Chapter 1305: Chapter 1310: I Like It When You’re Jealous6
"What?" Bai Jingqing looked at her, puzzled.
"When I left you, I regretted it. No, I deeply regretted it. It was the biggest regret of my life." Mi Qingwei’s emotions drifted tremendously as tears rolled down her cheeks. freёweɓnovel_com
"What’s past is past. We have to keep looking forward in life. You said just now that you needed my help with something. What is it?" Bai Jingqing subtly changed the subject.
"..."
Looking at his unmoved expression, Mi Qingwei felt a tightness in her chest. She had been straightforward in expressing her feelings, yet he had not responded at all. What was he trying to say?
"I... I want to hold a solo concert in Ming City. The original venue fell through due to a breach of contract. I need a new venue now. I have been away from Ming City for many years and hardly know anyone anymore. Could you possibly help me?"
"That’s not a problem. I’ll call Huangfu Ye now and have him help you. You can contact him afterward." Bai Jingqing called Huangfu Ye right in front of her.
Her chest tightened even more, and she felt as if she were being suffocated.
She wasn’t young anymore and thought she could face anything with equanimity. Now she realized how wrong she had been.
The more she talked to him, the more her heart ached.
Bai Jingqing’s attitude was so casual, like he was dealing with an old friend. There wasn’t a trace of residual affection.
"Jingqing, are you angry with me?"
After hanging up, Bai Jingqing was taken aback when Mi Qingwei suddenly asked. Reflexively, he asked, "What?"
"The year I rejected your proposal and insisted on going abroad, do you hate me?" Mi Qingwei’s fingertips trembled slightly.
"Qingwei, you’re overthinking. I’ve never hated you. Your rejection was your choice. I gave you and me a chance. But when you rejected me, I let go completely. You should know me; I always keep things separate."
Looking at his calm demeanor, the indifferent look in his eyes, Mi Qingwei felt a chill. His claim of never having hated her felt the same as if he had never loved her at all.
"Jingqing, I know I was wrong. I was young and ignorant back then. Can you give me another chance?"
After many years of advanced study abroad, Mi Qingwei had become quite a famous cellist. She had her pride, but at this moment, all she wanted was to plead with this man to come back.
"That’s no longer possible." Bai Jingqing shook his head. His tone was indifferent, and his expression turned serious.
Her chest heaved with strong emotion. She tried hard to control her feelings, even managing a strained smile, "Then let’s just be friends? I don’t know anyone in our country right now. You’re the only friend I have. If you ignore me, I really don’t know what to do."
"If you ever need help, feel free to approach me. I’ll certainly assist you if I’m able." Bai Jingqing nodded.
"I should leave now." Mi Qingwei couldn’t sit any longer. She stood up and on her way out bumped into the coffee table.
"Are you alright?" Bai Jingqing asked, frowning.
She shook her head and left, looking quite pitiful.
As she stepped out, she almost bumped into Bai Ruiqing. She nodded at him, and her mind flashed back to the day they had met by the seaside. She furrowed her brows, wondering why Bai Qianqian was with Bai Ruiqing one day and so cozy with Bai Jingqing the next?
