Don't Fall For Me, CEO-Chapter 950: Ungrateful Wretch
On the day Old Master Donovan brought Yvonne Donovan back to The Donovan Estate, Richard Donovan happened to be home as well and invited July Quinn over.
July Quinn had a strong aversion to the Donovan Family and initially refused Richard Donovan.
But Richard Donovan used the excuse that the blue cat Yvonne Donovan raised at home was starving to death, persuading July Quinn to come over and look after the blue cat.
Indeed, although July Quinn hadn’t spent much time at The Donovan Estate, Richard Donovan could tell she still really liked the blue cat.
Those days, almost every time he came home from work, he could see July Quinn and the blue cat staring at each other.
Moreover, you see, July Quinn originally resisted returning to the Donovan Family, but when Richard Donovan mentioned the blue cat was sick, she still agreed to come over.
When Yvonne Donovan was led into the house, she saw one person and one cat staring daggers at each other on the sofa, with Richard Donovan sitting nearby wearing a bright smile.
Whether it was the cat’s affection towards July Quinn or Richard Donovan’s smile at July Quinn, it all made Yvonne Donovan feel infuriated.
Thus, Yvonne Donovan spoke out: "Mimi..."
In Yvonne Donovan’s imagination, the blue cat should dash to her side at the first moment she, the true owner, returned, brushing against her ankles, infuriating July Quinn who wanted to replace her as the owner.
But she didn’t expect that the one almost infuriated would be herself.
Upon hearing the familiar call, the blue cat merely glanced lazily at Yvonne and then disinterestedly squinted again, locking eyes with July Quinn.
Ungrateful wretch!
Yvonne Donovan cursed inwardly.
When she returned to this home, she vowed to put it in its place!
Yvonne Donovan’s voice didn’t catch the attention of Mimi the blue cat, but it did draw the attention of Richard Donovan and July Quinn.
"Why are you here?" Richard Donovan frowned.
It wasn’t that he couldn’t tolerate Yvonne Donovan; after all, he watched this child grow up.
He was just worried that rare meetings with July Quinn might be spoiled by Yvonne’s anger.
As for July Quinn, she didn’t react to anything. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
Her cold, aloof eyes only briefly swept over Yvonne before settling back on Mimi the blue cat.
"Yvonne is someone I brought back. I have something to announce soon."
Old Master Donovan glanced at July Quinn, who was still looking at the cat and didn’t greet him, and couldn’t help but scold her inwardly.
Impertinent wild girl!
Do you really think by pushing Yvonne out, everything under Richard Donovan’s name will belong to you, so you dare ignore even an old man like him?
Ha!
No matter what, he definitely wouldn’t let her have her way.
"Dad, what do you have to announce?"
Richard Donovan glanced at July Quinn, noting she didn’t pay Yvonne any heed and showed no trace of anger, and relaxed slightly.
In asking this, Richard Donovan unconsciously sized up Yvonne once more.
He had a feeling the announcement from Old Master Donovan would likely have something to do with Yvonne.
Yvonne Donovan wasn’t sure if she was afraid Richard Donovan would see through something about her, or if she was simply unhappy about the closeness between Mimi and July Quinn, so when Richard Donovan fixed his gaze on her, she quickly stepped forward and scooped Mimi into her arms.
"Mimi, I’m sorry. I promised to come get you once I settled down, but kept delaying until now..."
In truth, when Yvonne Donovan left that day, she didn’t even think of Mimi.
The promise of "come get it once settled down" was utter nonsense, entirely non-existent.
She was merely putting on a show for July Quinn to see that as Mimi’s owner, she was an irreplaceable presence.
As for Richard Donovan, she didn’t greet him from start to finish, nor did she look at him.
It was as if she didn’t know how to face Richard Donovan, but more so out of holding a grudge against him for being thrown out of the Donovan Family.
