Chapter 900: Chapter 905: Why Doesn’t He Stop 6

“I’m a bit tired and want to go back to my room to rest,” Gu Qingxin said, picking up her scarf and standing up.

“Then you go rest first. I’ll call you when the food is ready,” Lin Yin replied.

“Alright.” Gu Qingxin returned to her room, closed the door, leaned against it, raised her scarf to her chest, and sighed helplessly.

She knew Beiming Han must be upset.

Because of those photos…

But why didn’t he ask her about it? Why wouldn’t he listen to her explanation?

Did he just sentence her to death like that?

Didn’t he trust her at all?

When she went back to the bed, the memories of them entwined on it filled her mind. Every corner of her life was imprinted with his presence, leaving no space for her own.

Everywhere, there were only memories of them.

She took off her down coat, kicked off her shoes, and lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling in a daze.

She kept replaying today’s events in her mind. Who released those videos of Gu Yunci?

The answer was almost clear: she knew he wouldn’t have appeared at the Gu Family’s wedding for no reason.

After Lin Yin had eaten, she called Gu Qingxin out for lunch. Gu Qingxin looked at the lavish lunch on the table and asked, “Why did you cook so much today?”

“You’re rarely home, so I cooked a bit more. Mr. Xiao sent a ginseng root last time. I stewed it and it turned out quite well. Have a bit more in the afternoon; you look a bit pale,” Lin Yin said, holding her daughter’s hand.

“It’s nothing, really. I just came in from outside, and it’s too cold. I’m in good health now,” Gu Qingxin said, blushing and avoiding her mother’s gaze while serving her some dishes.

“You eat as well, don’t just serve me,” Lin Yin served her some dishes too.

After the meal, Gu Qingxin wanted to wash the dishes, but Lin Yin stopped her and told her to go and rest in her room instead.

In the afternoon, Lin Yin finished making the stew and served Gu Qingxin a bowl. Gu Qingxin sat on the couch, watching TV and savoring her mother’s stew.

With a smile, Lin Yin sat next to her. Once she finished her stew, Lin Yin served her another bowl.

“Thanks, Mom. It’s really the best when you’re around,” Gu Qingxin hugged Lin Yin.

“By the way, you told me last time that you ranked in your competition. Which place did you win?” Lin Yin asked.

“First place!” Gu Qingxin replied proudly.

“Really? That’s amazing!” Lin Yin looked at her in surprise.

“Of course!” Gu Qingxin promptly wanted to show her mother the dress Beiming Han had made for her from flowers. But she quickly realized she shouldn’t, to avoid revealing the truth.

“Mom, what are you knitting?” Gu Qingxin asked, picking up a ball of yarn.

“I’m knitting a scarf for you. I liked this yarn and thought a scarf made out of it would look pretty,” Lin Yin replied, showing her the colorful piece she had already made. The colors were situated side by side like a rainbow. It was indeed pretty.

“Do you like it?” Lin Yin asked.

“It’s beautiful, thank you, Mom.” Gu Qingxin hugged her mother and gave her a kiss.

“Oh, you’re so grown-up. Here, drink your stew before it gets cold,” Lin Yin handed her daughter the bowl of stew.

“It’s so wonderful to have you around, Mom!” Gu Qingxin thanked her, then took a spoonful and offered it to her mother, “Mom, you have some too.”
