Capítulo 1251: Chapter 1251: The Contract

The Slime King felt utterly humiliated after what had been said.

Standing resolutely in front of Yang Yu, Helot was determined to protect Yang Yu.

And then there was He Meng, who had traveled with Yang Yu for so long, naturally siding with Yang Yu and his companions.

Looking around at the surrounding ministers, though they had not yet expressed their opinions, the Slime King could vaguely sense they were also inclined to help Yang Yu.

The Slime King almost wanted to spit blood. I’m your king, being spoken to like this, how can you all remain so calm? Are you thinking the same?

“Dear, please calm down.”

Upon hearing the voice, the Slime King turned his head to see the Queen smiling gently at him,

“As the Slime King, maintaining composure and thoughtfulness at all times is what makes a qualified king.

If you lose your temper, you’ll be looked down upon completely.”

The Slime King was left speechless and eventually dismissed the guards approaching Yang Yu and his group, sitting back heavily on his throne.

The Queen spoke on behalf of the King to Yang Yu and his party:

“Dear guests, please step aside and rest for a while.

We have some internal matters that need thorough discussion.

He Meng, come over too.”

He Meng pouted, clearly displeased with her father’s sudden move and not wanting to speak with him. However, at Yang Yu’s insistent gaze, she headed towards her mother.

Before leaving, He Meng asked if Yang Yu had any advice. Yang Yu only instructed her to answer her parents truthfully and say she didn’t know what she didn’t, to avoid unnecessary trouble.

He Meng nodded in understanding.

After that, the meeting within the Slime Kingdom began.

Meanwhile, Yang Yu and his companions chatted joyfully outside, enjoying their lunch.

Reaching this point, Yang Yu was practically confident of victory; now it was just a matter of seeing what demands the Slimes would make.

If they were unreasonable, Yang Yu would have to bargain with them.

They didn’t have to wait long, just half a day, and the Slime Kingdom reached a conclusion.

Summoned back to the hall, Yang Yu and his group faced the Slime King once more.

Compared to earlier, the Slime King’s demeanor had noticeably softened, and he spoke in a subdued tone:

“I thank you for your concern for the Slime Kingdom.

Regarding your proposal, we have reconsidered it very carefully and come to a conclusion.

We, the Slime Kingdom, have decided to offer you our assistance by dispatching some exceedingly skilled Slime warriors to cooperate with your actions.

As a condition, you will need to provide us with ample Clover for several years and offer us some of the knowledge we require.

Due to the extreme danger of this operation, I hope you can ensure the safety of our Slime warriors as much as possible.

If they happen to perish in battle, you will need to provide ample compensation to their families.

Besides that, there are a few more stipulations…

These are all negotiable.

We have already drafted our demands in a preliminary contract.

In short, please review our contract.

If there is anything unsatisfactory, we can negotiate.”

The Slime King glanced at He Meng beside him, and He Meng brought the mutually beneficial contract drafted by the Slime Kingdom to Yang Yu’s side.

Receiving the contract, Yang Yu quickly skimmed through it.

Whether it was due to He Meng setting acceptable ranges during the meeting or the Slime Kingdom’s respect for Yang Yu that led them to lower their demands to a presumably acceptable level, the conditions proposed by the Slime Kingdom on the contract were mostly within Yang Yu’s acceptable range.

Since his mana was plenty, providing them with extra Clover wasn’t much of an issue.

Yang Yu signed his name joyously,

“All the conditions stated make perfect sense. Thank you, Your Majesty, for wisely weighing the pros and cons and making the right decision; you are truly a great king.”

The Slime King maintained a neutral expression in response to Yang Yu’s praise,

“I heard that you plan to attack the so-called Demon King Four Heavenly Kings. If possible, I hope you do not reveal our Slime Kingdom’s assistance to you, so we can continue to live in peace.”

Yang Yu assured, “Leave it to me.

I have already thought of a way to transport you.

Being too conspicuous and making the enemy wary, resulting in a failed plan, is the last thing I want to see.”

The Slime King nodded, trusting that Yang Yu, who could see right through the Slame Kingdom, wouldn’t recklessly disregard his instructions.

After a pause, the Slime King continued,

“Additionally, Helot and He Meng will also participate in these actions, even though I do not wish for them to go on adventures.

However, as this concerns many Slime citizens’ lives, having Royal Slimes present can better inspire their fighting spirit.

Every Royal Slime is extremely rare, so please consider them truly as comrades and protect them well.

If they are sacrificed without cause, you will answer for it!”

“As long as they diligently follow the arrangement, I assure their safety to the greatest extent possible.”

Yang Yu smiled confidently.

Helot approached Yang Yu with a swift stride, wearing a smile filled with admiration for Yang Yu.

Upon reaching Yang Yu, Helot transformed back into a Slime, jumping up from the ground as Yang Yu lifted his hand to hold Helot in his palm with understanding.

Sitting stably in Yang Yu’s hand, Helot greeted Yang Yu:

“In the coming days, please guide me, Lord Yang Yu.

I’ve always been very interested in the human world, and I will cherish this opportunity to engage with humanity.

Please do not hesitate to command me, and also provide me with generous Clover as a reward.”

Such maturity and steadiness made Yang Yu appreciate Helot indeed. If it weren’t for Helot, convincing the Slime King so swiftly might not have been possible, and unconventional measures may have had to be taken, potentially leading to a falling-out with the Slime Kingdom.

“Oh, not at all, Your Highness’s willingness to contribute is most appreciated.

I trust that in the coming days, I will get along very well with Your Highness.”

Yang Yu and Helot chatted merrily, while He Meng puffed her cheeks and trotted over to Bai Jin, placing a hand on Bai Jin’s shoulder before turning back into a Slime.

Throughout the previous meeting, she was questioned repeatedly and, per Yang Yu’s instruction, informed her father and ministers of everything she knew, successfully swaying their opinions, only for Yang Yu to act as he always does…..

Just as He Meng was thinking this, Yang Yu cast his gaze toward her with a smile and said,

“Thanks, He Meng, you worked hard too.

You’re the hero of this operation, and I won’t let you down. During the operation, clovers will be unlimited.”

He Meng extended two small hands from her round body and clasped them together,

“You said it. You better not regret it!”
