Demon Dragon Mad God-Chapter 973 - 686: Lost in the Misty Forest (Part 2)
The surroundings were utterly silent, devoid of any sound.
Activating the Netherworld Demon Pupil Star, Lin Feng’s vision was scarcely able to extend dozens of yards.
After carefully scanning the four directions and seeing no danger, Lin Feng let out a slight sigh of relief.
As he relaxed his mind, a wave of weakness immediately overwhelmed his body.
He was seriously injured, and with his dark power exhausted within, he was incredibly weak now.
"Better restore the dark power and heal the injuries first!"
Lin Feng sighed, then landed and sat cross-legged on the ground.
He took out some healing pills and cultivation recovery pills, consuming them one by one, and began a closed-eye meditation.
Time passed, and approximately three to four hours later, Lin Feng’s injuries had slightly healed, and his internal dark power restored by twenty percent. He then stopped cultivating and stood up.
"I must leave a way to retreat!"
Lin Feng understood that the Mist Mountain Range was difficult to exit and could lead to complete loss of direction, so he planned to leave some marks beforehand to prevent being utterly lost.
Turning around, Lin Feng traced his steps back in the direction he entered, intending to return to the edge of the Mist Mountain Range, starting to leave marks from the edge.
But soon, Lin Feng’s face turned unsightly because, although he had only entered a hundred yards into the thick mist, when retracing his path, he walked over a thousand yards without reaching the mist’s edge.
Lin Feng was shocked, wondering why he couldn’t return to the mist’s edge even when he retraced the original path.
Pondering for a moment, Lin Feng soared upwards, flying directly towards the Heavenly Vault to see if he could escape the mist’s range.
However, even after flying upwards for a full quarter of an hour and traversing countless miles, he still couldn’t fly out of the mist’s range.
"This place is indeed bizarre!" Lin Feng stopped, furrowing his eyebrows.
Activating the Netherworld Demon Pupil Star again, Lin Feng meticulously scanned the surrounding space, immediately discovering a hint of mystery.
He noticed that the space within the mist was slightly distorted, without any rules of distortion.
"Ah, that’s it!"
Lin Feng suddenly realized that since the space is distorted, there is essentially no direction in this place, meaning he can’t walk straight.
This meant that he wasn’t actually retracing his original path, not knowing where he had wandered.
Even while flying upwards, he likely wasn’t flying straight up, the direction twisting during his flight.
"Where can I find Blood Pattern Seeds?"
Lin Feng sighed, accepting the turn of events. His priority was to find Blood Pattern Seeds, then figure out a way to leave.
Thereafter, Lin Feng flew downward again, landing on the ground in just a few breaths.
Immediately, he aimlessly wandered within the mist.
The Mist Mountain Range was barren with hardly any vegetation, a wasteland with rock-like terrain underfoot, filled with large gravel.
Suddenly, Lin Feng halted because he felt a murderous intent locked onto him, chilling his spine.
"What is it?"
Lin Feng immediately pushed the Netherworld Demon Pupil Star to its limit, carefully scanning the four directions, but due to limited vision, he found nothing.
He then used spiritual consciousness to probe in all directions, but his spiritual consciousness was hindered by the eerie mist, exploring only within a hundred-yard range.
Lin Feng grew alert; known threats didn’t scare him, but unknown dangers were the most terrifying.
Standing still with his Xuanhuang Sword, Lin Feng squinted, fully tense, ready to face the incoming danger at any moment.
One breath!
Two breaths!
Three breaths!
After five breaths, suddenly, a phantom lightning appeared behind Lin Feng.
The phantom lightning reached an extreme speed, hard to discern with the naked eye, projecting like a wisp of phantom directly towards Lin Feng’s chest.
"Die!"
Lin Feng’s reflexes were swift, reversing the sword strike at the moment the phantom lightning was about to hit.
Slash!
The sword light flashed, black blood sprayed out, splitting the phantom lightning into two, which then fell to the ground.
Lin Feng fixed his gaze, realizing the phantom lightning was a gray-white little snake, only seven inches long and as thick as a finger, its sharp fangs resembling saw teeth, horrifyingly ferocious.
Hiss hiss hiss!!
Black blood splattered on the rocky ground, rapidly corroding a large area, forming a deep pit in a blink.
"Such powerful venom!" Lin Feng persisted, focusing his gaze. The snake’s blood was drastically corrosive.
After a while, Lin Feng took a deep breath, realizing that besides losing direction here, many dangers lurked.
Then he progressed more cautiously, continuing through the mist.
Roar!
Shortly after, a beast roar sounded ahead of Lin Feng, followed by a massive creature charging towards him.
Lin Feng looked closely, seeing a giant leopard, three yards tall, over ten yards long, its body gray-white, indistinguishable from the mist.
The leopard’s aura was quite strong, a Level Five Seventh Layer Demon Beast, comparable to a human True Xuan Realm Seventh Layer Martial Artist. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
Swoosh!
The leopard’s figure moved like lightning, slicing through the void, jaws open wide, aiming for Lin Feng’s head.
"Die!"
Without hesitation, Lin Feng executed another sword strike, the sword light slicing through, instantly cleaving the leopard into halves.
Such level beasts were no match for him at all.
Afterward, Lin Feng continued moving forward, facing intermittent attacks, mostly by Level Six or lower beasts, posing no threat to him.
Even sporadic Level Six beasts couldn’t challenge him, instantly bested by him.
After walking about an hour, Lin Feng realized he reached a small mountain peak.
The mist was too dense, obscuring his view of any paths.
For a moment, Lin Feng pondered, then soared upward, hurriedly traversing the mist.
The area was entirely barren, where Blood Pattern Seeds couldn’t possibly grow, wandering more was only wasting time.
Blood Pattern Seeds are seeds of the special spiritual medicine, Blood Pattern Grass, growing in lush, vegetated areas.
Zoom!
Lin Feng flew low like an arrow, searching through the mist.
After flying briefly, Lin Feng entered a dense forest.
Ancient towering trees stood in the forest, thriving undergrowth everywhere, massive vines like long snakes entwined around the ancient trees.
Lin Feng promptly slowed down, flying while searching within the forest.
Zoom!
At that moment, an abrupt change occurred, the vines on the ancient trees started moving, rushing to entangle Lin Feng.
Dozens of vines entwined like a net, leaving Lin Feng unable to escape.
"Annihilate!"
Unfazed, Lin Feng maintained speed, sword light flashing in hand, instantly shattering the vines into pieces.
As Lin Feng progressed, he faced frequent attacks, with not only thick vines but flowers capable of launching lethal spikes and numerous demonic beast attacks.
Fortunately, these beasts were of low levels, the highest level beast he encountered so far being a Level Six Fourth Layer Demon Beast.
Time flew, and soon Lin Feng had searched the forest for about ten hours, yet found nothing.
He discovered plenty of Spirit Grass and Spiritual Medicine, but didn’t bother collecting them.
By now, frustration brewed in Lin Feng’s heart, vision blinded by the dense mist, a feeling of uncertainty gnawing at him.
Suppressing the frustration, Lin Feng continued searching, but another day passed with no findings.
At this point, Lin Feng halted, ceasing meticulous searches.
After pondering briefly, Lin Feng soared above the forest, accelerating his flight.
The forest contained no Blood Pattern Seeds; he planned to leave and search elsewhere.
However, as time passed, Lin Feng’s expression grew entirely grim, flying for three full days, yet unable to exit the forest.
He was completely lost within the forest!
