Chapter 4299 - 3395: Miracle Doctor (Part 2)_2

"I finally know how you manage to perform over 20 surgeries a day."

Shiller walked to the door, looked outside through the observation window, and then said, "The head nurse is not around, let's go."

The two of them, one holding an arm and the other lifting a leg, directly carried the mummy to the furnace. Shiller didn't know the specific process of destroying a body. He thought he might find a book on the shelf, but he really couldn't be bothered to read now and decided to just burn it.

Shiller glanced at the mummy, then at the furnace, and said, "No, we need to dismember it first, or else it won't fit."

"You're the expert in this area, I'll follow your lead," Strange went back to get a bigger knife and then said, "Taking the legs off should be about right."

"The head needs to come off too. The skull burns too slowly, and it would be troublesome if the head nurse finds out. I saw sulfur and distillation equipment over there; I'll prepare some concentrated sulfuric acid just in case."

Strange immediately started working, cutting below the hip joints and quickly detaching the legs, then proceeding to dismember the other leg.

Shiller checked the quality of the sulfur, and although it wasn't very pure, it was just about usable. Preparing corrosive chemicals was his specialty. Though he didn't expect to use this to completely destroy the body and erase all traces, chemical methods could cover up most parts with strong human characteristics, such as previously mentioned hair, finger joints, and genitals.

Soon, the distillation apparatus began to bubble and gurgle. Strange had nearly finished his job too, and while wiping his knife, he said, "We spent most of our time understanding the rules, it's simply not fair. So we can only do it this way. But we'll treat the next patient well, right?"

"Absolutely," nodded Shiller, stepping over the body to take the head, smashed it with a hammer from the tool rack, gradually corroded it with the chemical, and then threw the remaining residue into the furnace.

Suddenly, a flash of light at the front door. Shiller immediately turned to look and, sure enough, saw those deep-set eyes.

"Good afternoon, madam. It's a bit cold in the room, we need to kindle the fire," Shiller said unfazed, meanwhile nudging a section of femur bone further inside with his toe.

Unexpectedly, the nurse spoke up.

"Get back to work! There are many patients waiting!"

His voice sounded like a leaking bellows, muffled and with a slightly eerie breathiness, quite terrifying in the putrid-smelling environment.

"Alright, alright," Shiller immediately stood and said, "I'm on it."

The two returned to the operating table.

A metal door on the wall in front of the operating table seemed to be where patients emerged from. Shiller saw two levers above; one lever had a downward arrow drawn on it, and the other an upward arrow.

Shiller pulled the lever with the upward arrow, and the door opened. A rustling sound came from inside, even faint voices, too soft to be clear.

Shiller and Strange exchanged glances, but tacitly chose not to look into the passage.

Suddenly, a clatter, something fell from the passage. Shiller picked it up—it was two copper coins.

His eyes immediately lit up, observing the two copper coins, then said, "Are we actually getting paid? Is this a salary, or a reward for treating a patient?"

Before he could figure it out, the next patient arrived.

This time it wasn't a mummy, but a living person, a brown-skinned adult male. Judging from his skeletal structure, he resembled a Latino, but he didn't seem to be a normal human, as his eyes had two pupils—a condition not symptomatic of any known disorder, indicating it was congenital.

His abdomen swelled abnormally, writhing unnaturally, with vague traces of serpentine movement visible.

"Good heavens, what have you eaten?"

"Save me, please save me! I have a worm infection! Doctor, please save me!" The patient kept screaming, almost falling off the surgery table.

"Worm infection? Oh, a Feast of Worms syndrome, right?" Shiller picked up a book nearby and glanced at it.

"We need to open him up." Strange took the scalpel again, adjusted his gloves, and then said, "Give him an anesthetic shot, and go get the insect trap..."

Shiller prepared a lower dose of the Mandala anesthetic to prevent the patient from being poisoned to death. After the injection, the patient quickly became still, but was still breathing, which looked like a successful anesthesia.

Shiller did not go to fetch the insect trap as described in the healing manual; after all, that device had to be unlocked and locked again. He directly picked up a pair of forceps and said, "Throw the worms to me, I will directly toss them into the fireplace, quick and easy."

Strange glanced at the fireplace and, without saying anything, began the incision.

He first made a shallow cut, seemingly positioning. But the moment the skin was weakened, two worm-like black creatures wriggled out. Strange disdainfully picked them with the knife and threw them on the floor, and Shiller then picked them up and threw them into the fireplace.

He glanced at the door, gave Strange an "OK" gesture, and then whispered, "The head nurse is not here. Continue."

Unnerved by the worms, Strange lost his patience. He discarded the small scalpel and took out a large knife he previously used for dismembering bones, and with one cut, opened up the entire abdominal cavity.

Now there was an explosion of worms, which Strange could not evade, spraying onto him.

"Damn it! Get off!! Get off!!! Curse these worms!!!" Strange danced around trying to get the worms off him.

Shiller quickly ran over to help him brush the worms off. Strange immediately rushed to the sink, retching. Without hesitating, Shiller grabbed a bottle of sulfuric acid from a nearby stand and poured it directly into the patient's abdomen.

"AAAAAAAHHHH!!!"

Mandala wasn't really an anesthetic and couldn't achieve the effect of modern anesthetics. The patient, awakened by severe pain from the acid corroding his abdomen, let out a dreadful scream.

Shiller suddenly turned and looked towards the observation window, frantically stomping the surviving worms to death, and shouted at Strange, "Stop puking! Come over and heal!"

Suddenly, a rush of footsteps came from the side of the door. Shiller swiftly shielded the patient's abdomen. The nurse's eyes appeared in the observation window.

"Hello, ma'am."

"What are you doing?! Why is the patient screaming so miserably?!"

"The anesthetic wore off, we're about to give more!" Shiller hurriedly said, "It won't take long, ma'am, he'll be fine soon!"

Skeptical, the nurse stared as Shiller sharply inhaled and grabbed the scalpel Strange had thrown away, plunging it straight into the chest cavity.

"Phew!"

"Okay, ma'am, now it's quiet."
