Chapter 518: Chapter 518 Kidnapped

Upon hearing of Wufu’s mishap, Ah Jiu walked out of the room with a sullen face, dark as ink.

Li An, unable to gain an audience with Ah Jiu and persuaded by Su Luo to leave, was just about to step away when he saw Ah Jiu approaching. His eyes lit up, and he hurriedly advanced two steps and knelt, "Your Highness..."

However, Ah Jiu didn’t even glance at him and passed right by him.

Li An was stunned for a moment, straightening his body which hadn’t fully lowered, just in time to hear Su Luo asking Xiao Li what had happened.

Xiao Li replied that the young lady had run into trouble, and Su Luo’s complexion also changed several times.

Li An’s gaze flickered, "Young lady? Mishap?"

What young lady?

To make His Highness so anxious.

"Young General, His Lordship is in a foul temper; you should come back in a couple of days," Su Luo said, not bothering with Li An any further, as she pushed and ushered him out.

Li An stood outside the inn, and his confidant approached, asking quietly, "My lord, what does His Highness mean?"

"Let’s head back first," Li An turned around and then ordered, "Check who has been following the Ninth Prince around these past few days."

"Yes."

Ah Jiu, completely unaware that Li An dared to have him investigated, entered another room and immediately saw Liu Jin sitting there, lost and forlorn, with a face that was once pretty now bruised and swollen, stained with large patches of blood.

As if sensing someone’s presence, Liu Jin mechanically turned his head, and upon seeing Ah Jiu, his eyes brightened, and without a thought, he knelt before him with a plop, "Ninth Master, please, save our young lady..."

Liu Jin had barely spoken a few words before he was sobbing uncontrollably.

"Stop crying and get up to speak," Ah Jiu said with an ugly expression.

Xiao Li immediately stepped forward to help Liu Jin up, saying in a deep voice, "Now is not the time to cry. Hurry up and tell us what happened so we can start looking for her."

Liu Jin quickly wiped his nose and tears, trying to compose himself as he recounted what had transpired.

It turned out, earlier that day, they had learned that there was a big market in West City’s poor district, and especially during the once-in-a-decade grand market, many small traders and commoners would flock there, creating a festive atmosphere that one could only imagine.

After learning about it, Wufu insisted on joining the bustling scene, so they went to the grand market.

Indeed, the market was as bustling as they had heard, with not only small traders but also ordinary people bringing goods like mountain produce and fur to sell. There were also small stalls and such vibrancy was an eye-opening experience.

They were thoroughly enjoying themselves, and Wufu even managed to buy two fox pelts at a bargain price. Before they could even celebrate their find, a panic suddenly ensued at the market with a horse running amok and charging through the crowd.

Wufu had the guards following them, Chen Tao, take control of the horse to prevent anyone from getting hurt while they dispersed, each to a side. Liu Jin was standing alone when suddenly someone picked him up and ran, terrifying him so much that he screamed out for Wufu.

Seeing that Liu Jin had been abducted, Wufu, without a thought, gave chase. Hongyu was petrified for a moment and was about to follow but, for some reason, she stopped and turned, running towards where Chen Tao was.

While Liu Jin was being carried away, Wufu quickly caught up with them in a narrow alley. But before Wufu could rescue Liu Jin from his kidnapper, someone sprang out from a hidden nook in the alley and threw a handful of lime in his face; Liu Jin soon saw Wufu inexplicably collapsing limply to the ground.

Right after that, he watched as the person used a sack to cover the young lady and abducted her, while he struggled desperately, kicking and punching with the Kung Fu Wufu had taught him.

However, the person who was carrying him was tall and simply threw him to the side, disappearing in the blink of an eye.
