Cultivating with Bragging System-Chapter 501 - 252 I Am Merciful as a Demon! Please Come and Whip Me! (8000 words)_5
However, the next moment, they were all stunned. Xiang Shan and his group of Pureblood Demon Race members weren’t criticizing the Foreign Demons behind them at all. Instead, they walked along together, talking and laughing. Their attitude wasn’t that of superiors and subordinates, but rather of friends.
Even though the group of Foreign Demons appeared somewhat uncomfortable and were subconsciously deferential, it was still clear that they were different from ordinary attendants. A unique vitality radiated from their very bones.
CRASH!
Just then, a nearby building exploded into rubble. A figure shot out from the ruins, drenched in fresh blood. It was a gravely injured Foreign Demon, being mercilessly whipped by its master in the middle of the street.
The bystanders scattered, keeping their distance as they were long accustomed to such scenes. A Pureblood noble disciplining his attendant was perfectly normal.
"Stop!"
Xiang Shan stepped forward, planting himself in front of the Foreign Demon. He gazed solemnly at the whip-wielding figure before him.
"Xiang Shan?" The Pureblood Demon Race member frowned, puzzled. "What are you doing?"
"What wrong has he committed that you must whip him so brutally?" Xiang Shan demanded.
"Are you insane? Why do you care why I’m whipping him? I paid good money for him, so I’ll beat him however I damn well please!" Jueyuan looked utterly baffled. He needed a reason to beat a Foreign Demon? Couldn’t he just do it for fun?
"All demons are equal. Though he is your attendant, he has his own dignity and demonhood. No matter the reason, you should not whip him so indiscriminately!" Xiang Shan said, each word deliberate and filled with conviction.
As soon as he spoke, the street fell deathly silent.
Clearly, such a statement was explosive.
Dignity? Demonhood?
Are those things a Foreign Demon is worthy of possessing? They don’t even count as real demons!
"Hah... Xiang Shan, I heard you’ve been playing some game about the Demon Ancestor, pretending to be a great, compassionate savior," Jueyuan scoffed after a moment of shock. "You’ve had your fun, so stop bothering me. I have no interest in playing along with your madness. Now, get lost!"
He was convinced Xiang Shan was just messing with him. In fact, everyone present thought the same.
However, they soon realized there wasn’t the slightest waver in Xiang Shan’s expression. His eyes were filled with resolve, and it seemed as though a faint, ethereal glow enveloped him as he stood between Jueyuan and the injured Foreign Demon.

Wang Xiu watched silently. This kid... is he for real?
As the strategist behind this entire chess game, he had been observing Xiang Shan’s every move. Everything Xiang Shan had done today was according to the guidance Wang Xiu had provided the night before. Originally, he had only intended for Xiang Shan to create a public persona to attract followers. But now... it seemed he was truly getting into the role. His solemn and dignified appearance was starting to resemble that of an enlightened monk!
Wang Xiu sensed that Xiang Shan’s words and actions now stemmed from the heart. This was not an act!
Da Meng Zhong Jue... truly remarkable! Wang Xiu marveled. A few interactions, some textual guidance, and a dose of cultural infusion had been enough to almost completely overturn the core beliefs of a true member of the Demon Race.
If not for the extreme risk of getting personally involved—where one wrong move in the Demon Realm could lead to being obliterated by its overlords—the effect would have been a hundred times stronger had Wang Xiu played the role himself.
"Xiang Shan, you can’t be serious, can you?" Jueyuan looked at Xiang Shan, who stood motionless before him, finding the whole situation absurd.
"Put down your whip," Xiang Shan urged. "Try to genuinely communicate with him. It’s countless times more effective than a whip!"
"What nonsense are you spouting? What is there to communicate with him about?" The more Jueyuan listened, the more ridiculous it sounded. To him, this Foreign Demon was nothing more than a punching bag. "You’d better get out of my way, or this whip won’t show you any mercy!"
Hearing this, Xiang Shan sighed. Then, in front of the countless onlookers, he sat down before the injured Foreign Demon.
"The True Demon is Merciful!" he declared. "If whipping is the only way to vent your feelings, then... come and whip me instead!"
Xiang Shan sat down calmly, closed his eyes, and formed the Inverted Lotus Seal with his hands.
At that moment, the entire street erupted.
"What the hell? The Ninth Young Master is going to take a whipping for that Foreign Demon?"
"He’s lost his mind! He’s truly gone mad!"
"He’s actually serious? I thought he was joking!"
"Unbelievable..."
Everyone buzzed with discussion, their eyes filled with disbelief as their gazes fixated on Xiang Shan, as if trying to see through him. Some finally realized that the Xiang Shan of today was truly different. He lacked the violent aura typical of the Demon Race. Instead, he exuded a tranquil presence that put others at ease.
"You think I wouldn’t dare?" Jueyuan sneered. The whip flew out with a sharp crack, tearing through the air before striking Xiang Shan.
CRACK!
A deep, bloody gash appeared, visible down to the bone.
Xiang Shan grunted but remained perfectly still, continuing to sit there. He hadn’t dodged, nor had he used his Demonic Qi to defend himself. He had taken the full force of the lash head-on.
At that moment, a dead silence fell over the crowd.
Jueyuan’s expression changed. He had never imagined Xiang Shan would actually sit there and take the hit without flinching.
Is he insane?
