Cultivation Daddy-Chapter 118 - 117: The Uninvited Guests
Li Jain was impressed with Li Yuhan’s ability to think clearly even when in danger. Although didn’t think about escaping when the Golden Sun Lion dug out it’s eyes, it could’ve been because he didn’t know it would’ve gone mad. He still found a way to defeat his opponent without taking much damage.
"Boss, you have visitors." Bai Lian voice came from outside the storage room door.
A visitor?... Li Jain couldn’t think of who that might be. If it was the three old men, Bai Lian would’ve said old man... But a visitor, could be someone’s he hasn’t met before.
"Bring them to the backyard, let them have a seat in the pavilion, and I’ll be there shortly." Li Jain was about who they were, but first, he had to go get his baby out of that dangerous realm.
He active a talisman and stepped in the formation. I’m an instant, he was gone. The next moment, he appeared right next to the unconscious Yuhan.
The body of the Golden Sun Lion was a mess, pieces all over the place. Li Jain couldn’t help admiring the Whirling Storm Prison and Sky Cleaving Wind technique.
Li Yuhan is only at the first stage of both techniques and he was already able to defeat a level beast that is known for its hard skin and physical strength.
Li Jain patted Yuhan’s little face lovingly: "You’ve done well." He murmured and pick him up on his shoulder and carried him out.
Maybe it was because he didn’t expect anyone to be in the secret realm, he didn’t notice the pair of eyes that were looking at him.
After he left the secret realm, the three figures came out. They were astonished!
"Just how many outsiders are in this secret realm?!" One of the figures asked.
"This is troubling. But we have already sent words to the elders. All we can do now is sit and wait." Another one said.
"From what I saw, they’re from the same place."
What should we do now?" He asked narrowing his gaze at the ground.
They had intended to take advantage of the chaos, hoping to reap the benefits after the boy defeat the lion or if he didn’t make it, the lion would be exhausted by the , then they would take advantage of it. but now it seemed they were caught off guard.

Li Jain took Li Yuhan out, clean him up and placed him in the bed next to Yujian .
"Father, What happened to him?!" Li Yujian asked worriedly
Li Jain sighed softly, brushing a small hair away from Yuhan’s forehead: "He and Xiao Cheng sneak into the secret realm. He than encountered a Golden Sun Lion."
"Did he win?"
"Yeah, he defeated the Golden Sun Lion just like you did with the Serpent. You guys are sooo great." Li Jain said with a smile that didn’t reach his eyes.
Li Yujian was stunned his mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water. "Are you still angry? I said I’m sorry..."
"And I said I’m not angry."
"Then why am I still laying here?" Li Yujian asked feeling grievance, he had been in bed for over a week and he would love to get up, train and go to school, but he can’t.
"Oh sweetie, I wasn’t the one who forced you to lay there. It was because of your victorious battle. Until your body refines all of the poison you absorb, I’m afraid you’re going to have to rest a bit longer." Li Jain said gently.
"But... You could give me a pill or remedy to speed up the process. I know you could if you’d wanted to. Surely you have something that could help!" Li Yujian pouted, feeling frustrated. He looked at his father with pleading eyes, but Li Jain harden his heart this time.
"Is that what you were thinking when you fought against the Ghoshscale Viper? You wouldn’t even let your guardian beast assist you, was it because you don’t care about your life, or you thought; ’when I’m in critical condition, Dad would save me?’" Li Jain asked multiple questions coldly.
Li Yujian flinched at the sharpness in his father’s voice: "I, I thought I could handle it." He stammered: "I didn’t want to be a burden."
Usually, when Li Jain heard the word ’burden’, he’ll softened. But it didn’t work this time. His cultivation method was paying off, he is becoming more human, thanks to his children.
"You have move on, and know that the situation now is different from before. I’m doing everything I can, for you all to feel safe and secure. But when I look sometimes, it seems like everyone is walking on a thin egg shell and I don’t know why." Li Jain eyes felt watery. He himself didn’t know why he has the urge to cry.
"We’ve been together for only a few months, but I’ve been with your brothers for almost a year. Still you guys won’t tell me about important things that are bothering you. I’m not going to disappear, so what’s the insecurity about? Strength isn’t just about power, it’s about knowing when to seek help."
"Dad..." Li Yujian called out hesitantly
Li Jain got up from the bed and brush off the nonexistent dust from his robes: "I have remedies, but I’m not going to rush your healing. Overexerting yourself now would lead to serious repercussions later. I’m sorry sweetie."
"I’ll be more careful, Father. I promise. I’m really sorry." Li Yujian voice tremble as he try to hold his tears.
All he wanted was to train and progress in his cultivation quickly. He didn’t meant for this to happen. Now he lay paralyzed, bound by the consequences of his choices. And to make it all worse, he even disappoint his father!
Li Jain pause at the door and looked back: "My bed is occupied, I’ll need to add two more beds. Xiao Cheng might come back injured and Xiao Sheng and Xuan might sneak in too and injured themselves. By then, I’ll just turn this room into a pharmacy."
With that, he walk out and close the door. Li Yujian was sleepless. He had warmed his siblings to behave themselves. This is the first time he had seen his father angry and it’s scary. Not in the way he thought it would be.
"I really messed up." He muttered to himself.
...
Li Jain went out to meet his guests. And just has he’d thought, he had seen those people before. And from their appearance, they look like big shots.
Their robes were embroidered with intricate symbols. Each of them wore invisible mask to hide their expressions, but Li Jain could still sense their disdain.
"What can I help you with?" Li Jain asked calmly
One of the man stood up: "Are you Li Jain? The owner of this Spiritual Tavern?"
Li Jain nodded: "Yes, that’s me. What business do you have with me?"
The man leaned closer, his eyes was sharp and calculating: "We’ve heard of your... recent exploits and were curious about your methods. Some say you can cultivate in ways that defy conventional understanding."
Li Jain felt the tension in the air. These were not just patrons; they could be potential rivals, or worse, enemies. But he wasn’t afraid of them.
"I do what I must to provide for my family and to protect my interests." he replied, aware of the unspoken challenge.
The man smirked, leaning back slightly, as though savoring the moment. "We’d like to discuss a potential partnership."
"Let stopped you right there before you go any further. I’m not interested in partnership, none would I give out my recipes. The dishes are for sale, you can buy and figure out the ingredients yourself."
The man’s smirk was replaced by irritation: "You don’t know who we are and you’re in a rush to draw a clear line. But I assure you, collaboration would be mutually beneficial for both parties."
He gestured to his companions who exchanged knowing glances.
"My dedication lies with my little family, not to those who seek to exploit my craft for their own gain. I know you must have checked and found out that I have no backing, so you here to pressure me."
The most imposing figure among them, a old man with white hair: "You may be risking more than you realize. The paths you tread are not as solitary as you believe."
His meaning was clear. They’re all business men and understood the hidden threats clearly.
"Who are you guys?"
The old man’s gaze sharpened, but his posture remain relaxed as he replied: "We are but humble investors, seeking to expand our reach in the marketplace of cultivation. We are from Jade Cliff City. You can think of us as... mentors of potential."
The other men chuckled softly, their voices were filled with condescension.
Li Jain had never heard about Jade Cliff City. The only places he knew and heard about about are Qingyuan Town, Fengwu City, South River City, and the Capital. He hasn’t even been to the last two locations mentioned.
Those people sitting in front of him are all in the Divine Power realm and the old man who he assumes was their leader was in the Great Power realm.
Li Jain was forced to admit that those people were very very powerful and going against them wouldn’t be a good idea. But he wasn’t just going to give in. He has plenty of ways to deal with people with higher cultivation. Although the chances of success is slim with most risk... He believes that he can still deal with them.
"I appreciate your interest, but I don’t need investors. My methods are my own, built through hard work and sacrifice. I don’t have any ambition to expand my business"
The white-haired man play with his bear as if in deep thoughts: "And yet, sacrifice can be both a strength and a vulnerability. Let us show you how our resources could elevate your ambitions...or perhaps we could introduce consequences to your stubbornness."
"I think he has children, right? Seven if I’m not mistaken." Another man said with a smirk.
"A man with such burden should consider the risks his pride invites."
Li Jain’s heart sank at the mentioned of his children. It was an exploitative tactic and he admit, it did hit his vulnerability. He clenched his fists tightly.
"Alright, I think it’s time to see the guests out." He gestured towards the door: "Sorry that I can’t escort you. But I’m sure you know the way you came in. If anyone of dares to touch my children, I’ll make you regret it for the rest of your life!"
"This is merely a warning, you have two months to give us desirable answer. Have a good evening, Mr. Li."
The men left the pavilion. Their laughter was echoing throughout the yard.
