Dimensional Keeper: All My Skills Are at Level 100-Chapter 1149: Talks with Nero
A few days passed quietly as Max focused on understanding the Void Genesis Art. The passage of time was almost meaningless inside his Dimension of Time. Hours blurred into days, and days into something far longer. ππ«ππ²ππππ§π πππ₯.πππ
The art was immense in scopeβfar beyond anything he had ever attempted to comprehend before. Every line of its structure was layered with countless meanings, every principle branched into infinite interpretations, and every motion required a perfect harmony between destruction and creation.
Even though it was only the first stageβSpatial ErasureβMax soon realized that this single aspect could consume a lifetime of study. The concept of erasing existence itself went beyond simply cutting or breaking space.
It required understanding what space truly wasβits flow, its density, its connection to time, matter, and even the laws of causality. Only then could one erase it completely and recreate it from the void.
In those few days, Max experienced several moments of deep enlightenment. During meditation, the world around him would blur into streams of silver and violet light. He saw flashes of collapsing dimensions and empty horizons folding into themselves.
Sometimes, he could even feel the faint echo of the Void Monarchβs will guiding him, whispering through the silence of his thoughts. Each time that happened, the space around him would tremble lightly, as though it remembered the power of its ancient master.
By the end of those days, Max understood at least a fragment of how the technique functioned. He could create a small ripple that erased a thin layer of spatial structure for a brief moment before letting it reform naturally. It was dangerous, unstable, and demanded absolute concentration. But even that unstable fragment could erase a small mountain if used without restraint.
Opening his eyes at last, Max exhaled deeply. The familiar scenery of his Dimension of Time dissolved, and the real world of the secret domain returned. The floating platforms of the spatial trial shimmered in the distance, suspended in the air like fragments of glass.
He glanced around and noticed immediately that the place looked much emptier than before. Most of the platforms were vacant. Only a few figures remained in meditation, their auras faint but steady. Clearly, most of the geniuses had already left after consolidating their understanding of the Fourth Level Concept of Space.
Maxβs gaze wandered until it fell on one familiar presenceβNero. The silver-haired genius was seated cross-legged a few platforms away, the faint glow of space surrounding him. Unlike the others, Nero didnβt seem to be meditating. He was calmly staring into the distance, as though deep in his own thoughts.
Max stood up from his platform and called out, his voice calm but clear. "Nero, can we talk a bit?"
Nero turned toward him, his expression lightening when he saw who it was. A faint smile curved his lips. "Why not?" he said casually.
The two of them descended from their platforms, landing softly on a flat piece of ground near the base of the trial field. The air here was calm, filled only with the faint hum of spatial energy.
"What is it?" Nero asked, crossing his arms as he faced Max.
Max didnβt waste time. "Do you know the name of the golden crown genius who also comprehended the Fourth Level Concept of Space before us?" he asked directly.
"What happened?" Nero asked, his brows drawing together in a deep frown. The sudden sharpness in Maxβs tone earlier had caught his attention. He could already guess who Max was referring to, but he wanted to hear it directly from him.
After all, if his assumption was correct, that person should have been one of the earlier participants in the trialβone of the first geniuses to comprehend the Fourth Level Concept of Space before Max and himself had arrived.
"That guy sneaked up on me when I was heading toward this trial," Max said, his voice calm but carrying a cold undertone that made Neroβs frown deepen. A faint smile, one that wasnβt quite pleasant, touched Maxβs lips as he added, "And when he realized he couldnβt kill me, he ran away. Talk about a loser."
The casual cruelty in Maxβs words sent a small chill down Neroβs spine. He looked at Max for a long moment, trying to gauge whether he was being serious or just trying to provoke a reaction. But the calm, unbothered expression on Maxβs face told him that it wasnβt arrogance. It was fact. Whoever that attacker was, he had failed completely.
Nero exhaled slowly, genuinely surprised. He hadnβt expected something like this. He had known that the golden crown geniuses were strong and that conflicts among them were inevitable, he himself was one, but for one of them to attack Max and end up being the one who fled? That was a different story.
He rubbed his chin thoughtfully, muttering, "I see... So thatβs how it was." His eyes narrowed slightly as he thought back to the few golden crown geniuses who had entered before them. Only a handful of names came to mind, and among them was one person who matched Maxβs description perfectly.
"I think I know who youβre talking about," Nero said finally, lifting his gaze to meet Maxβs. "If Iβm not mistaken, his name is Mike, a genius from the Crimson Void World. I remember hearing about him before the trials began. Heβs one of those geniuses who rely heavily on ambush techniquesβquick assassinations, manipulation of space, and instant escape tactics. The kind who hides behind his comprehension instead of fighting head-on."
"Sounds about right," Max replied, his tone flat but laced with faint irritation. "He thought he could catch me off guard, but his movements were pathetic. I saw through everything before he could even attack properly."
Nero blinked, taken aback again. "You mean you saw through his space movement?"
Max nodded, his eyes turning colder. "He used short-range space flickers to confuse his opponent, but those tricks donβt work on me. He realized it too late. The moment he noticed his little teleportations were useless, he ran away."
Nero fell silent for a few seconds. He wasnβt easily impressed, but what Max had just said made him reevaluate everything he thought he knew about his strength. Mike was known for his control over space flickering, a technique that even most experts at the Fourth Level Concept of Space struggled to follow. Yet Max had countered it effortlessly.
A faint smile appeared on Neroβs face as he muttered quietly, "So even someone like Mike couldnβt do anything to you." He shook his head slightly, almost laughing in disbelief. "Iβm starting to wonder where your true limits even lie, Max. Youβve barely reached the peak of Legend Rank, and yet geniuses at the peak of Mythic Rank are losing to you."
Max didnβt respond immediately. He merely shrugged.
