Demon Lord: Erotic Adventure in Another World-Chapter 785: The Source of Danger
The hot pressure within Serena’s chest continuously grew as she watched another woman solve her beloved husband’s needs. A bottomless pit opened inside her stomach, where these dark, heavy emotions sank.
’Stop!’
Each time Valena’s hands caressed his cheeks, his chest, and when her plump lips parted slightly, blowing hot air against his face despite being close enough to kiss.
Serena watched with a sharp glare, the corners of her eyes lifting with her moon. Unable to accept this situation, her heart pounded with arrhythmia as she realised that Valena was different from the other women.
She leaned against the broken wall, the sharp outcrop of crystal piercing the softness of her palm. Her brows furrowed at the sudden flash of discomfort. Yet her gaze remained fixed on Valena and her disgustingly affectionate eyes as she continued to ’help’ Asmodeus in a way Serena couldn’t.
’Don’t get so close to him!’
A fierce, dark voice screamed inside her mind.
The thick abyssal blood seeping through her veins, like viscous slime carrying all things negative in the world. ’Let’s just kill her.’ A bizarre and unacceptable thought leaked as Serena’s lips curled into a twisted smile.
Instincts and desires long forgotten were awakening thanks to the proximity of other Abyssals and their dense energies being sucked into her tails.
’Would he blame me?’
Serena’s foot lifted, taking a single step as her fingers stretched wide, revealing her sharp, silver claws that gleamed in the peacefully silent cave.
"Phew, all done. Ah..." Valena’s voice bounced off the walls like a continuous assault, her fiery hair dangling beside her husband’s cheeks. The strands hid his face as her lips hung just centimetres from his, and her clear hesitation was unmistakable.
’This lizard!’
There was no affection towards this woman inside Serena’s heart from the moment she challenged her so openly.
Valena became different from her other sisters.
Her heart screamed that this woman was like her, down to those scheming eyes and slutty lips that wanted to taste him oh so badly. A woman who desired to be at the top, no matter the cost.
"Good, now shouldn’t you move?!" Serena leaked her aggression, unable to keep a calm and gentle voice. In turn, the dragoness hesitated further upon hearing.
Yet, despite her warning, there was no movement or withdrawal.
Valena narrowed her eyes into thin slits, shifting them to the corner and glanced at Serena before she snorted puffs of smoke. Then, without a second thought, she leaned towards Asmodeus and ever so softly tapped his lips with her own.
"Mm, his breath is sweeter than I thought." The kiss lasted less than five seconds before she pulled away and rubbed her lips with a strange smile. She glanced at Serena with a strange tone. "Well, I guess you already knew how great he tasted, right?"
’You... damn it!’
After years of ignoring his constant hook-ups with women, the many romantic debts and relationships Asmodeus formed. Serena prided herself on only ever rejecting one woman from ever becoming a member of their sisterhood.
Ein.
From the moment she saw how Asmodeus looked at her during the fight, Serena’s heart became pained, because no matter how hard she fought against that woman’s powers, even burning her newly awakened divine power failed.
’I don’t want to lose to other women.’
That’s why, when she noticed the scent of another abyssal leaking from his body when he visited the palace, Serena prepared herself, prepared a force capable of killing them, whoever they might be!
Meanwhile, as Serena clenched so tightly, the blood from her small wound dribbled onto the ground from the tear. She also couldn’t blame or hate Valena, thanks to her actions, the colours of his face became vibrant along with the black veins fading.
"Don’t worry, Empress Serena," Valena spoke from an unexpected location, right beside her. "I do not plan to steal him from you, nor cause troubles... at least for now." She turned her gaze back to the resting Asmodeus with a fleeting smile.
There was an untold darkness that washed over her pretty, well-defined features.
However, Serena noticed something else first. Those ink-black veins that writhed under Asmodeus’s flesh a few moments before now bulged from Valena’s neck, sinking into her abundant cleavage hidden by her makeshift kimono.
"Are you alright?"
Serena’s heart remained tight and conflicted, but she couldn’t remain a monster for long. The thick streams of sweat glistening atop her scales, breathing heavily with sharp, yet infrequent gasps.
’There wasn’t a cure? Did she just absorb the suffering for him?!’
"I...I’ll be fine, because we both accepted each other’s powers. Even I struggle to handle these newly gained energies that envelop my heart like the leaves of a young flower around a bud before it blooms."
’Tsk, quite eloquent for a lizard.’ She thought.
But Serena didn’t show it; instead, she placed her left hand on Valena’s shoulder and took a deep breath.
When the dragon shifted with a strange look, she shouted at her. "Don’t move."
’Let’s see what’s wrong with them.’
She thought that if she could see what happened to Valena after helping Asmodeus, she might be able to do it in her place in the future.
With closed eyes, Serena’s mind sank into Valena’s body and observed everything she could. Her muscles, flesh and bone shared a similar structure to other creatures, just a little more tempered and resilient to force.
As she plunged deeper into the dragon’s body, a searing pain pierced through her mind, like someone pouring lava directly into her brain.
"Ngh!?"
"Is everything alright, Serena?"
Valena turned to face the goddess, who stood beside her while flickering with a golden aura.
’No, I will keep going!’
"I’m fine."
Her voice short, sharp and desperately hiding the agonising pain from just touching the dragons veins with her ability. As she dove deeper, the heat rapidly cooled, unnaturally so. It became frigid, like a frozen wasteland, as Serena reached the black sludge.
"This is..."
’It’s the power of death, but why?!’
She couldn’t understand, although Asmodeus took the powers of Mephisto and death. Serena and his other wives didn’t suffer this fate, no matter how close they became.
Was it because their connection lacked depth?
Or was his connection with this dragon a completely different type that didn’t protect them like the one he shared with them?
The questions flashed through her mind, but a sudden chill spread through her body as something forcefully yanked her away.
"Serena! Can you hear me, Serena!"
"E-Eh, I was just...?"
Valena shook her shoulders, wearing an expression of pure concern, eyes open wide, slightly wet with tears, and her lips trembled. "Do you know how much he’ll suffer if you’re hurt because of this?!" Once again, Valena shouted with a scolding remark.
"Hmph." Serena pulled away. The dark, murky feelings returned as she snapped back, "What would you know?! I am fine, look... huh..."
She collapsed, almost smashing her head into a sharp crystal behind her if not for Valena’s swift movement, wrapping her tail around Serena’s waist and yanking her away, into the dragon’s embrace. "Foolish woman, do you want to die?"
Valena shook her head, then glared at Serena. "We can have our stupid fights over who becomes his number one, or who can satisfy him best anytime. But that cannot become something that endangers either of our lives! Look at yourself right now, you’re just as bad as Asmodeus."
Suddenly, Valena yanked one of her shinest scales and held it in front of Serena’s face.
"What... what the hell is this?"
In the brilliant red scale, her face looked haggard, with dry, pale skin, blood oozing from her nose and the same black veins writhing in her neck and underneath her cheeks.
"Dare to keep this stupid little game going now?"
Serenea couldn’t help but respond to Valena’s scolding. A strange warmth seeped into her body that somehow felt nostalgic. She couldn’t even remember the last time someone treated her as a younger woman that she didn’t hate.
"N-no, I was wrong."
"It’s fine, I knew that saying those things would upset you. It wasn’t like you became like this through no fault of my own. Sorry."
The dragoness handed the scale and placed it in the palm of Serena. "We are rivals, but at the same time, wewill be allies and sisters who wish to protect this idiot. We both know he loves stupid fights and women too much; let’s not cause harm to each other."
"But isn’t that too biased for me?"
"Eh, why would you care about that, haha?"
Serena covered her lips and then took a long breath, a little shocked that the dark and foul emotions vanished so easily. Though it might not be the end of them, she could look at Valena properly now.
"Well, I’m his wife, and we have children together. How could you catch up to that?"
Valena cocked her head to the side before smiling as she looked into Serena’s eyes, leaning closer to her ear and whispering.
"You might be a goddess, and have the form of a foxkin, but do you have any idea the things this dragoness can do in the bedroom for your husband?"
"E-Excuse me?!" 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
Serena backed away, the tail around her waist slowly unfurling to stop her from staggering and hurting herself.
Valena chuckled at Serena’s reaction. "So this is you not affected by those dark powers... silver hair, huh? It’s quite pretty. No wonder you’re the most impactful woman in that idiot’s heart and mind."
Without waiting for Serena’s response, Valena placed both arms behind her head and walked towards the entrance while complaining in a bitter voice.
"Tsk, why did she have to be almost perfect? How do I compete with that? Stupid Asmodeus, why couldn’t you have been a single virgin like me..."
After that, she sat on an elevated rock, curled into a ball and wrapped her body in four glossy, scaled wings. "Hmph! What’s so good about other women? I’ll definitely make you fall for me."
Serena stood silently watching the scene and covered her lips, giggling.
’She’s just like Velvet, or maybe Asmodea... fufu.’
But then she remembered the sight of Asmodeus a moment before, then the same black writhing veins appeared on Valena’s body, and then hers.
And memories of Mephisto reviving himself over the milennia she was a goddess.
’Can we truly rely on the power of death?’
