Cultivation Through Artifacts-Chapter 342 - Body Tempering
"Then, can senior please bring me the items on that list?" Khal asked with a calm smile, snapping Cruz out of his daze.
"S-Sure...Right away. Also, don't call me senior, you make me look old. Just call me Cruz."
"I see, then Cruz it is." Khal nodded and watched as Cruz walked away into a small room before coming back with several boxes in their hands.
"There you go. Although I still can't understand what you need all these things for, I won't care until you pay me." sighed Cruz and quickly added, "All of this will be a total of seven hundred thousand, four hundred and fifty Contribution Points."
"That is quite a lot, but whatever," Khal muttered under his breath, causing Cruz's mouth to twitch, and pulled out a silver token from his pocket after checking all the items in all of the boxes.
It was the Moon Token he used to get here, and it turned out that it not only was a teleportation token, allowing the user to teleport back at the Moon Sect once every month but was also an object that held his accumulated Contribution Points, just like how a bank card would with money.
"Do you need anything else?" Cruz asked Khal as he handed his Moon Token back, but Khal just shook his head and clasped his hands before his chest once he put all of the crates into his spatial ring.
"I got everything, thank you. Now if you excuse me." saying his farewell with a respectful bow, Khal turned around and with Elder Rene on his side, he left the store.
Watching as the door closed slowly with Khal's and Elder Rene's back gradually disappearing in the distance, Cruz scratched his head with an awkward face before closing his eyes and sighing.
"I wonder which family he hails from to be this rich. Haa... Life is truly unfair." 𝑓𝔯𝑒e𝘸e𝘣𝓷𝘰ѵe𝚕.c૦𝙢
However, who would guess what his reaction would be if he finds out that Khal hailed from no wealthy family neither did he acquire that much wealth through hard work, but have stolen it from a vault on Planet Thov after killing all the crawlers living there; he would definitely freak out, no question about it!
Meanwhile, somewhere on the western side in the center of the sect, Khal was standing before a huge building, seemingly built out of Moon Silver, an extremely durable material, and other shiny materials, giving the whole place a somewhat luxurious feeling.
"And this will be your residence." Elder Rene said calmly and quickly added as he summoned a silver scroll into his hand, "But remember, although you have become a Core Disciple and have greater benefits than the rest, you still need to obey basic rules so make sure you read this."
Catching the scroll which Elder Rene threw at him, Khal nodded and tossed it into his spatial ring, "I will, thank you."
"Perfect. Then if you have any questions or you can always find me in the Moon Pavilion, located on the northern side of the Core Court." Elder Rene said calmly and without saying anything else vanished into thin air.
'Moon Pavilion? I will make sure to check that out once.' Khal thought to himself and walked into the building, which he can call his home from this moment on.
Meanwhile, in the very center of the sect, on top of a small silver mountain, where everything shone with a gentle silver light, Elder Rene stood before Senior Lin and the rest of the sect Elders.
"So? Did you find anything special about him?" Elder Shiu asked, his voice holding slight impatience which was a rarity if one knew him well enough.
Elder Rene glanced at Elder Shiu in silence and after pondering for a while he shook his head.
"I couldn't. For some reason, I couldn't sense his real Cultivation Base nor his Talent's nature. It was almost like something akin to an invisible barrier restricted me from doing so."
"What? Even you too?" all the Elders present showed great surprise, as all of them understood just what kind of technique the man before them was practicing, thus they couldn't really comprehend how he failed to see through a boy who was several years younger than them!
"Anything else you found except that?" suddenly Senior Lin spoke up, quietening down everyone around in an instant and making them focus on Elder Rene once again.
"As a fact, I indeed did find something interesting." as he said those words, he began to narrate the events that happened in the Thousand Herb Garden, putting everyone into deep silence on the hill once he finished talking.
"This... Those items... Can you recall what their name was?" Senior Lin asked with a slight frown, thinking about something that even she could hardly believe.
"Yes, I can." Elder Rene nodded and after recalling the herb names on the list he saw for a glimpse in Khal's hands, he began to recite them one by one.
'Rainbow Ginseng, Hellflame Rose, Abyss Slime, Frozen Silk... These are herbs that are each other's nemesis and could cause a great explosion if tried to mix together, but if they reach a given year...' reaching that point in her thought, Senior Lin's eyes widened abruptly and raised her face, showing a stupefied expression that no one has ever seen before.
"He is tempering his body! He wants to temper his body with those herbs!"
"What? Impossible! He can't be a Body Temperer at such a young age, can he? But even if he is, each of those herbs can mean immediate death if consumed, much less if one tries to mix them and use them to temper their bodies!" Elder Shiu voiced his doubts immidieatly, but to his and everyone's great surprise, Senior Lin shook his head. ƒ𝓇e𝙚𝔀𝐞𝚋𝓃𝐨𝘷e𝙡.𝒄𝗼m
"That must be indeed the case if the herbs are of low quality. However, if they matured enough and one knows them as if they were the back of their hands, with extreme caution it is possible to mix them together and use them as a way to temper one's body!"
"But the process is..."
"Extremely dangerous and almost 99% the chance he will fail and die, yes. But it is still possible." Senior Lin nodded calmly as he answered Elder Shiu's doubts.
Everyone on the hill fell into utter silence, causing the surroundings to become so silent that even their heartbeats could be heard from meters away with a little bit of concentration!
As the silence continued to go on with no one talking or doing a thing, suddenly Elder Rene cleared his throat and asked, "So.... Should we stop him or not?"
