Divorced and Determined: The CEO's Ex-Wife Fights for Love-Chapter 210
Chapter 210
Xiaomi packed up the small folding stool and put it on the food truck, locked the door, and walked over to Lu Qin’s side, saying, “Boss, should I head back now with the food truck?”
Lu Qin nodded.
“Stop by the farmer’s market on the way and buy some ribs and shrimp. Once you’re home, wash the rice and start cooking, I’ll make the rest when I get back.”
“Okay, Boss.”
Xiaomi followed Lu Qin’s instructions without hesitation, driving the food truck back. Before 5 o’clock, Lu Qin Snack Stall had already closed for the day.
Other snack stall owners were filled with envy and frustration.
“Is he selling wholesale or something?”
Typically, food stalls at a festival will stock up on ingredients, so running out of food is rare. Even if it happens, it’s usually just one or two popular items.
But for Lu Qin to sell out everything on the truck—this was unheard of. No, it’s more accurate to say it’s never happened before.
As the Lu Qin Snack Truck slowly drove away, all eyes—both from customers and fellow vendors—followed it. Customers reluctantly watched, and the stall owners sighed in relief. The “enemy” in the snack stall world was finally leaving.
Qin Hui wiped the sweat from his forehead. Despite his best efforts, Lu Boss still refused to set up in Lianhua District. He could occasionally come, but coming daily was definitely out of the question.
Qin Hui was at his wit’s end. He couldn’t very well prepare a house for him and make him move here, could he? Finally, he opened the door of Lu Qin’s truck and watched helplessly as the stall left.
In the end, Lu Boss only agreed to stay for the food festival, and after it ended, he wouldn’t likely return to Lianhua District to set up again. What frustrated Qin Hui the most was that once the food festival was over, Lu Boss would likely pull a large number of Lianhua District’s customers over to Annan District.
Now, with the convenience of transportation—by car, subway, or bus—the trip from Lianhua District to Annan District was no more than half an hour. It took just 20 minutes without traffic, so it wasn’t far.
For the chance to enjoy Lu Qin’s snacks, that 20-minute trip was worth it. At the entrance of Starlight Kindergarten. A stunning woman in a black business suit and high heels stood there, captivating everyone around her.
Shen Muyan, with her waterfall-like hair cascading down to her shoulders, was tall, with a curvaceous figure. She stood there with an air of elegance, looking incredibly beautiful.
Whether single or married, every father at the kindergarten couldn’t help but glance in her direction. They weren’t thinking anything inappropriate, but simply couldn’t suppress their instinctive admiration for beauty.
“It’s Yao Yao’s mom! She’s so beautiful!”
“She’s got both looks and money, the perfect woman!”
“I’m a woman and even I’m smitten!”
“Those legs—straight as an arrow!” 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
In just three minutes, five fathers had already been scolded for staring too much. At 5:25 p.m., Lu Qin parked the truck, and he was a little surprised to see the wealthy woman waiting to pick up the little one.
Wasn’t she a workaholic? How did she have time every day?
The two of them stood side by side, a perfect match, causing envy from onlookers. Soon, Lu Xiyao came out. She had already pinned the “Little Boss Lady” badge on her clothes.
When the little one saw Lu Qin and Shen Muyan together, her eyes lit up, and she happily ran toward them, releasing Teacher Li’s hand as she dashed over.
“Boss Lu! Rich Mom!”
Shen Muyan opened her arms, ready to embrace her. But Lu Xiyao had already thrown herself into Lu Qin’s arms. Shen Muyan pinched the little one’s soft cheek and didn’t let go.
“It hurts, Mommy!”
“Come here, give me a kiss.”
“Okay!”
The little one kissed Lu Qin first, then ran to Shen Muyan’s arms and kissed her wealthy mother. In the little one’s heart, the family ranking remained unchanged.
First was Lu Qin, second was herself, and third was wealthy Mommy. If they got a dog or cat later, Shen Muyan would drop to fourth. She never said this aloud, of course.
If she did, wealthy Mommy would definitely have a few words for her. Shen Muyan slid into the backseat of the car and stretched her long legs—longer than Lu Boss’s life—on the footrest, trying to stay as comfortable as possible.
She didn’t drive. After arriving at the kindergarten, she had the driver leave and waited for Lu Qin. When he arrived, she could hitch a ride with him, and maybe even grab a meal. If possible, she might even hitch a ride from others.
“Daddy, are we going home? Aren’t we going to the food stall anymore?”
The little one realized Lu Qin was not headed in the right direction.
“Yao Yao, everything’s sold out. Today’s done,” Lu Qin explained.
“But Daddy, can we make some more food and go sell it? I haven’t been the Little Boss Lady today!”
The little one looked at him with a bright, hopeful expression. She had already hung her badge, and now he was saying it was over. She was so disappointed!
“We’re taking a break today. Daddy will play checkers with you at home,” Lu Qin said.
“But I still want to be the Little Boss Lady!”
Lu Qin sighed, realizing there was no reasoning with her.
“Daddy, please?”
The little one blinked her big eyes and gave a little pout.
Shen Muyan, enjoying the seat massage with her eyes closed, said, “Stop whining. Stay at home and be good tonight.”
The little one turned her head and, with a serious tone, said to Shen Muyan, who was resting with her eyes closed:
“I! Want! To! Be! The! Little! Boss! Lady!”
The tone! She was getting bolder!
Shen Muyan opened her eyes, staring coldly at her.
“Say that again?”
“I! Want! To! Be! The! Little! Boss! Lady!”
The little one’s rebellious side seemed to have gained some weight. Shen Muyan, using her CEO persona, brought out a tenth of the coldness she used in the office, directing it toward the little one.
Once she rested her legs back on the footrest and resumed enjoying her massage, the little one stood tearfully in the backseat, holding onto the chair.
Lu Qin, keeping his focus on driving, paid no attention to their exchange. Although he was a “daughter’s slave,” some things had to be taught in moderation. He couldn’t let the little one get away with everything. This would do her good in the long run.
When she grew up and entered society, she’d learn that the world wasn’t going to give in to her every whim. Lu Qin hated to see her cry, but Shen Muyan didn’t mind. As a woman, it wasn’t wrong to give a little hard love.
The little one looked at Lu Qin for help. But then Shen Muyan spoke coldly, “Stop looking around. Don’t wander, stand up properly.”
The little one whimpered.
After “punishing” the little one for five minutes, Shen Muyan finished her massage and gave the little one a sweet reward.
“Alright, stop crying. Say ‘I know I was wrong,’ and I’ll forgive you.”
The little one, with a pout, remained silent.
“Well? Still haven’t realized your mistake?” Shen Muyan raised an eyebrow.
“Ugh… You’ve got me cornered, how could I not know my mistake~!”
Shen Muyan’s face broke into a smile.
This little one—she was admitting her mistake, but still with the last bit of stubbornness!
