Blant thought for a moment and then answered:
“Today, you’ve been beaten, and for a short period of time, there shouldn’t be too much of a problem. However, you must understand, can the actions you took today be canceled out by what happened?”
“You have to know, just now, he didn’t say any superfluous words to you.”
Barber swallowed, his mind now flashing through many serious cases.
“The reason he didn’t resist us before, could it have been because he wanted to hide his Chinese Kung Fu?”
“If that’s the case, it seems he’s not planning to hide it anymore.”
“That also means, our days ahead are going to be difficult.”
The three of them talked back and forth, already envisioning their miserable future.
“In any case, regarding Li Ang and Charles, you probably know more than I do. Moreover, I can’t teach you anything else.”
Blant glanced at them and turned to leave.
“What do you guys usually do when you make your girlfriend angry?”
“Send her a bouquet?”
“Maybe buy her makeup? Skincare products?”
“In fact, what I generally consider is to woo her over in bed.”
“Bullshit, Barber, that example isn’t universal. Do you want us to imagine Li Ang as our girlfriend?”
“Alright, alright, let’s change it up. What would you do if you made your parents angry?”
“That’s better. Maybe we can use the same method.”
…
On the way back, Charles was incredibly excited.
Although Li Ang had boosted his confidence before, he had never had the opportunity to verify his own strength.
Today, he finally believed that he could be very strong.
“Charles, where did you encounter them today, and did they come to trouble you again?”
Li Ang frowned and continued:
“Next time something like this happens, you should notify me immediately, after all, there were three of them.”
On the surface, Charles seemed mighty today, but Li Ang was clear about his strength.
Handling one was no issue. Two would require a desperate fight, and three, there was no chance of winning.
The easy win today was mainly because he got the upper hand first.
“Er… actually, I went looking for them,” Charles said, glancing at Tyler somewhat embarrassed.
Tyler raised an eyebrow; he knew he had misunderstood something. Fortunately, he was not far off and had accidentally hit the target.
Li Ang looked at Charles, helplessly; in this situation, he couldn’t really say much.
A few punks from school truly didn’t matter much. His main concern was that Charles, in a novice’s inflated state of mind, might provoke the wrong people or cause serious consequences.
There’s a saying, “With a lethal weapon in hand, the desire to kill arises.”
When fighting with others becomes your specialty, some problems that could normally be resolved with words might also be faced with violence as the first response.
Take Chen Hegao, the creator of the Mad Dog Fist, for instance. The first lesson for his disciples is to thoroughly understand criminal law.
“Let it pass this time, as it’s a long-standing conflict. But remember, you cannot initiate trouble in the future. This is a doctrine of many schools of Chinese Kung Fu,” Li Ang reminded him solemnly.
Actually, the same could be said by Tyler, being a police officer, as initiating fights is indeed unlawful and against discipline.

Charles nodded. With his character, it took immense courage for him to take revenge.
The trio parted at the crossroads, with Tyler driving and Li Ang and Charles biking back.
Once he was back on his bike, Li Ang thought about the cycling competition again. Even though he had refused Falcon Club’s invitation to compete, he was determined to participate in the race.
Worst case scenario, he would just pay for a spot. He estimated it wouldn’t cost much.
Sometimes, when you’re thinking about something, it happens.
His phone rang. It was Eric calling.
Eric got straight to the point, “Hello, my dear Li, I heard that things didn’t go so well with Falcon Club?”
Li Ang was surprised. The incident had just happened, and Eric was already in the know.
“Yes, you’re right, your information is really up-to-date.”
“I have contacts inside Falcon Club. I just heard about it, but it’s not surprising that the talk didn’t end well.”
“Oh? What do you mean?”
Li Ang knew right away that Eric must be privy to some insider information.
Eric, not considering Li Ang an outsider, explained directly:
“The person you were negotiating with should be Qiaos, right? That guy is notoriously greedy. The club’s budget for a hired athlete is 2,000.
“For the experienced athletes, he’s somewhat restrained, but for a newcomer like you, I bet the number he quoted was much lower.”
Upon hearing this figure, Li Ang was even more convinced of the man’s greed.
“I have to say, you’ve hit the nail on the head. He offered me 300.”
“300?”
Eric laughed loudly on the other end of the line.
“Even for a newcomer, 300 for sponsorship is way too low.”
If Li Ang were to represent Falcon Club, he would wear their logo on his clothing, his bike tags, as well as the name of the team he represented.
So with the spot and an additional 300, calling it a sponsorship fee was no problem.
“If you still want to participate, I can give you a spot from our team, and you don’t need to promote anything.”
As Eric spoke, Li Ang hesitated, about to decline.
This was different from Falcon Club. If Li Ang accepted Eric’s offer, it would be like taking advantage of them for free.
Eric then added:
“You know, if you’re looking for a sponsor, I have one ready for you.”
“Alright, let me be more direct. It’s my grandfather’s furniture factory. Although exposure from a bike race might not be much help to the factory, it would make him happy for a long time.”
“If I were to compete, probably no one would notice me, so I thought…”
Eric’s voice slowed down, as if he was talking about something embarrassing.
“That’s enough, you don’t need to explain so much. There’s nothing to be embarrassed about. I’ll take the spot, and I’ll definitely achieve a result that will make your grandfather happy.”
Li Ang quickly agreed.
“Aren’t you going to ask how much the sponsorship is?” Eric asked.
“Actually, the sponsorship money isn’t that big of a deal. You know, with my current popularity, the amount I can draw from such a small-scale competition is only a few hundred to a thousand. So, whatever.”
Li Ang’s tone was relaxed.
Eric on the other end was also very pleased.
“Hahaha, I’m so glad you agreed. Don’t worry, I’ve already prepared your sponsorship fee. You should receive it by tomorrow.”
