Cultivating in the Wizard World-Chapter 271 - 241: Making Money! (Part 2)
After repeatedly confirming the cold numbers on the terminal, Jeming finally managed to calm himself down from the immense surprise.
Once his mind was at ease, he quickly figured out the key to it all.
The reason the [Self-Stabilizing Field Regulation Protocol] could accumulate such a terrifying amount of wealth in just ten years was mainly that at the beginning, major Wizard Influences, upon receiving the official recommendation from the ’Artificial Intelligence’ Felix, would cautiously purchase a copy as a sample for internal experiments and testing, regardless of its utility.
With the backing of ’official certification’, sales naturally exploded.
Afterwards, the rate of earning money probably wouldn’t be as exaggerated.
He opened the light screen and glanced at the detailed annual income of the past ten years, quickly confirming his thoughts.
The first year’s income accounted for almost ninety percent of the total revenue.
He speculated that in the future, when the technology is completely disseminated, the profit from the [Self-Stabilizing Field Regulation Protocol] should stabilize at around one hundred million low-level military merits per year.
After all, only Low-Level Logistics Wizards need the [Self-Stabilizing Field Regulation Protocol], and Logistics Wizards themselves constitute only a minority of the total Wizards.
Moreover, its main applicable school is within logistics, encompassing Alchemy, Magic Potions, and Rune Science, which further reduces the number of Wizards suitable to purchase the [Self-Stabilizing Field Regulation Protocol].
And not all Low-Level Wizards studying these disciplines would purchase this technology, so this estimated data should be considered fairly reasonable.
However, this income is already tremendously high!
Not to mention a Low-Level Wizard like Jeming who is still struggling at the bottom, even many High Tier Wizards above the Sixth Level would be envious upon knowing this number!
"Phew..."
No matter what, this unexpected income has at least completely alleviated the dire predicament of his savings.
Thinking about this, Jeming almost without hesitation contacted Professor Clark.
Once the communication connected, Clark’s ever-unmovable stoic face quickly appeared on the light screen.
Repressing the excitement in his heart, Jeming informed of the reason for his contact with as calm a tone as possible: "Professor, this is the full balance payment for the Seventh Level Large Elemental Pool I ordered."
With that said, Jeming skillfully operated the terminal, transferring a gigantic sum of 18 billion military merits to Clark.
On the other side of the light screen, Professor Clark fell into an uncharacteristic silence upon receiving such a large sum.
Afterwards, his deep eyes surveyed Jeming up and down and asked the first question that nearly took Jeming’s breath away: "Did you... sell yourself?"
Jeming face went black at these words, quickly explaining the legitimate source of these assets.
He then nervously inquired: "Professor, when might the Seventh Level Large Elemental Pool be completed?"
Clark quietly listened to Jeming’s explanation, a hint of satisfied approval lurking deep within his cold eyes.
However, soon after, he returned to his nearly indifferent demeanor.
Hearing Jeming’s question, Clark shook his head: "I’ve been researching the Living Plane at the Ice and Flame Plane recently, so I haven’t really been keeping an eye on the construction progress of the Seventh Level Large Elemental Pool."
Then, Jeming noticed his professor, seemingly contacting someone else through other channels.
It was a long time before Clark replied to Jeming again:
"The main body of the Elemental Pool has been completed, what’s left is the final injection of Origin and the tuning and nurturing tasks. At this rate, it should be ready for official delivery in less than ten years."
Jeming was somewhat surprised in his heart; he hadn’t expected the construction to be so swift.
The Seventh Level Large Elemental Pool commands such a high price, naturally because it’s well worth its value.
Suffice to say, it is reputed as a ’man-made smaller Elemental Plane.’
In fact, it truly is such.
Because the most foundational core manufacturing material of this thing is a Plane Origin containing a ’complete Fire Elemental Rule!’
What does ’complete Fire Elemental Rule’ mean?
Simply put, it means the rule information it contains can theoretically let a Wizard who knows nothing about the Fire Elemental to fully master a ’Fire Elemental Rule’ from scratch, reaching the threshold of the Sixth Level completely!
That is... a full one thousand threads of Origin!
Just the cost of this raw material alone reaches a terrifying price of a hundred billion low-level military merits!
Moreover, the raw materials needed to build a Seventh Level Large Elemental Pool are not limited to just Plane Origin.
Clark did say he offered him a cost price, and looking at the value of various raw materials, he indeed wasn’t lying.
Seeing Jeming, after receiving the balance payment, Clark suddenly asked: "Your ’compulsory service’ period should be coming up soon, right?"
Jeming was taken aback, then remembered the standard contract he signed at the ’Boundary Point’.
The saying that "participating in Plane Wars is an obligation for Low-Level Wizards and a reward for High Level Wizards in Wizard Civilization" wasn’t said for nothing.
Though the mandatory conscription associated with the academy has ended for him.
That doesn’t mean these Low-Level Wizards can just blissfully relax thereafter.
In the contract signed at the ’Boundary Point’ when registering, there indeed was a compulsory conscription clause: [Low-Level Wizards from Level One to Three will get a maximum two hundred-year freedom of rest after each Plane War. After this period, they will be compulsorily conscripted to participate in the next Plane War.]
However, to most Wizards struggling at the bottom, this clause is almost non-existent.
After all, the vast majority of Low-Level Wizards neither possess the capability nor the financial resources to support continuous research in labs for two hundred years.
They would typically voluntarily return to the battlefield having exhausted their Points or due to a research bottleneck.
Jeming’s situation was purely coincidental within the coincidence.
After roughly calculating the time, Jeming discovered that he really didn’t have much ’rest’ time left.
Although it could barely drag on until he received that Seventh Level Large Elemental Pool, there likely wouldn’t be enough time for much modification and tuning before being thrown onto an unknown battlefield again.
Thanking Professor Clark for the reminder and watching the other close the communication, Jeming started seriously planning his next course of action.
The deep modifications of the Seventh Level Large Elemental Pool as well as the Purgatory Sulfur Plane seemingly have to wait until the next Plane War is over before proceeding.
However, if he acts quickly, he might be able to test the actual combat power of the ’Black Giant’ he just developed in the upcoming Plane War!
With this in mind, Jeming no longer hesitated and opened the Magic Network Terminal to start ’spending lavishly’.
Since the Seventh Level Large Elemental Pool couldn’t be used for now, he planned to purchase a large batch of smaller Elemental Pools as temporary energy modules, providing enough energy for the Incubation Pool to catalyze the birth of the Black Giants!
Based on his ’design’ of the Black Giant species, as long as the energy is sufficient, it’s entirely possible to forcefully shorten the hatching time of a ’Black Giant’ from a hundred years to within half a year.
Of course, the downside of doing this is the massive consumption of energy.
Converted into smaller Elemental Pools, this means consuming a large amount of military merits.
But fortunately, the recently enriched Jeming is quite wealthy, not lacking this bit at all!
If he acts fast enough, he should be able to assemble a Black Giant combat squad before participating in the Plane War.
(Only one Chapter today, slightly writer’s block, also need to organize the plot outline of the next Plane.)
