Chapter 498: Chapter 252 I Am Merciful as a Demon! Please Come and Whip Me! (8000 words)_2

"To... go among the demons?"

The Demon Battle Arena was a common form of entertainment in the Demon Realm, similar in nature to beast fighting. The only difference was that instead of beasts, two Foreign Demons were trapped in the cage. The Demon Race is a species that inherently revels in brutality and slaughter; bloodshed stimulates their desires and fills them with excitement.

However, to distinguish themselves from lower-class demons, high-class demons rarely transformed into their true forms to fight like beasts, deeming the practice unrefined and inelegant. Instead, they preferred to duel by unleashing various Divine Skills, much like the Human Race. But their innate thirst for blood and violence was not so easily dispelled, which gave rise to the Demon Battle Arena. The sole purpose of this place was to satisfy the needs of the high-class demon lords. The more bloody and brutal the scene, the richer the rewards for the Demon Battle Arena.

Indeed, all rewards went to the arena. As for the Foreign Demons, they were merely tools snatched from various places, deprived of any rights a demon should possess. From the moment they were captured, they were doomed to die a cruel death. To further entertain the high-class demon lords, the Demon Battle Arena would even force-feed the Foreign Demons special elixirs, driving them into a frenzy and making the spectacles even more bloody and terrifying.

"Well, well, if it isn’t some rare guests! Welcome, young masters and ladies!"

It was still early in the day, but the only Demon Battle Arena in Three Origins City was already welcoming a dozen or so guests. The owner was a Dog-headed Demon, old and possessing meager strength, but his ability to operate this arena indicated he had significant backing. He was quite a figure within Three Origins City.

Upon seeing Xiang Shan and the others, the Dog-headed Demon’s heart skipped a beat, and he hurried over to greet them. Although this group consisted almost entirely of disfavored members from their respective Pureblood Families, he couldn’t afford to slight them. They were all of direct lineage, after all. As the saying goes, a starving camel is still bigger than a horse. Their status was far higher than the vast majority of the arena’s regular patrons.

"Forgive me, my lords," the Dog-headed Demon said, leading the way with a respectful bow. "I wasn’t aware you would be visiting and haven’t scheduled a match this morning! I implore you to wait just a moment while I make the arrangements. Please rest assured... the preparations may be a bit rushed, but we are professionals here. I guarantee you will all enjoy the show!"

In plain terms, it wasn’t normal business hours. But the customer was king, and these were pure-blooded lords. He had to make arrangements.

"No rush," Xiang Shan said, interrupting the Dog-headed Demon with a wave of his hand. "First, take us to see your stock."

"Ah... yes, of course! Everyone, please follow me!" The Dog-headed Demon was taken aback but didn’t overthink it. He was accustomed to such requests. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

Soon, they arrived in a sealed-off space containing over a hundred cages, each holding a Foreign Demon bound by special, movement-restricting shackles. An attendant was going from cage to cage, crushing blood-red elixirs and forcing the powder into their mouths. Before long, low growls rumbled from their throats as a ferocious aura began to emanate from them—a chilling presence, as if they could transform into crazed beasts at any moment.

"Is that the Soul-Loss Pill?" Xiang Shan asked with a frown, watching the feeding from a distance.

The Soul-Loss Pill, true to its name, could drive a Foreign Demon insane, reducing it to a mere beast. An overdose had horrific side effects, most often leading to madness and the utter destruction of its soul.

"Yes. To provide a thrilling show for our esteemed lords, these goods are maintained with high-quality Soul-Loss Pills. Before entering the arena, we make sure they’ve had at least five!" the Dog-headed Demon explained.

Everyone frowned and looked toward Xiang Shan. Five pills were a lethal dose. Even they, as Pure-blooded Creatures, would find it difficult to withstand.

"Have all of these been fed that much?" Xiang Shan asked, arching an eyebrow as he gestured to the batch of Foreign Demons before them.

"Not yet. The final pill has to be given right before they enter the arena, otherwise they won’t make it!"

Xiang Shan breathed a sigh of relief. He took out a bag of Demon Crystals and handed it over. "I’m buying this entire batch of Foreign Demons."

"Huh?" The Dog-headed Demon froze, not comprehending at first.

"Didn’t you hear him? Brother Shan said he’s buying these Foreign Demons!" a young man from another Pureblood Family snapped from the side.

"But... my lords, this isn’t a place that sells Foreign Demons! If you need some, I have a friend in the business..." The Dog-headed Demon was in a difficult position. He had carefully selected these Foreign Demons; although they were disposable tools, selling them off like this was not his intention.

"It seems you don’t understand. I’m not negotiating with you," Xiang Shan said, his hands clasped behind his back. His tall figure loomed over the owner, his gaze imperious. The Dog-headed Demon instantly broke out in a cold sweat, feeling as though a colossal boulder was pressing down on his shoulders, making it hard to breathe.

"Young Master Xiang Shan..." the Dog-headed Demon growled through gritted teeth, his eyes turning fierce. "I may be lowly, but I have a powerful patron backing this Demon Battle Arena! I hope you will consider your actions carefully!"

"Heh. Trying to use your backer to pressure me? Who the hell do you think you are?"

Xiang Shan sneered and lashed out. His strike was as fast as Thunder, unleashing a terrifying force. The Dog-headed Demon was sent flying backward with a bloody hole through his chest. He crashed to the ground, creating a vast crater and making the entire space seem as if it were on the verge of collapse.

The commotion immediately attracted the attention of the Demon Battle Arena’s guards. Countless figures converged from all directions, among them several formidable experts whose overwhelming auras shrouded the area.

But upon seeing the faces of Xiang Shan and his companions, these powerful guards hesitated. They clearly recognized their identities. If it were only Xiang Shan, it might have been a different matter. But this was a group of a dozen or so direct descendants from the Pureblood Families. No matter how useless they were, they were not people the guards could touch. The consequences would be unimaginable.
