Damned Healer-Chapter 728: I’m Here
Everyone was dumbfounded. Using pure spiritual power to form an ethereal cauldron only existed in legends. The crowd had never seen anything like this.
Even the tower and branch administrator stood up, overwhelmed with shock. It was the first time he had witnessed such spiritual power and control.
Making a pill was a process that required knowledge, technique, and great control over one's spiritual power and flame. Not the sheer amount one possessed.
Most people had approximately the same amount of spiritual power. The biggest difference usually came from cultivation level; the higher it was, the spiritual power increased subtly. But even if there was some difference, it would be extremely small. Therefore, someone's cultivation was not the most important aspect, but rather their control.
Having extremely high spiritual power, on the other hand, was something a person was born with and couldn't be changed, only improved.
The spiritual power and control Darian displayed were enormous, so enormous that they were frightening. He was actually capable of condensing a spiritual pill furnace. The exhaustion from doing that alone would already be enough to refine an extremely high-level pill.
The crowd fell silent.
Limdiss swallowed hard, not knowing how to react. He... he had destroyed her life, her dreams, and thrown her into hell one step from death.
Now he came to humiliate her even more? Wasn't it enough to be stronger, and now he wanted to be better even in alchemy?
But... she swallowed it down and turned away, taking a deep breath.
In seconds, she completely calmed herself and focused inward. Right now, other people have nothing to do with her. Nothing mattered except herself.
Darian noticed her reaction and nodded inwardly. Pain really was the greatest teacher. Her extreme arrogance seemed to have evaporated during this year at rock bottom.
Meanwhile, the expression of that so-called Mulloy turned ugly. He felt a faint unease, certain that this Darian was an extremely dangerous individual. Such abnormal spiritual power and control was something even he had never seen before.
Darian's flame did not stop. Inside the translucent spiritual furnace, the medicinal pill was rapidly taking shape. In less than a minute, it solidified.
"The circles appeared! One… two… three…"
"Six… seven… eight…"
"Nine circles!"
"My God, the quality is still condensing and increasing!"
"!"
"What?! That aura… it's a Treasure Pill!"
Suddenly, the spiritual pill furnace went out, and a beautiful medicinal pill appeared in Darian's hand. A bright light emanated from it, making it look like a lantern in the dark night.
"Treasure Pill with nine circles!"
Everyone was shocked. If they hadn't seen it personally, they wouldn't have believed that such low-quality medicinal ingredients could be refined into a pill like this.
A Treasure Pill was the peak of high-quality pills… for these people, of course. As for the nine circles, that was something only true Alchemy Emperors could achieve.
"However, it's essentially useless. If I'm not mistaken, that's just an insect-repelling pill, commonly used by adventurers. When they set up camp, they use it to avoid being bitten by poisonous insects."
"Indeed, it's a beginner pill. But it was definitely incredible. I have to admit, we all got a solid slap in the face," someone said bitterly.
Darian said nothing; he simply used his actions to give them an answer worthy of the moment. By creating that pill, he essentially slapped the faces of those who had repeatedly insulted him.
The worse someone had insulted him, the more painful that slap felt. And their feeling… was that Darian definitely did it on purpose just to make them feel that humiliation.
But… Darian couldn't care less about them.
He just made the pill the way he remembered. He had made this pill several times before, and had even once made one with ten circles. So this was only average for him.
Darian's refinement had attracted everyone's attention. Those who had planned to dazzle others with their skills ended up giving up. Following his example, they chose to use the simplest method to finish their pills.
As a result, this opening round was completely dominated by Darian.
…
The six hours ended.
At that moment, everyone took out their pills, and the people from the Hellfire Pill Sect collected them.
The entire venue fell silent for several minutes.
Then, the tower and branch administrator appeared. He waved his hand, and several runes floated high above, moving and forming words. They were the names of those who passed, their ranking, and their scores.
01: Darian, Golden Crow Sect.
Score: 1000
Everyone remained in absolute silence, seeing that first place.
The score ranged from 0 to 1000. No one could remember when that score had appeared before… or if it had ever appeared in an Alchemy Emperor test.
02: Mulloy Zarck, Stellar Medicine Planet.
Score: 611
…
03: Limdiss Vane, Golden Crow Sect.
Score: 588
In total, there were just over a thousand names. Nearly 99% of the people had failed.
Upon seeing the third position, all eyes also focused on that young girl from the Golden Crow Sect. Many knew her and narrowed their eyes coldly. Others were shocked when they sensed her life energy.
It was easy to roughly judge someone's age that way. She seemed to be practically the same age as Darian and came from the same sect. Two terrifying figures had been born from that sect in a single generation.
Never before had there been such outstanding candidates so young.
Darian saw Limdiss's name and sighed. She definitely wouldn't have even reached the top 1000 if her life hadn't been turned upside down like that. After everything happened, her mindset changed, and she finally found focus in life.
"In three days, the grand final will take place. According to the rules, the pills belong to those who made them. Take them and leave!"
The loud, imposing voice echoed, and everyone swallowed nervously and picked up the pills they had made. Then they turned and left.
Darian saw Limdiss looking around, alert to every gaze, her expression extremely worried. Then, the moment she exited the tower, she started running away, clearly trying to hide in a hurry.
Darian snorted and moved forward, walking calmly.
Shortly after, when he returned to the narrow alley, he suddenly noticed there were far more burly men than before.
At the same time, he heard a wail coming from the small courtyard where he was staying. Narrowing his eyes, he quickened his pace.
"If you know what's good for you, leave immediately!" Suddenly, two large men blocked his path.
Darian made a casual motion with his hand.
The two had barely reached level nine of the Celestial Nascent Realm. A wave of power sent them flying, crashing into the dozens of people behind them. Darian moved, reaching the courtyard in a second.
The courtyard was still there, though half-wrecked. Temzi and her grandfather were cornered in one spot. The old man's face was bruised and bleeding. Temzi was terrified, yet still trying to protect him, even begging for mercy.
"Please stop hitting my grandpa!" Temzi screamed.
In her eyes, Darian saw a different glint. A fury and willpower were blazing within her as she gripped a kitchen knife in her small hands. She looked ready to jump in and fight, even knowing she would die from a single move by these cultivators.
In the middle of the group stood a man with a scar across his face, cursing furiously. "Stupid peasant, we already told you Young Master Mulloy wants this land! We told you to get lost, but you refused to leave. Now, if you still don't go, we'll kill you."
"Sirs, please have mercy on us! I spent all my savings to buy this place and rely on it to survive! Driving us out is the same as taking our lives!" the old man cried, spitting blood.
To him, this was humiliation on an unprecedented level. If he still had his cultivation, he could kill them all with a single thought.
Now… his only option was to sacrifice himself and leave his little granddaughter alone in the world. But first, he was trying to make them show mercy until the very last moment; after all, his granddaughter having someone was more important than his honor.
"You idiots! Young Master Mulloy chose this place a long time ago. Don't you see everyone else already left? Why do you still want to buy this place? Shut up and get out! In a few days, we'll be building a grand residence here, and you're getting in our way!" the scarred man shouted impatiently.
"But… but we spent money on this place! We even have the deed! How can you drive us out?" Temzi exclaimed, tightening her grip on the kitchen knife.
"Oh yeah? You have the deed? Then it's easy. Show it to me, and we'll reimburse the original price," the scarred man said.
Temzi lit up and ran to the room. In an instant, she came back out with a torn page.
"This is the document! See? We weren't lying!"
The scarred man took the deed and nodded. "Correct, this really is the deed."
Then he smiled and, with a motion, a wave of power shredded the deed to pieces right in front of Temzi, scattering the fragments into the wind.
Temzi was instantly stunned.
"Where's the deed? Get lost!" the scarred man barked.
"You… you… you bully…!" Temzi had never imagined those people could be so vile. They even destroyed what Darian had helped build with his money.
Tears streamed down her face, but she didn't make a single sound.
After a snort, she roared and charged at that leader with her kitchen knife in hand.
*BANG!*
He spat and delivered a casual kick.
"NO!" The old man let out a heart-wrenching roar.
But he knew his granddaughter was relatively fine, because that man hadn't used his real power.
Temzi rolled on the ground, coughing blood, but… she steadied herself and stood up trembling, still holding her kitchen knife. Her eyes shone with a coldness that shouldn't exist in a little girl.
The scarred man frowned. Impatiently, he waved to the people behind him. "Take these idiots away."
"Sir, if they keep shouting like this, it won't be good," one of them said.
"Are you stupid? Knock them out. Don't you even know how to do something that simple? Find a place to bury the old man. As for the brat, she can be sold to Evil Path cultivators," the scarred man ordered.
Several people's eyes lit up. They would even make some extra money selling this little girl. They were just about to move when an icy voice sounded.
"I'm really curious how you can be this repulsive without the heavens doing anything to put you in your place. Oh! I mean… I'm here, so everything's exactly where it should be."
