DESTINY GAMES-Chapter 312 : Strange Things.
The TV show was not something unique to him. This was going on for a lot of other players regardless of whether they went to the foreign battlefield or not
It is something pretty common to any player that is popular. Any interesting character will gather some attention before their games.
While this phenomenon is common, the effects of this buzz on him were pretty significant.
The most important one is the increase in fan count. As more people found out about him and watched his games, he gained more fans and became more powerful thanks to the increase in temporary destiny.
All of his previous games can be watched in the Tower of Destiny. So anyone interested in him can always see what he is capable of. This way he gained more fans and haters before his next game.
The second major effect was the increase in the number of messages he was receiving from people.
His competitors wanted to get in touch with him for alliances. His fans wanted to praise him, while his enemies wanted to admonish him.
Corpos also wanted to sponsor him. They want to provide him with publicity and resources in exchange for support from him.
This support could be as simple as advertising their product. It could also be as big as helping them to eliminate their enemies within the game or outside of it.
All of these caused his inbox to fill up. Since he wasn't doing anything in the core of the world, he decided to busy himself with reading these messages.
He mostly skimmed through the messages. He didn't dwell too much on most of them.
The only ones he stopped to consider were the messages from Corpos with offers of sponsorships.
He only considered them briefly. It is because they didn't offer him anything he couldn't get on his own.
Besides, he was willing to leave the core of the world to meet with anyone. It is not only because Icon is hunting him, but also because doing so can lead to trouble such as an ambush from the Corpos.
He sneered as he considered the offers and said, "Who is to say that I am not the enemy they want to eliminate?"
He can already see the scene where he is surrounded and attacked. Even if they don't attack him to kill him, they might do it to capture him or force him to reveal his identity.
He had half a mind to send one of his shadow clones to pretend to be him so that he could have some fun with them. But he didn't want to tempt fate by linking his shadows to himself.
His shadows have offended a lot of people. One of the recent people he has offended is a demigod.
Augustus already has a lot of enemies. It won't do to add Kelvin's enemies and the enemies of his shadows to the mix.
So he decided to be content with whiling away his time within the mental space of the Tower of Destiny, checking messages and watching the games of his competitors in order to gather information about them.
One other thing that drew his attention and even made him focus was a message from a fan detailing the ability of the competitors of his next game.
The fan sent a long text message that contained a lot of details and analysis of his competitors. He didn't skim through the message this time.
They also sent an audiovisual version of that same message. The person who sent the message didn't show themselves in the message. The message just contained clips from the various games of his competitors showing some of the things the fan was talking about in their text message.
The text was long, and it took him 3 hours to finish reading it. The video was many times longer. It was more than 24 hours long, yet he didn't miss any part of it.
He was so impressed with the message that he began to consider a certain possibility.
He asked himself, "Could there be someone out there who actually wants me to succeed? Or is this a scheme to mislead me?"
He found both possibilities likely and interesting. After all, he has fans and haters. There was no way to know for sure who was who.
He found both possibilities interesting because it meant that either someone hated or liked him enough to spend so much time and effort to create the message.
It had taken him more than a day to finish the video message, so it must have taken whoever sent the message longer to create it. This shows that they were sincere in their hatred or support of him.
He didn't take the possibilities to heart much. The message was interesting and potentially helpful, but he also made sure to do his own research.
It didn't matter if the person who sent the message wanted to help him or mislead him because he could only trust himself.
Even if they were being helpful, which is highly likely, there is nothing wrong with doing his own research. It will only enhance his knowledge of his competitors and make the preparation for his advancement game better.
So he buried himself in research. Eventually three weeks went by, and it was time for his advancement game.
When it was time for his game, he entered the mental space of the Tower of Destiny ahead of time.
There was already a white swirling tunnel there waiting for him. Rather than be forced into the tunnel, he chose to rush headfirst into it.
The world twisted and blurred around him. He even lost his vision.
His stomach twisted and lurched for a little bit because of the teleportation. But the discomfort didn't last long because his body was strong, and he had a powerful recovery.
When he looked around, he saw that he had appeared on a large platform. He wasn't the only one on the platform.
There were other people on the platform too. They were bound in place like him.
They couldn't speak yet. Even their movements were restricted. All they could do was move on the same spot. They couldn't leave or move their arms.
He recognized all of the people on the platform to be his competitors. So he was able to determine that he had been teleported to the location of his game.
The platform they are standing on isn't transparent this time, so he can't see what's below it. But the platform is still at the center of a stadium with the audience around them shouting in encouragement.
Above them was a smaller glass platform. It was surrounded by large screens, which were currently displaying the cheering audience.
There was an assortment of furniture on the glass platform. Most of them were chairs and tables, but there was also a bed on the platform.
There was a fridge, a stove, and cupboards on the platform too. It made the platform look like the dining area close to a kitchen.
There was someone who looked like a human on the platform. She was the only one on the platform.
She looked human, but she had silver metallic skin. Even her hair was silver. Only her eyes looked to be made of flesh, not metal.
She appeared to be cooking something on the stove. She ignored them and the audience while the competitors continued to arrive.
There was a black crow standing on her shoulder. It watched her cook all the while cawing loudly.
When the last competitor arrived, she finally put aside the egg that she was cooking. She put it into a plate and sat down at the table to eat.
As she was eating, a voice came from the crow on her shoulder. It said to everyone in a voice that was amplified so that everyone could hear it, "Greetings, people of Earth-11. I am Ada from Earth-10. I shall be your moderator for today."

It flapped its wings and soared into the air. Then it swooped down from the glass platform and began circling the air above the competitors.
It looked them over and said, "Today we have 76 challengers. There were supposed to be 100. I wonder where the other 24 went."
No one knew where the other 24 went either. But everyone knew that whoever wasn't present for their game was already dead.
That was the most likely, if not the only, reason why a player wouldn't show up for their game. If they were dead, then it meant that they had died in the period of one month since they were assigned to this game.
The crow said, "So the competition had already started before the game started. From the looks of things, it seems it wasn't brutal. I hope you guys will do better today."
"Don't do it for me. Do it for your fans and game points. Do your best and show all of us a good time. If you do well enough to impress me, I will reward you with the title of MVP."

A/N Who do you think the moderator is? Is it the lady or the crow?
