Descending Into A Novel-Chapter 116:City of Creatures(14)
Ellen immediately fired off another arrow at the demon. Following the trajectory that only she could see, it curved slightly and pierced his forearm.
Such an injury was nothing, as he merely pulled the arrow out and regenerated the wound in an instant. But it sure served to anger him.
With only a few minutes left to take out Ellen before Noelle could use her move. The demon made a decision—cutting off one of its claws and throwing it at Ellen.
"Die!"
Unprepared for such a bizzare move. Ellen hastily jumped sideways to avoid it, a translucent blue shield covering her. Only for it to break on contact, Raymond’s magic failing to block it.
Without any thing left to stop it. Ellen could only watch as the claw pierced her thigh, pushing through until it met air on the other side of her leg.
Taking out one of the daggers on her leg, she cut off the pieces of the claw that stuck out. Preventing it from hindering her movement too much.
Despite the wound being a constant source of pain, with the demonic energy sticking onto her. Ellen barely even let out a grunt. The pain something she was far too used to.
With a five on one fight, despite the demon being extremely strong. The constant barrage of attacks left it unable to do more then defend and occasionally retaliate. Spending most of its efforts on blasting one of the three front liners away. While Raymond and Ellen constantly whittled it down at range.
Now, being extremely weakened from the constant fighting. With his demonic energy running low. Even the demon knew its time was soon.
Because Noelle had finished preparing.
Their fight had been to protect Noelle while she charged in the first place, and now. They were finally getting ready to see it. The true power of the Asteria Armory Arts.
Facing the demon, she gripped her spear tightly. Armor glinting in her own light as she exhaled. One hand loosening and raised towards the roof.
The four-sided star behind her exploded, turning into a shower of starlight that flew upwards. Forming a mystical cloud of starlight that glimmered beautifully.
For a moment, everyone and everything was still.
Until she spoke. Each syllable clear as day. Bringing her hand down in a domineering motion.
"Astral Thunder."
The pillar of thunder slammed into the demon, dust and debris exploded outward. The room wasn’t that big, but it was durable enough to have withstood most of their fighting. Yet Noelle’s singular move had managed to destroy nearly the entire flooring. Fractures spreading across the ground in waves, making it hard for them to find even footing.
The flash that came with the thunder blinded everybody in the room, the light so bright that everything turned white and Raymond had to close his eyes.
The thunderclap that followed soon after was so violent it shook the floor, the horrible screams of the demon barely audible with the sounds of thunder striking.
When they opened their eyes, they were greeted with the sight of sizzling debris and a crater in the middle of the room where the demon was. Smoke curling in the dusty air.
Thomas was the first to speak, "...impressive."
Raymond of course, could’ve done something similar to kill the demon. But he let Noelle steal the spotlight because he and Ellen needed to conserve their mana for the dragon.
Noelle lowered her arm, spear disintegrating back into starlight.
"Thank yo- are you okay?!"
She paused while thanking him, from where the demon had previously stabbed him. The skin and flesh around Thomas’s shoulder had begun to rot and turn red. Thick demonic energy still stuck to the area.
Thomas mobilized his holy energy, in an instant. The rotted flesh fell away and was replaced with new healthy muscle. Once he stopped it however, the demonic energy returned and his body started dying again.
"It’s a bit itchy, but it doesn’t hurt actually. Likely because the pain receptors and nerves are also dying?"
Despite the morbid sight, Thomas didn’t even frown. Merely adjusting the holy energy that was coursing through his body.
After a while, Thomas had made it so the effect was weakened. His skin still looked red, but with his rate of holy energy recovery. He could maintain this permanently.
Raymond took out an extra shirt of his from his storage dimension, handing it over to Thomas. As annoyingly handsome as he was, his body was remarkably amazing as well.
But his was still better in every way! He was also way more handsome!
Thomas thanked him, with Raymond summoning a wall to cover him as he changed. If it weren’t for him saying it, this guy would have just took his shirt off in front of all of them!
Raymond temporarily thought about whether he should take a picture of it, then sell the picture.
Ahem, he wasn’t that desperate for money or points. Yet, but the option was always there now that he thought about it.
Ellen limped over, the claw still stuck in her thigh making it harder for her to move. Stopping Thomas before he could try and heal her.
"Don’t. Your injury is more important then mine, I can handle it still."
"But wh-
"No buts."
The way she shut down Thomas was really amazing, that guy was about as stubborn as a brick wall.
As the five of them left the enclosure. With him helping Ellen walk. He and Ellen quietly exchanged a look.
They still had to deal with the dragon.
She leaned closer into his ear, "I have an idea. I need you to follow along."
"Okay."
She coughed in order to get their attention.
"Since I can’t walk. Raymond is going to teleport me to the hospital, you guys should go help Lucy."
He tilted his head, the entire laboratory was still covered in a spatial stabilizer so teleportation was impossible. They had teleported in at the entrance, which was the only place that wasnt covered. The employees here still had to have a way to enter after all.
Oh.
He understood now, "You guys go on ahead."
Zachary noticed the discrepancy, raising an eyebrow as he asked. "Didn’t you say you couldn’t teleport us because of the stabilizer?"
"I can’t teleport all of you guys. But me and Ellen only is doable."
To prove it. Raymond waved his wand. His face scrunched up slightly as he fought the stabilizer.
After a few seconds of this, he and Ellen teleported away. Leaving the three of them in the corridor.

Raymond put his fist out to Ellen, fist bumping each other as they snickered. Their plan working successfully.
He couldn’t actually teleport, but he could cast an invisibility spell and a light spell.
So after some top-tier acting from Raymond, he had casted the two spells on them and they proceeded to run (or in Ellen’s case, hobble) away.
If it was anyone else, Raymond would have had to cast extra spells, and even then. It was unknown whether it would work. Lucy and Cador could smell them, Audrina could naturally detect stealth and Lin Qingyi’s swords were like an alarm system around her.
But Zachary, Noelle and Thomas were the worst in terms of senses. Even as they walked right past each other invisible. None had even noticed it at all.
"You would make a great actor."
"I’m already a model. Not interested in that to be honest."
They snickered again, both of them remembering a certain event in the previous timeline
"By the way. Need me to heal your leg now?"
"How’s your white magic?"
"I’m pretty good at white magic. But Ellen, a Archmage of Time doesn’t need white magic."
Raymond was more then just pretty good at white magic. He had learned it as a necessity for his constant dangerous magical experiments, plus his original...need for it.
So when it came to white magic, Raymond was pretty confident in it. But there was a better form of magic that trumped most healing from the white magic discipline.
Just reverse time on the wound!
Rather then regenerating a limb from scratch, he could make it as if the body had never even experienced the injury in the first place. Scars, and any other latent side effects would be negated. With the only issue being the higher mana expenditure.
Setting Ellen down so she was leaning against the wall. He took a look at the injury first.
"I need to take this claw out first. It’s gonna hurt a little."
"I’ll pull it out on go. Ready?"
She nodded, clenching her jaw as she prepared. His fingers holding the piece that stuck out as he counted down.
"5"
"4"
"3"
"2"
Instead of continuing the countdown however. He proceeded to look at her dead in the eyes and say something else instead.
"Ellen. I love you."
Ellen:??!
While Ellen was still reeling from the surprise. He yanked the claw free in one smooth motion, putting his hand over it to stop the bleeding.
She let out a startled choking noise, the pain making her body arch.
Putting his wand onto the injury. He quickly casted his spell to rewind time by an hour. Blood flowing back into the wound as the skin and muscle reconnected.
She fumed, "What was that?!"
"I was distracting you," he replied calmly. Holding up a long crimson claw that was now free of blood. "It didn’t feel as painful did it?"
"...I guess."
She groaned, mentally screaming at herself. Raymond’s distraction tactic was a little too good! 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
At least she could walk now...so that was something.
