows. This calamity must be stopped immediately before it spreads to nearby towns. There should not be another disasters occurs to other towns similar to what happen here and previously at Lily town.
"You said earlier you found one of them at the port?" Beltimore asked the three of us. We nodded.
"Why didn’t you destroy it? Is it alright to leave it like that?" William asked. He clearly didn’t know much about the kaoslith. I couldn’t blame him. The last one he saw must’ve been ten years ago when he and his group including Beltimore fought one.
"It’s not that easy. There are specific methods to destroy them. Handling them carelessly will only bring more chaos," Linus said.
’If Alice was here, she’d know how to deal with this. She knows more about kaoslith than anyone else,’ Beltimore sighed. She really wanted her to be here.
"Then there is really nothing we can do right now?" Evelyn asked, her face full of worry as she looked at the townspeople, thinking about their fate.
"There is one thing we can do. We need to defeat the one controlling the kaoslith. They must be nearby to maintain the link between these crystals. If we take them down, we can destroy the kaosliths. Probably," Linus explained. Even he wasn’t sure if it would work.
"Probably? So you want us to fight endless monsters without even knowing if it actually works? You know how tired we are right now?" Lee snapped. He was irritated seeing me, Bob, and Linus becoming the center of attention in the guild even though we were new members.
"You have any better idea then? Please, enlighten us if you do," Bob smirked at him.
Lee met Bob’s eyes, clenched his teeth, then turned away and walked to the other side.
"He is so useless. Why did we even let him join our group in the first place?" Bob folded his arms, staring at Lee’s back with disgust.
"He’s always like that, you’ll get used to it. He’s actually strong, you know... if only he could fix his attitude," Selene said to Bob with a smile.
"Anyway. Talking won’t solve anything. Let’s find the kaoslith first, then decide the next step. Cain, right? Please show us the way," Beltimore said.
Cain nodded. "Let’s go."

In one corner of Daisy Town, a group of soldiers on horseback were escorting a black carriage. They were moving on the road sandwiched between half-collapse row of buildings.
Inside the carriage, Princess Reika looked out the window with a saddened expression as she watched the scale of destruction.
"Why do people do this to others, Githa? Can’t we all live in harmony, without conflict?" Reika asked. She had seen the consequences of many battles, yet she still couldn’t understand why people kept killing each other.
"As long as someone has more power than others, there will never be harmony. That’s just human nature. Add greed, and you have the perfect recipe for disasters like this," Githa answered. She remained alert, hand on her sword the whole time. She also despised conflicts that took innocent lives.
As they were deep in thought, the carriage suddenly came to an abrupt stop, followed by the sound of horses neighing.
Reika was thrown forward by the momentum, but Githa caught her. Githa shouted from inside the carriage.
"Why did all of you stop? What’s happening?"
"I-It’s an enemy attack!" one of the soldiers shouted.
"What?!" Githa immediately drew her sword and was about to leap out of the carriage, when suddenly, a voice came from behind her.
"Hmm. What do we have here? A princess traveling all the way from the city. It’s truly an honor to finally meet you."
A masked man was already sitting in front of Reika. It was none other than Azul.
"You!" Githa didn’t waste a second. She thrust her weapon straight at Azul. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
But to her shock, the blade passed right through him, as if he were made of air. Githa’s eyes widened.
Azul took advantage of her surprise. He grabbed the blade with one hand and kicked Githa hard in the abdomen, launching her out of the carriage. She flew several meters before crashing into the wall of a nearby building.
"Githa!" Reika shouted, trying to escape the carriage.
"Oopsy. I’m afraid you can’t leave this carriage just yet, my princess." Azul pulled the princess toward him and cast a purplish aura over her face, knocking her unconscious.
"Good night, princess," Azul said playfully.
The carriage started moving again, rolling past the fallen soldiers on the road. Dozens of dark-robed figures stood on the rooftops nearby, moving in formation with the carriage.
Sir Llyod struggled to stand, his leg badly injured from the ambush. The remaining soldiers lay scattered, groaning in pain.
Llyod limped toward Githa, who was just starting to regain consciousness.
"I... I apologize, Githa. The enemy was waiting for us. My incompetence led to the princess being taken."
Githa grabbed Llyod to help herself up, still clutching her abdomen in pain.
"Spare your guilt, Llyod. We need to get her back. I’ll follow them. You head to Prince Reid’s camp and ask for help."
"You want to go alone? You’re injured, Githa. Let’s treat your wound first," Lloyd said, worried.
"This... is nothing." Githa forced herself forward, one hand pressed against her abdomen. But after only a few steps, she collapsed to the ground.
"Githa!" Lloyd rushed to her side, then called the remaining soldiers who could still move to carry her away.
Why is this so painful? It was just a kick... Githa frowned, tears gathering in her eyes. She was clearly disappointed in herself as she couldn’t even protect her master.
"I promise, Princess... I will save you!"
