Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau-Chapter 713 - 370: Party A and Party B (Part 2)
Lawrence Winters guessed that everyone was busy at this time, so no one answered the phone.
Thus, she didn’t continue to make calls. Instead, she drove over around lunchtime.
Today, Spring Spencer brought her team to Kenneth Osborne’s post-production special effects company’s meeting room for a mid-term summary.
After listening to everyone’s presentations and reports, she praised both teams generously and mentioned that she would offer a separate bonus to reward both teams.
Of course, everyone was happy to receive money.
Kenneth Osborne’s technical director in charge of post-production effects was overjoyed but still declined courteously, saying, "This isn’t appropriate. We’re not the same company, but we appreciate Spring’s kindness."
"What’s wrong with that? Our company often offers bonuses to partners and suppliers who help us solve problems. You don’t need to decline. I’ll discuss with your President Osborne to see in what manner we can distribute it. In the past few weeks, everyone has been working overtime almost every day, practically living in the office. I can’t let everyone’s hard work go unrewarded."
Spring Spencer was quite adept at winning people over. Like a natural-born entrepreneur, she never crudely exploits her employees.
What ordinary employees want is just a bit of dignity and recognition.
After finishing his own work, Kenneth Osborne also came to listen to today’s meeting summary.
But he arrived late. At the door, he heard everyone cheering and then heard Spring Spencer say, "I can’t let everyone’s hard work go unrewarded."
He smirked, didn’t go in, but turned around and sat down in the technical director’s office at the post-production special effects company.
As it turned out, the technical director was left in the meeting room to discuss technical issues with several employees. He asked Spring Spencer to wait in his office for a while as they had issues to discuss.
So, Spring Spencer first responded to the technical director’s office.
Seeing Kenneth Osborne inside, Spring Spencer was startled and covered her mouth, saying, "Are you here for a surprise inspection, President Osborne? I can vouch that your technical director is very diligent, very clever, and full of great ideas. Today’s regular meeting was a great success."
Kenneth Osborne stood up and laughed, saying, "You’re too kind, President Spencer. I feel a bit intimidated by your praise for my employees, and I ask you kindly not to poach them."
He jokingly clasped his hands and made a traditional gesture.
Spring Spencer waved her hand, saying, "I know President Osborne is joking. Actually, keeping employees is simple."
"When I first started my business, an elder once told me that to retain employees, you need to understand why they would leave."
"Excluding those leaving for family reasons, there are generally only two reasons others leave: either the money isn’t right, or they feel unappreciated."
"It’s easy to solve the issue of money not being right by offering a base salary higher than the market average and generous bonuses. This will not only attract top employees but also retain them."
"As for feeling unappreciated, that’s more interesting. You have to make employees feel that you genuinely respect them, not only respecting their work but also their dignity."
"We’re their bosses, but they’re not our slaves."
"To willingly make employees stay and work overtime, both aspects need to be balanced well."
Kenneth Osborne stood by the door next to an oil painting, listening intently. After a while, he nodded and said, "I’m enlightened. President Spencer indeed has a profound family background, and there’s a lot to learn from in this regard."
Spring Spencer leaned against the wall, tilting her head slightly. Her luscious red lips opened and closed slightly, with a slightly playful smile she said, "Why does it sound like there’s a bit of irony in President Osborne’s words? Even a bit sarcastic..."
Kenneth Osborne: "..."
He smiled slightly and said, "Of course not, President Spencer. You’re overthinking it."
While they were talking, the office phone rang intermittently a few times, but neither Kenneth nor Spring Spencer intended to answer it.
Because this was the technical director’s office, it was obviously his landline ringing, and thus neither of them answered others’ phone calls.
The technical director arrived just in time to hear the last two sentences of their conversation, immediately feeling uncomfortable all over. It was awkward enough that he didn’t know whether to go in or leave. It was so awkward, he felt like his head was about to fall off.
Just then, his office’s landline rang again, offering him an escape.
The technical director rushed over in a few strides to answer, "Hello, this is Far Promise Special Effects Production Ltd. Who may I ask is calling?"
