Crimson System of Vampire Prince-Chapter 60: Conspiracy
"Ahem, Feena, should I leave?" Victor asked hesitantly. π³ππ²ππ¨ππ―πππ§ππΉ.π°πΌπ
Feena came back to her senses and glanced at him. After a little pause, she nodded, "Okay, letβs go."
They moved out of the hidden room and appeared in the empty corridor where they had entered.
"Victor, thanks for the help, but Iβll be needing your help again tomorrow," Feena whispered.
Victor looked around the dark corridor. There was no torch on the walls, and the corridor felt chilly. He glanced at her and nodded reluctantly.
βI have to help her, that was the Oath. No doubt beating the shit out of her felt good.β He thought, and his lips twitched with a light smile.
Feenaβs tense shoulder relaxed. "Goodnight." She turned and walked away.
Victor also followed behind. He reached the stairs. There were many stairs all over the castle. The one before him was called Round Tower stairs. They lead all the way to the highest peak from the basement. Feena already started ascending the stairs.
βMy dorm is all the way down in the basement. I think this floor is near the gold faction dorms.β He thought and started climbing downward. As he reached the middle floors, he stumbled into Zara. She was chatting happily with a silver-haired boy.
"Hahahaha, Senior Aslan, I never knew you were this funny," Zara replied in mid-giggle.
"No, Zara, youβre exaggerating. Iβm just here to have a pleasant conversation with the prettiest girl of the Academy." Aslan replied in a silky voice. It felt like they werenβt words but whispers of the devil itself.
Zara blushed and playfully punched his arm, "Senior, you are too much."
Aslan caught her hand between his and smiled at her. She lowered her eyes as her heart raced.
"Ahem, Zara!" Victorβs thick and loud voice broke the two apart.
"Victor!" Zaraβs eyes widened, she glanced at Aslan, then at Him.
Aslan, on the other hand, smiled and moved toward Victor. "Oh, this is Victor, your childhood friend you were talking about?" Aslan stood before him and raised his head, staring into his eyes.
Zaraβs hand fidgeted with nervousness, her fingers flickering. She replied, "Y...Yes."
Victor tilted his head sideways and gazed at Zara. "Are you alright?"
Zaraβs anxiousness vanished, and a smile appeared on her face. "Yes, Iβm. This is my senior from the Blue Faction, Aslan Kauffman. We just met in the library this afternoon and went to have dinner in the main hall. He is a good person." She blurted out everything.
A frown appeared on Aslanβs face, which vanished in a glimpse. "So, this is Victor from the Black faction. A disgrace to humanity, and I heard he got blessed with the system at the age of 18 years." He mocked Victor with a smirk.
"Hahahah, Yes, I told you already who he is. Youβre so funny, Aslan." Zara giggled at Aslanβs jibe.
An exasperated sigh escaped from his lips. He moved aside and started descending. He paused near Zara and whispered, "I have known about your nature. And Iβm glad I never trusted you."
Zaraβs eyes widened, her heart shattered, her vision turned hazy. She gnashed her teeth and wiped away her tears. She thought, βWhy am I feeling heartache, and why is my body reacting to his words. He was a loser and will always be a loser. I never thought of him more than that, right? Then why?β
Aslan touched her shoulder and smiled, "Donβt worry about the trash, theyβre nothing but small stones you can easily remove them."
Zara shook her head and clenched her jaw. "He spoiled my mood."
Aslan took her hand and guided her to the dorm; she forgot everything else. A smirk appeared on Aslanβs face. βThat was a miraculous potion, swapping the love for Victor to me. Lord Raka went all out.β He thought giddily.
Victor ran down the stairs in fury, hands clenched, drawing blood from the palms and gritting his teeth. βWhy am I feeling angry? I have known Zara since we were little. Her selfish nature always remained the same; thatβs why I was never able to trust her. But why am I feeling angry at seeing her like this? He thought, not understanding his emotions.
He gasped as he reached his dorm gate, and as soon as he stepped inside, he stormed toward his room.
SLAM!
He slammed the door behind him. His hands fidgeted, his heart felt restless, and he walked hurriedly back and forth. He couldnβt sit, couldnβt think.
He muttered, "What is happening to me?"
"Victor! What happened?" Luke entered the room and shouted anxiously.
Victorβs eyes shook as he looked at him. Luke grabbed him by the arm and dragged him toward the bed. He sat down and pulled Victor down beside him.
"Here, drink this." Luke took out a small vial and extended it toward him.
Victor grabbed it and took a sip from it. A sour and burning sensation filled his mouth. His eyes widened, and he sniffed the vial. His eyes widened, and he muttered, "Alcohol!"
He was not shocked at drinking alcohol, but he was shocked because he could taste it. After turning into a Vampire, he wasnβt able to taste anything except for blood, but now he could taste alcohol. He gulped the small bottle. His throat burned, sour and stinging taste felt reinvigorating to him.
He felt drowsy, and the walls were swirling around him. He looked at Luke with his shaking vision. "Tskβ Damn, Gods are cruel, my friend. If they had made you a girl, you would have been considered the most beautiful girl. But Alas..."
Luke backed away and exclaimed, "Why did you drink the whole bottle. That was the dwarven alcohol Nana gave me. Itβs the strongest alcohol in Neero."
Victor stood up unsteadily, swaying back and forth. He grabbed the railings and steadied himself. "Oh, my friend, my beautiful Elf, could you get me more of this stuff?" He asked in a squeaky voice.
SLAP!
Luke slapped his forehead and muttered, "This guy is totally out."
"Victor, what happened? Why were you so agitated before?" Luke asked.
"Who? Me Victor? No, no, my beautiful Elf, Iβm Vlad Lunaria, not Victor." Victor replied, shaking his head.
"Arghhh, I never thought he was this type of drunk," Luke grumbled.
"Why did you seem angry before?" Luke asked again.
"Hmm, yes, because of stupid Zara. And bitch like a senior. He was pretty too, but youβre prettier than him." He replied, pointing at Luke.
Thud!
Victor fell face-first on the bed, and a snoring sound echoed in the room.
Luke took a relieved breath and muttered, "Thanks to the Elven God, he fell asleep. I wonβt let him drink again, not in front of me."
Luke leaned against the wall and muttered, "I told you not to associate with another faction. Theyβll never be our friends. Our world is different. We will always be considered inferior to them."
Luke turned and gazed out of the window. His eyes drifted toward the stars, and he whispered, "Stars in the sky will never fall for people like us."
