District 42-Chapter 106: Domination
The prisoners started to arrive at the canteen at the same time as Olaf got there with the weapons and ammunition.
They gathered in the center of the canteen. It was a lot of inmates, but that place was made to accommodate multiple people at the same time, so it wasn’t a problem.
Everyone picked up their segregated part of the guns. The ones who knew how to assemble the weapons helped as they could to raise the productivity of the work and save more time.
Olaf was told to lead them to do so. Casper was clear when he said that organization would be everything in that plan.
If the prisoners forgot that they were a team, not a bunch of strangers fighting individually, they would fail miserably.
It was hard on Olaf to bear such a responsibility, however Alfar would be there too, and Vick was the only acquaintanced of Casper that knew how to deal with people better than the Dark elf.
With both of his partners helping with the harmony of that place, Casper didn’t need to worry about keeping an eye on them.
It took around 10 minutes for 80% of the prisoners to be armed and prepared to fight. They kept waiting at the canteen for more instructions, though some of them were idiots enough to go running before anyone could (or they just couldn’t hold their urge to fight, due to the drug they inhaled).
"Listen now, scumbags!" A voice totally different from what they heard before resounded. It was not too loud, one could easily don’t listen to it, but even so, all the prisoners paid attention to the person who gave that call.
In the center of the canteen, Alfar was standing with his dead eyes looking at all of them. He had the same countenance as before, but that aura surrounding him came back. Something invisible, intangible, but that had a presence in the air and pressured everyone in that place.
It was in times like that when the prisoners knew why Alfar was chosen as a leader for another faction.
He didn’t need beautiful or motivating words, persuading skills, or an imposing voice. In truth, he had not anything like that. However, the only thing he needed was his natural presence.
"Great. Casper wanted me to say to you guys that the plan is starting now, of course. And he wants that you act like an entire faction.
"The second step of our plan is to take Halden while liberating the other prisoners. I will split you into two groups: the rescue, which will need to free the others, and the attack, which is the group that will be going to surrender or, when in need, kill the Ridires." The word kill came out from his mouth with difficulty, but the prisoners seemed to be filled with joy by that matter.
He tried to brush it off and focus on his work to separate the groups. The priority for the attack obviously would be the people who couldn’t stand with the Berserker effects anymore.
Olaf remained with some prisoners finishing to make the hundreds of weapons they did. He was willing to arm all the inmates as soon as possible the next time they did that.
In no time, the prisoners were all split into groups and had an area of the prison designated to act. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
The organization was made very quickly, and although some of them did not seem like cooperating with each other, mostly were willing to do whatever they needed to for the sake of escape from Halden.
Soon, they were leaving the canteen.
Alfar, Olaf, and the people crafting the guns were left behind.
"Ok, we are already in the next step. We could control an entire Block and organize the prisoners. I think we did it just well, even though there are a lot of crazy Vikings running through the complex." Alfar wasn’t the type of joke around, and his sense of humor was completely null, so he took that comment from Olaf with the same dead expression as always.
"Yeah, we did. I thought that the different factions wouldn’t stand beside one another like that. There were some arguments between them, but in the end, they forgot about the differences and tried to fight together." Behind the Dark elf’s eyes, he had some proudness. After all, see Halden all together like that was his dream since he deserted the laboratory and got jailed for this.
"Yeah, we must be proud, man. In the end, we were the ones passing from difficult times arguing and negotiating with these guys, even though Casper that started with this." Olaf stood from the ground, letting the guns aside.
He was willing to say something more to Alfar but got surprised when he saw Anton walking beside him. He nearly jumped from fear.
"A-Anton!?"
"Yeah... You two didn’t do very well in that rescue." He spoke, in a criticizing tone.
Both Alfar and Olaf got silent under his affirmation.
"You ran away, didn’t you? What moral do you have to say something? Of the three of us, you were the more capable to do everything even by yourself." The hoarse voice of Alfar was as threatening as before.
Anton seemed to be about to snap about that situation, and he gave a step forward, narrowing his eyes.
"H-hey, we are in the middle of something important, you know?" Olaf intervened, with his voice so lower that it was hard to tell what he exactly said.
"Fine. But remember this, Alfar. I am not an aberration like you. I cannot kill that many prisoners alone, I am a human that happened to be very smart. And if sometimes I need to choose between me or you two, you know what’s the answer."
He turned his back and walked away.
For some reason, the last quote of Anton got stuck in his mind.
"Let’s go, Olaf. I help you to carry the guns with those prisoners. We still need to go to 7 other blocks. It can take a while." His partner nodded and then stood up with him, but never stopping to look towards the exit of the canteen, from where Anton left.
"What kind of thing Casper asked him to do now? Did he asked something?" He wondered, but never expressed his thoughts.
...
As the troops of prisoners started to advance, the situation in Halden got more chaotic.
Casper planned to make a big prison revolution. They would use a surprise element to subdue every Ridire in Halden’s complex and dominate the entire prison.
At that point, nobody should be able to even dream about that alliance with all factions, since everything was made in secret.
That’s why Casper turned off the canteen’s cameras in his speech in front of Ragnar’s and Alfar’s faction. That’s why Olaf, who was basically an invisible guy for the Ridire, was chosen to interact with the other leaders along with Alfar to make everyone participate in that plan to escape from Halden.
Discretion was Casper’s main priority in that action since the prisoners would probably lose into a direct battle with the Ridires.
The improvised guns were nearly worthless against the bulletproof vests, not even stunning them when they were shot there. The Ridires had more resources and tools to use in a battle, and they had high quality.
Without the surprise element, that was a losing battle.
From the cameras that he was accessing, the White warrior could see in real-time the events happening at the complex.
The Ridires were completely well organized by Alfar, and a great part wasn’t accomplishing their roles as they should, but they were winning the fights against the Ridires.
The warriors were caught by surprise and received a rain of bullets slaughtering them in a matter of seconds.
Watch the prisoners fighting for their freedom was the same as seeing a tsunami sweeping the prison.
In no time, Alfar and Olaf could arrive at the other Blocks, knocking down the guards that were there, and freeing prisoners from their cells, preparing them for battle afterward.
Everything was going according to his plan. He was getting optimistic about the outcome of that escape.
"We already dominated half of the Blocks or so. If we keep up like this, the second step will be complete sooner than I expected..."
Casper couldn’t wait for the next step, because he would enter into action in that part.
In front of him, now, not just one but a lot of different screens were showing the cameras from Halden.
He had already disabled the alarms and alerts from the prison. Besides, the security room was the only place with enough range to communicate the upper levels of the Third Lab, but he messed up with their signal, and the prisoners were almost there to dominate that place as well.
Nonetheless, the smile on Casper’s face disappeared completely when he looked to the cameras of the entrance of Halden’s complex, the elevator that connected there.
"W-what? How possibly they could...?" He was without words, seeing the reinforcements from the Ridire troops arriving at Halden.
