Don't Fall For Me, CEO-Chapter 1144: His Punishment
"You’ve already guessed it, why are you asking me?"
July Quinn tossed the phone back to Kyle Keaton.
Indeed, she knew that with Kyle Keaton’s mind, he must have already figured out what had happened.
So whether she said it or not made no difference to him.
Kyle Keaton took the phone, enveloped July Quinn in his arms, burying his entire face in her neck: "So, Anna kidnapped you?"
Although July Quinn has returned safely, and although he knows those people cannot hurt July Quinn, he still has lingering fears because he cannot bear even the slightest chance of losing her.
Just thinking that today, someone stole her away right under his nose and possibly harmed her, Kyle Keaton wants nothing more than to tear that person apart.
Listening to the man’s slightly hoarse voice, July Quinn closed her eyes: "Yes, but she didn’t succeed. Instead, she suffered a bit, so she released these videos as a counterattack."
But July Quinn didn’t want to explicitly say what exactly Anna suffered.
She was afraid Kyle Keaton would think she’s vicious for ruining a girl’s innocence so ruthlessly.
Yet she wasn’t a saint; she truly couldn’t forgive someone who went out of their way to destroy her!
But evidently, what the man cared about wasn’t whether Anna suffered, but rather...
"Why didn’t you contact me right away?"
Kyle Keaton bit July Quinn’s neck.
The force was not restrained, even carrying a hint of punishment.
"Ow!"
July Quinn winced in pain.
Without moving her hair aside, she knew someone must have left a bite mark on her.
She intended to throw a punch at the man, to see if he dared to ambush her again.
But the man seemed to anticipate her punch, and just as she swung her fist, he wrapped his big hand around it. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Then, he also eased the force of the earlier bite, gently rubbing, alleviating July Quinn’s pain while also conveying his compassion.
Perhaps feeling a bit better, July Quinn ceased her struggle, eyes narrowing with pleasure like a dozing cat.
"With their little tricks, they can’t really do anything to me."
Yes, she was confident that Anna’s petty schemes couldn’t hurt her, so upon realizing she was kidnapped, she didn’t seek help.
But the man couldn’t accept her reasoning, still speaking hoarsely into her ear: "I know you’re very capable, but there’s always a chance. Just like when you fell off that cliff last time..."
Even though now it’s certain she is alive and well in this world, Kyle Keaton still inexplicably dreams of her cliff fall scene every night.
Every time he wakes, he’s drenched in cold sweat, needing repeated confirmation through messages or calls to ensure she’s really okay before he can calm down.
So now he simply cannot accept her facing any risk, especially when he can’t be by her side.
July Quinn couldn’t argue.
Because at that time, she indeed thought she could escape perfectly after the fall, but unexpectedly, she got injured.
If Roman Kidd hadn’t arrived in time, that day would truly have been her memorial.
Beside her ear, the man’s whisper continued.
"July, I really can’t bear any possibility of losing you now. So from now on, whether you can solve it or not, just give me a message, okay?"
His voice was noticeably lowered, adding a bit of humility, with a deliberate tone of appeasing and coaxing.
One could easily sense his helplessness and worry...
Perhaps touched by him, or maybe finding solace, July Quinn softly hummed in agreement.
The man was overjoyed, lowering his head to kiss her.
July Quinn tried to push him away, but eventually gave up resisting.
The long and beautiful night thus began...
