Destiny Mission of game 'Star Ring'-Chapter 1547 - 1228: Searching (Second Update)
"The probability of getting lost isn’t high. I have a hypothesis: either Tiram couldn’t remember clearly, resulting in an error in the map, or the terrain has changed. The landscape of Ceres isn’t constant; dramatic changes often occur here."
The Creator-Devourer pondered for a moment before responding.
Su Mo’s expression shifted, then he spoke.
"So, we have to gamble, right? If we bet on Tiram’s map being correct, we’ll have to try crossing the storm area ahead."
"Yes."
The Creator-Devourer replied.
"Alright, let’s take a gamble."
Su Mo didn’t waste words. He waved to Domak and led it onward.
Domak was somewhat unwilling, but it still followed Su Mo.
In fact, Su Mo’s journey had been quite smooth, thanks to the map’s guidance, so he didn’t get lost. Moreover, Domak played a big role; standing ahead, the monsters along the way fled faster than rabbits upon seeing it.
If Su Mo were on his own, even if those monsters couldn’t defeat him, they probably wouldn’t hesitate to confront him.
Soon, Su Mo controlled the mecha to enter the storm area.
Instantly, the world darkened as terrifying winds attacked indiscriminately, with dreadful Thunder Light Flash occasionally striking.
The V-series Biological Mecha, Light of Sin Abyss, projected a virtual warning interface.
"Warning, entering storm area."
Su Mo ignored the warning and continued onward.
Bang~
Suddenly, Su Mo felt as if his spirit had been struck. Just now, his mecha was hit by falling Thunder Light, but was buffered by the AT field outerwear. He couldn’t help but complain.
"This Thunder Light is quite fierce."
"It’s nothing to you, just take it."
The Creator-Devourer responded.
"Of course, it’s nothing to you; you’re not the one getting struck."
Su Mo couldn’t help but retort, but despite the complaints, he pressed on against the storm.
Domak also occasionally got struck by Thunder Light, but unlike Su Mo, it was much more aggressive, not even bothering to deploy the AT field outerwear, relying directly on its strong body.
Yet, each time it got hit, it shivered as if electrified, looking exceptionally comical.
Su Mo was a bit confused.
"Domak, this fellow’s crazy for enduring it like this."
"Monster bodies are tougher than you think; this level of Thunder Light won’t kill it, and it even strengthens its muscles."
The Creator-Devourer replied calmly.
Su Mo twitched slightly, leading Domak forward continuously.
The further they went, the darker the sky grew!
Thunder Light flashes more frequently, and seemingly increased in intensity.
With a lesser performing mecha, they’d have been doomed by now.
Still, controlling the Light of Sin Abyss to advance became very challenging for Su Mo. Just then, he noticed countless light dots flickering ahead.
"What’s that?"
Su Mo squinted and asked. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
"Not clear, interference is too strong here."
The Creator-Devourer replied deep-toned.
Meanwhile, Domak kept making anxious noises, seemingly uneasy.
Su Mo tensed, focusing on the light dots ahead.
Gradually, Su Mo discerned their shapes; creatures flickering with Thunder Light, resembling floating entities.
They seemed to be special monster species; normally, nothing frightening. Mostly type III, larger ones type IV, with only type V as leaders.
But the problem was their numbers.
"Run!"
Su Mo shouted to Domak without hesitation.
Upon hearing Su Mo, Domak dashed to the left, sprinting even faster than Su Mo.
"Damn, wait for me!"
Su Mo hurriedly chased after.
Meanwhile, Su Mo glanced back, seeing an overwhelming horde of monsters chasing them.
Those monsters began unleashing countless Thunder Light, aiming at Su Mo.
Su Mo’s face turned dark, speeding up further, yet still occasionally getting hit.
"Ah~"
...
Several hours later, Su Mo and Domak dashed out of the disaster-streaked area.
Su Mo glanced back, ensuring the monsters hadn’t chased them out, then kicked Domak while complaining.
"Why’d you run so fast? Have some dignity, will you?"
"Wah wah."
Domak responded pitifully.
Just then, the Creator-Devourer spoke deeply to Su Mo.
"Stop it. Look ahead."
The Creator-Devourer replied deeply.
Su Mo was momentarily stunned, then lifted his head to look, spotting continuous mountain ranges remarkably resembling Tiram’s map.
"We found it."
"Yeah, managed to find it by luck."
"So crossed these mountains means we’ve reached our destination."
Su Mo’s heart burned with excitement.
"That’s right."
"Let’s go!"
Su Mo immediately manipulated the mecha towards the mountain range, and Domak quickly followed.
...
Hours later, Su Mo labored to cross the endless mountain ranges.
Suddenly, a vast basin appeared in view, though Su Mo frowned, deploying the mecha to crouch.
In the basin’s center lay a camp-like base, surrounded by fortresses, with floating black CSG-02 Tree Eye guards, patrolling mecha squads covering the ground.
It seemed to have been established long ago.
"Look, those mechas and weapons all bear a green firefly emblem."
The Creator-Devourer reminded Su Mo.
Su Mo glanced, rubbing his chin and said troubledly, "This is troublesome, that’s the Immortal Empire’s emblem. Could this base belong to the Immortal Empire?"
"It is theirs."
The Creator-Devourer replied confidently.
"Wait, why would these guys build a base here? Ceres is vast! Isn’t this too much coincidence?"
Su Mo found it somewhat baffling.
"There aren’t many coincidences in this world."
"So you think they’re after the Pala Fruit? Could it already be in their hands?"
Su Mo’s eyelid twitched, feeling an ominous premonition. If so, the problem is huge, given the Immortal Empire’s notorious isolation and difficult communication.
Despite everyone currently belonging to the Third Birthplace, they remain diplomatically aloof.
"Not necessarily. Look closely at the map Tiram gave you, the destination has an underground symbol, indicating the Pala Fruit is underground, which they may not have noticed. But one thing’s certain, whether or not they’re after the Pala Fruit, they surely have another purpose for building the base here."
The Creator-Devourer analyzed.
