Chapter 3589  Always There For Him

"Oh, if it isn't my Master. I thought he died there after exploding, for my sake."

Davis wryly smiled at Master Deathseeker as he took a step back, looking like he was going to be hunted down.

"Unfortunately, he's still alive and angry that his favored disciple forgot all about him."

Master Deathseeker strode forward, closing the distance as he stared at Davis with an amused expression on his face.

Davis chuckled lightly as he straightened himself out, "Haha. I was busy all this time, tackling some supernatural matters before secluding myself. I finally had a chance to come out and take care of some matters before I got caught by you. How have you been, Master?

"Forget about me." Master Deathseeker shook his head, "Sounds like you had it rough. Have you made enough preparations to survive in the True Immortal World?

"Kinda…"

Davis shrugged before he asked, "Did you rush here after learning I was having a face-off with the Time Divergent?"

"Yes…" Master Deathseeker lightly nodded, "I thought you would annihilate him, but unexpectedly, it was reported to me that you were having a table talk with him."

"Well," Davis appeared amused, "Killing him isn't a problem. The problem is the consequences, which made me think again."

"..." Master Deathseeker raised his brows, "Is he that big of an opponent in your eyes?"

"Not exactly, but he definitely is a huge threat." Davis warned, "If the Ghost Tear Hall tries to assassinate him, you'll never succeed, and the end result would be your complete destruction."

"…!"

"You have such a high opinion of him."

Master Deathseeker sounded intrigued, causing Davis to shake his head.

"Potential-wise, he is as good as me. It would be better not to get on his bad side, and he wouldn't touch the Ghost Tear Hall either since it is public knowledge that we're somewhat allied."

"Haha." Master Deathseeker laughed lightly, "And here I came here worried that he accepted the Oracular Reaver Abode's proposal."

"Hmm?" Davis raised his brows, appearing confused, "What does Master mean?"

"Well, all four assassination sects tried to recruit him including the Ghost Tear Hall but we got clues that the other assassination sects tried to recruit him for the purpose of lashing out against you or guard them from you. It was certainly the case for the Oracular Reaver Abode, who were also somewhat skilled in Time Laws. It was rumored that they offered him a sweet deal if he accepts the assassination mission of killing you."

"However, he killed all the assassins who tried to recruit him, so I guess he didn't accept any of the recruitment deals he received."

'Woah, he really does respect me, huh…'

Davis slightly felt bad for killing Kronos Alistair twice. However, he didn't regret imposing restrictions on him since it wasn't like he would not kill someone he respected. In fact, in the cultivation world, killing strong and respected ones was a way to hone their Law Heart.

"That's good to hear. This means our deal is still on but then again, I would warn the Ghost Tear Hall to not approach him as he's too dangerous."

"Understood."

Master Deathseeker didn't ask the reason. He imagined that his disciples must have his reasons, and the Time Divergent really destroyed a major power that controlled time better than most, so they didn't want to needlessly offend him.

That's why they all called back their people instead of going after him, even though he killed their people.

"Master, I'm on my way to see a longing heart, so if it's not anything important, I'll come to meet you later this night or the next day."

Davis let out his intentions, causing Master Deathseeker to look amused.

"Some woman, huh… you never forget to be a womanizer even if your life is at stake, so I suppose there's no stopping you."

"Hmm? Is there anything that requires my presence?"

"One of our Ancestors is suffering from Deathly Madness Sickness."

Davis raised his brows, "Master wants me to cure that Ancestor?"

Master Deathseeker paused before he nodded his head, "He is our Second Ancestor and is on his deathbed due to the Deathly Madness Sickness acting up."

"I see." Davis pursed his lips, nodding his head a second later, "Is that person related to me in any way or you?"

"You could say he was the one who let me do as I pleased, including letting you do as you pleased despite the strict customs and regulations we have."

"Oh- then I suppose I can't refuse."

Davis lifted his hand and rubbed his head, but Master Deathseeker continued.

"He also participated in the assassination of Accursed Warlock and the war against the other assassination sects, so pushing himself hard caused the Deathly Madness Sickness to act up, and he is now on his deathbed. If we don't cure it, he will go insane and end up dying to the death energy within him or disposed of by us before he causes harm to the sect."

"Jeez, I already accepted the request, and I'll try my best, so there's no need to make me feel responsible any further."

Master Deathseeker's lips curled as he heard Davis, but that smirk quickly disappeared.

"Go, there's still time as we can keep the death energy suppressed for two to three days. Perhaps, the Second Ancestor can recover on his own but if he couldn't, then we would need your help."

Davis's expression also turned solemn, "What is this Deathly Madness Sickness you speak of, Master?"

"The Deathly Madness Sickness is induced by the cultivation method we use."

Master Deathseeker started, sighing lightly, "All of us who train in the manual I gave you have it, even me, and if we forget to keep our death energy within check, we will lose control of it, and it would go berserk with us, causing internal failure in every aspect of our body and soul. Not only would our senses be too perturbed to regain sanity, but the pain would be too much to bear, so we will go on a rampage until we die."

"…"

Davis didn't know what to say as he was immune to such a side effect due to Fallen Heaven. He believed that he was now immune to it even without Fallen Heaven, as his physique had achieved equilibrium and was perfectly in balance.

"There are many ways to counter it, as our Ghost Tear Hall's history is long but Second Ancestor is already old since he wasted so much of his blood essence already, so we figure that only you can save him."

Master Deathseeker's eyes glowed with a deathly light.

"Alright, let's go now."

"No need." Master Deathseeker raised his hand, "Take care of whatever it is, and come meet me tonight in the location inscribed on this map. That's where the true hidden headquarters of our Ghost Tear Hall is located."

"True… hidden…"

Davis received a scroll from Master Deathseeker and smiled at it.

This meant there were fake headquarters somewhere present to deceive enemies.

Nonetheless, Davis nodded and rushed past Master Deathseeker, making a mental note to cure him of his problems as well.

Seems like fate had it that he meet Fairy Aila Cherryweave today.

Without being disturbed, he arrived at the Cherryweave Family's Province rather quickly. Although the land they owned was less, it was considerably more resourceful, so they could also defend better.

He entered their capital city soon, and like the Alstreim Family, their population boasted a similar number of Cherryweaves, their hair color peach-pink or cherry-red.

This land was like a bunch of cherry blossom petals walking all over the place, making Davis slightly taken aback by the scene.
