Tomato suddenly spoke up, breaking the brief silence, her voice carrying a weight that commanded attention. "While I roamed the edges of known existence, I heard whispers," she began, her gaze distant as if reliving the moments with a playful expression on her lips. "Hell’s Queen has a regent—a being so cunning and ambitious that even the devils speak her name in hushed tones. Rumors say she plans to claim the known universe for Hell."

The room grew tense. Even the werewolves, hardened by war and violence, exchanged uneasy glances. After all, it was the Lenny family’s goal to become a superior power.

And here was one strong and daring enough to even infiltrate their midst.

Surely, they were lacking.

Enel’s expression darkened, his jaw tightening as he absorbed the information. He nodded slowly, but his eyes betrayed his anger.

"This is news to me," he admitted, his voice low and simmering with restrained fury. "But I am pissed that their claws have been sent into my territory."

Victor raised a brow at his words. The other commanders were no exception.

For some reason, even though Enel was the lowest ranked, eyes had now been stationed on him.

Turning sharply to Victor, Enel’s tone shifted to one of authority. "I’ll be taking charge now," he declared, leaving no room for argument. "If devils, who are usually disorganized and chaotic, can manage this, it means there are more among us—hidden and waiting."

Victor frowned, his brow furrowed. "What do you mean by that?"

However, by now, there was something about Enel that pulled him in. Even in the hundreds of years of experience and wisdom that he had, he could not resist the pull.

Also, his mark of the Lenny family had been tugging at him for a while now, as if instructing commands at his soul whenever Enel opened his mouth.

Enel didn’t reply. Instead, he raised a hand, and shadowy runes began to materialize around him, swirling in an intricate dance of dark energy. The air seemed to ripple and distort as the runes expanded outward, enveloping everyone in the room.

Suddenly, the world around them shifted. The walls of the interrogation room melted away, replaced by an ethereal plane bathed in otherworldly light. The ground beneath their feet shimmered like liquid silver, and the air itself seemed alive, pulsating with energy. Everyone present could see their bodies glowing in spectral hues, their ethereal forms revealed.

The werewolves looked at themselves in shock. Each of them had a distinct glow—greens and yellows of varying intensity, some vibrant, others muted. These colours reflected the strength and purity of their souls.

Raising a soul’s power was a near-impossible feat, achieved only through lifetimes of discipline or exceptional circumstances. Yet, amidst the greens and yellows, two figures stood out.

Naturally because of their past connection to a plane that was very soul-tuned.

Tomato’s ethereal form radiated a vibrant blue, rivalling Enel’s own. Her presence was commanding, her glowing form pulsating with raw, untapped power. Victor and Perseus exchanged uneasy glances, their souls reflecting hues of emerald and electric green.

Enel broke the silence. "I don’t know what other blinds devils might use, but the soul tells the truth."

At his words, everyone began scanning their surroundings. The soul, after all, revealed one’s true nature—unaltered and unhidden.

Gasps erupted as several commanders, their ethereal forms grotesque, were exposed. Horns jutted from their spectral heads, their bodies twisted and deformed. These were not werewolves—they were demons in disguise.

Enel’s lips curled into a triumphant smile. "Got you!"

Victor and Perseus moved instantly. Victor’s ethereal form erupted with obsidian claws, long and sharp, slicing through the air with deadly precision. He lunged at one of the devils, his strikes imbued with a primal ferocity that left no room for escape. Perseus followed, his body crackling with green lightning that illuminated the plane, each bolt striking with pinpoint accuracy.

The demons screamed as their ethereal forms disintegrated under the assault. Victor tore through them, his claws ripping apart their very essence, while Perseus’s lightning burned them into nothingness. The air filled with the acrid scent of burning energy, evidence of their destruction.

Marian and Kael, two of the highest-ranking commanders, stood frozen in shock.

Marian could not help but bite her lower lips.

And Kael looked at Enel like he was seeing a mini monster.

Kael, usually composed and stoic, could only mutter, "This... this was among us all along?"

Marian simply shook her head, speechless as the scene unfolded. The remaining werewolves stared in a mix of horror and awe, their faith in their comrades shaken but their respect for Enel undeniably growing.

Through it all, Enel stood motionless, his glowing blue form towering like a silent judge. "The soul doesn’t need to lie," he murmured, his voice cutting through the chaos like a blade. "And neither do I."

For the first time, the room fell into an eerie silence, save for the faint hum of the ethereal plane around them.

Enel waved his hands again and everything returned to normal.

The spies had been rooted out, both physically and in the soul realm. However, something was still not right.

Firstly, the mission statement of the Satan system had not changed and secondly, it had clearly stated that Enel was to bring out the spy and punish the person. But had said nothing about other spies.

This meant that all the other spies of devils and demons were not the target and were just the bonus kills.

The really target was still around, and this person could obviously not be brought out the normal conventional way.

Enel turned to them, "there is still more. And I am sure I can bring em out. Which means this. Until I am sure all of you are...no one leaves."

This time around, no one voiced out any complain at his words.

Enel smiled, "now let’s begin... Tell me, about the last time the city was attacked by Fallen Angels."
