Chen Xiao looked up and was surprised to see Li Kani.

Seeing him, Li Kani looked as if she had a guilty conscience; after all, she still hadn’t fulfilled her promise to him.

Chen Xiao sneered, "Miss Li, the guilty look on your face is quite amusing. So, the promise is still unfulfilled, and now I run into you at the airport. Trying to make a run for it?"

Li Kani retorted, "Nonsense! I have business in Zhonghai. Who’s running away?! Besides, you never gave me a chance to fulfill my promise that day. It’s too late to bring it up now. Our previous agreement is void."

Chen Xiao scoffed coldly, "It seems you’re trying to renege on the deal."

Li Kani tried to argue but found herself at a loss for words. "So what if I am? Are you going to force me?"

Chen Xiao just smirked. Too lazy to engage with her further, he closed his eyes to rest. He hadn’t forgotten his purpose for traveling to Zhonghai.

A hint of urgency also appeared on Li Kani’s face. Her sudden trip back to Zhonghai wasn’t to evade Chen Xiao or renege on her debt. It was because she had just received news from home: her father had suddenly fallen ill and was now in a coma. The sound of heavy footsteps approached as the terrified flight attendants huddled to one side.

"Take them down!" The plane’s security officers rushed in.

"Ants," one of the men scoffed with disdain. In just three or four seconds, all the security officers were sent flying, their weapons falling into the hands of the assailants.

Chen Xiao opened his eyes.

"Miss Li, we know you’re here. To avoid harming any innocent people, you had best come out willingly."

Terrified, Li Kani’s face turned pale. She cowered behind her seat, not daring to show herself.

"Stubborn to the bitter end, aren’t you!" A tall man strode into the cabin. His harsh gaze swept over the passengers before finally locking onto Li Kani.

Li Kani trembled. "What do you want?"

"Sorry, Miss Li, but someone doesn’t want you to return to Zhonghai alive."

At his words, Li Kani took a deep breath. "Who sent you?"

"Are you an idiot? Do you really think I’d tell you?" the tall man scoffed.

"Miss Li, stop struggling. No one can save you. It’s time to go!" As he spoke, the tall man reached out to grab her.

"Heh heh, boss, this one’s a real looker," a shorter man snickered lewdly. "Look at that chest, that ass, that face... It’d be a real shame to just kill her."

"You’re thinking with your groin!" the tall man snapped, slapping him on the head. Then, he grew pensive. "But you have a point. It’s been a while since I had any fun."
