Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me-Chapter 121: Nobility
"Leo Joyce, get your filthy hands off her!" Aiden Avery roared, unable to hold back when he saw Leo Joyce brazenly making a move on his sister right in front of him.
At his words, Leo Joyce glanced at the people standing in the doorway. He shot Aiden Avery a provocative smile, then dipped his head to steal a kiss on Amelia Avery’s cheek. Only then did he slowly release her, his tone flippant. "Well, well... I was wondering who it could be. Turns out my dear brother-in-law has arrived."
"I’m your grandpa!" Aiden Avery’s face darkened as he spoke, stepping forward to yank the dazed Amelia Avery to his side.
"Haha... Fine, fine... Your whole family can be my ancestors for all I care..."
Leo Joyce’s words were careless, but they made Aiden Avery clench his fists. "Leo Joyce, you’re taking this too far!"
"Alright, alright, I’ll shut up. You’re the boss. Whatever you say, goes." ’Who’s to blame but me for falling for his sister? Ah, I’m in the wrong here! Best to say nothing more.’
The smarmy look on Leo Joyce’s face made Aiden Avery itch to go over and land a couple of punches on him.
"We’re leaving. Stay away from people like him in the future." He resentfully turned to leave, pulling Amelia Avery along with him.
Resigned, Amelia Avery had no choice but to follow her brother out. Just as she was walking through the door, however, she glanced back at Leo Joyce and mouthed two words: *Save me*.
Leo Joyce’s handsome brows arched, and he raised a hand to make an "OK" sign.
「In the car.」
Aiden Avery massaged his temples, a headache forming. As if the playboy Cassian Jennings and the connected Gia Miller weren’t enough to deal with, now there was a Leo Joyce in the mix.
’Yes, he didn’t care how his sister wanted to play around. If it came down to it, he’d follow behind and clean up her messes. Threats, bribery, intimidation—he’d do it all. What could he do? This was the little sister he’d spoiled since she was a child.’
’But this Leo Joyce was clearly a much bigger headache than Cassian Jennings and Gia Miller combined. Tridell’s Little Tyrant, its princeling...’
’In all of Tridell, probably only the Lockwood Family had the power to go up against the Joyce Family...’
’Because the newly rich and the true aristocracy were in completely different leagues. His family, the Averys, were rich. Aside from having enough money to bury a person, they didn’t have much of an advantage. The truly prestigious, aristocratic families in Tridell were the Lockwoods, the Joyces, and the Bishops... though rumor had it the Bishop family had fallen from grace a year ago. Whether that was true or not, no one knew...’
’He absolutely could not let Amelia get involved with someone from a dangerously powerful family like that.’
"Amelia Avery, you’re becoming more and more of a handful! Staying out all night is bad enough, but getting mixed up with a punk like Leo Joyce?!"
Amelia’s mind landed on something. She gave a self-deprecating laugh and spoke coolly, "Brother, you were the one who hired people to humiliate Gia Miller, weren’t you?"
"What does this have to do with Gia Miller?" Aiden Avery nodded, his anger laced with confusion.
"Cassian framed me. He said I was the one who sent those people. Tell me, Brother, if I don’t actually do what he’s accusing me of, wouldn’t I be letting his false accusation go to waste?"
As soon as Aiden Avery heard that, he lost his composure. "That bastard Cassian Jennings, he dared to frame you?" ’He couldn’t even bring himself to scold his own sister, and that bastard Cassian was getting bolder by the second.’
"Mhm. That’s why I went to gamble with Leo Joyce. I won, so he’s going to help me deal with Gia Miller."
Aiden Avery was displeased. ’His own sister went to someone else for help? How could he show his face?’ "You silly girl," he chided. "If you wanted to deal with Gia Miller, you should have just told me."
"Then tell me, Brother, who do you think is more powerful: the Joyce Family or our Avery Family?"
