Cultivating in the Wizard World-Chapter 188 - 174: The Pursuit
Jeming, hearing this, snapped back to reality from the power of the attack just now and nodded with a smile.
Under normal circumstances, a Wizard’s invasion of a plane is divided into multiple stages.
Aside from the earliest intelligence reconnaissance stage, the next two stages are quite important: the initial landing invasion stage and the current tug-of-war stage.
These two stages are both important and troublesome, primarily requiring a balance, showing the threat of Wizards, while not letting the indigenous people of the plane underestimate them too much.
The landing stage has already given the indigenous people of the Ice and Flame Plane enough confidence, so this round of battle is to give them a head-on blow!
Only by making these natives feel adequate pressure and fear can they take things seriously.
Under pressure and fear, the indigenous people will spontaneously, and as much as possible, mobilize their forces and fall into a long war abyss with the Wizards.
This requires higher-level Wizards to maintain a balance.
Just like the round of attack just now, although it appeared formidable, all the Wizards present knew that the attack was actually extremely restrained.
It’s known that after Witchcraft is released, it can continue to be manipulated.
Just like the Lava Giant-targeted Witchcraft just now, simply tweaking the cannon slightly would be enough to carve a hundreds-of-kilometers-long and tens-of-kilometers-wide obliteration zone on the Ice and Flame Plane.
If the duration of this Witchcraft were longer, and the cannon’s angle could adjust further, it would be enough to plow through the entire plane.
At that point, saying it could wipe out the entire Lava Giant race from the Ice and Flame Plane wouldn’t be an exaggeration.
But doing so would have no other meaning than forcing the Lava Giant King Ramos to detonate the Plane Origin for mutual destruction.
On the battlefield, the shocking scene of a massive number of Lava Giants being instantly dismantled by "Precise Destruction Witchcraft" was like a heavy hammer, smashing into the hearts of all living beings on the Ice and Flame Plane.
That power beyond comprehension made them taste true fear for the first time.
The allied army of the Lava Giants and Yetis abandoned their resistance, ignoring their long-standing grudges and defenses, and completely scattered, fleeing with unimaginable terror like a receding tide towards their respective homelands.
And this, was the "hunting moment" the Wizards had long awaited.
On the Wizard "ship" plane, the voice of Augustine, the commander-in-chief, resounded through the Magic Net Terminal, cold and decisive in every Wizard’s ear: "All units, attack! Pursue the routed enemies, maximize the collection of war materials and live samples!"
As the order was issued, Jeming and Viola, along with other Logistics Wizards waiting on the "ship" plane, unleashed their Flying Skill without hesitation, descending like a group of Grim Reapers once more into the scorched land of the Ice and Flame Plane.
They were no longer confined to the rear but joined with Combat Wizards, transforming into a cold flood of death, launching a pursuit on the retreating soldiers of the two tribes!
As a Third Level Wizard, Viola emanated a powerful wave of magic power, becoming a beacon in the night, naturally attracting scattered Low-Level Combat Wizards on the battlefield.
Glimmers of reliance and reverence for strength shone in their eyes as they instinctively gravitated towards Viola, forming a temporary squad of over ten people, tailing her deep into enemy lines, executing a harvest.
Jeming naturally followed Viola, with his goal being to capture as many prisoners as possible for subsequent research.
"These fools! How dare they pursue us!"
After casually slaying hundreds of scattered Lava Giants, their squad encountered a still-organized group of retreating soldiers.
This group, with a Fourth Level Lava Giant general at its core, consisted of around a few thousand Lava Giants, including over a hundred Second Level Lava Giants and several Third Level Lava Giants.
The Lava Eye of that Fourth Level general glowed with rage, seeing that the Wizards pursuing their remnant force of thousands were merely a squad of a dozen, the highest level being only Third Level Viola. This was nothing short of a monumental insult to its status as a general!
Under the immense humiliation and anger, this Fourth Level Lava Giant let out a deafening roar.
Its voice, accompanied by the eruption of magma, echoed across the horizon.
It abruptly halted its flight and locked its now somewhat crimson Lava Eye onto Jeming, Viola, and their companions.
"Counterattack! Kill these lowly invaders!" it roared.
Its massive body, carrying a terrifying force like a locomotive, turned directly toward Jeming and the squad, charging in.
Behind it, the few thousand Lava Giants that had been fleeing ignited like a powder keg by the general’s fury, recongealing into a wave of heat, bellowing in unison, turning back to reengage!
After a moment of surprise, the Wizard squad quickly spread out.
"Ash, Locke...you handle those Third Level Lava Giants!" Viola calmly instructed.
A few Second Level Wizards immediately took the orders and dashed forward, their Rune Staffs flickering with different colors of light, locking precisely onto their respective targets.
Viola, without hesitation, let a brilliant radiance erupt around her as she directly confronted the Fourth Level Lava Giant general.
The power levels of both sides had a noticeable disparity. Although wizards excelled at fighting above their level, the Magma Giants were a race recognized by Master Elvin as formidable combatants, and taking them down in a short time was no easy feat.
Viola moved with agility and efficiency, her body tracing graceful arcs in the air. Every gathering of energy was accompanied by a chilling aura.
Instead of confronting the enemies head-on, she relied on speed and anticipation, weaving through the gaps in the Fourth Level Magma Giant’s attacks to find its weak points and deplete its strength.
The remaining dozens of Second Level and thousands of First Level Magma Giants were naturally left to the two remaining Second Level Wizards and the eleven First Level Wizards, including Jeming.
As Viola charged towards the Fourth Level Magma Giant, she didn’t forget to glance back at Jeming’s side, a trace of undeniable concern flashing in her eyes.
After all, considering the normal combat capabilities of a wizard, facing life forms of the same rank, although they could maintain a crushing stance with their profound witchcraft skills, being able to fight one against a hundred would already be considered elite among elites.
Yet at this moment, Jeming and the other Second Level Wizard, along with eleven First Level Wizards, were to face thousands of Magma Giants!
This included over a hundred Second Level elites.
The ratio was too overwhelming; even for wizards, the pressure was enormous facing such an exaggerated number of enemies.
Every step was as perilous as treading on thin ice, and one careless move could lead to death.
Especially for Jeming, even though she knew he had previously studied Magma Giants, he was only at the First Level.
Viola even considered whether to draw more Third Level Magma Giants to alleviate the pressure on Jeming’s side.
However, before Viola could think further, Jeming displayed an astonishing level of combat power!
Bang! Bang! Bang!
In Viola’s worried glance, the six "Autonomous Floating Cannons" surrounding Jeming like wings instantly sprang to life as if imbued with consciousness, going full throttle upon receiving the command!
Each Floating Cannon was a small artillery unit, its internal beams swirling, precisely targeting the hundreds of advancing First Level Magma Giants approaching Jeming.
The cannon muzzles spewed out scorching energy beams and missiles, forming an impenetrable web of firepower!
The charging First Level Magma Giants were hindered by the precision strikes from the Floating Cannons.
Their rocky bodies were pierced by energy beams, lava blood splattering, as Magma Giants were either blasted directly by concentrated fire or scattered and repelled by dense energy strikes.
The six Floating Cannons, with startling efficiency and perfect coordination, easily suppressed the hundreds of First Level Magma Giants charging at him, even preventing their further advance, easing much of the pressure for the other wizards.
What surprised Viola even more was that despite facing so many enemies, Jeming himself didn’t actively cast any offensive witchcraft!
His primary focus was on deploying high-frequency sound wave magic to support his Floating Cannons!
On Jeming’s left wrist was a peculiar bracelet embedded with ten crystal-shaped Talisman Witchcraft Artifacts.
Driven by Jeming’s spiritual power, the ten talisman crystals flashed in rapid succession; each flash spread a wide-range high-frequency sound wave magic radiating from the crystals.
This sound wave magic, specially selected by Jeming, was invisible and untouchable, yet it dealt extreme damage to the Magma Giants’ internal structures, especially their resonant chambers and auditory mineral crystals!
Hundreds and thousands of Magma Giants were clutching their heads and howling in anguish under wave after wave of relentless high-frequency sound wave impacts.
Their colossal bodies trembled uncontrollably, the flow of lava within became erratic, causing their movements to slow and stiffen, even temporarily losing their ability to attack.
Jeming, by continuously unleashing high-frequency sound wave magic, suppressed the thousands of Magma Giants before him!
Of course, Jeming’s act of standing still and suppressing enemies with indiscriminate sound waves also made him a "thorn in the side" of many Magma Giants!
To these creatures naturally sensitive to sound vibrations, Jeming’s actions were outright provocation!
Almost all Magma Giants, whether attacking other wizards or being suppressed by Floating Cannons, instinctively focused their firepower on Jeming!
Boom! Boom! Boom!!
Apart from the distant Third Level Magma Giants and the Fourth Level Magma Giant leader, the other Magma Giants, in the battle intervals, roared angrily at Jeming, the "source of interference."
They erupted with scorching magma projectiles or summoned sharp ground spikes from the earth, relentlessly bombarding Jeming’s position in the sky like a torrential storm!
"Watch out!" Viola’s alarmed shout rang out from afar.
Yet, Jeming showed no intention of retreating.
Under everyone’s gaze, Jeming was instantly engulfed by the barrage of attacks.
