Craved by the Wrong Volkov-Chapter 302: Genny’s plan part 2
Braelyn’s POV
The moment we stepped into the store, we obviously drew attention. It was an eye-catching sight to see a lady being followed by two titans with icy gazes.
Jeremy and Zayne were clearly uncomfortable about the entire situation, but it had nothing to do with me. I strode forward towards the negligee section, the most crowded part of the store.
My gaze began glancing through the pieces, my shades perched on my head as I examined them with an indifferent expression, while secretly cursing Genny for not choosing a more decent shop.
The salesgirls probably assumed I came from money, judging by the way I walked in, disregarding my clothes. One sales assistant immediately jogged towards me.
"Good day, ma’am. Do you need help?" she politely asked with her best customer service smile.
I gave her a polite smile. "I am just looking around," I responded, my fingers brushing against a striking, scandalous lace piece. It took everything in me not to blush.
The salesgirl immediately nodded. "I see you have great taste, but if you don’t mind, I can take you to our latest designs straight from the runway," she chimed, and my eyes lit up immediately.
"Of course," I replied.
"Please, this way, ma’am." Her gaze drifted over my shoulders to the two men trailing behind me. A faint blush crept up her cheeks before she glanced away, leading me further into the store.
We arrived at an aisle that was literally packed. I guessed everyone knew where the latest pieces were, aside from me. "I apologise for the crowd..." she trailed off, picking up a green piece.
"This would look lovely on you," she said, presenting what looked like a nightgown, except it was completely sheer. I nodded and accepted it anyway. At my approval, she continued picking out several pieces, some more scandalous than the others.
Her comments were all simply:
"You would look great in this..."
"Your husband would be dying to see you in this."
"This goes perfectly well with your colouring."
I didn’t stop her and just let her continue selecting more until I couldn’t keep a straight face any longer. "These are all perfect..." I said awkwardly.
"Can I try them on? The VIP changing room," I added.
Her eyes immediately flickered with something so quick it almost went unnoticed.
"Of course, but your guards will have to wait at the door. It is a female-only space. We have a separate area for them if they want to wait," she explained, staring at my shadows. A small smile curled on her lips.
"Lead the way. I need to try them on before making my decision." With my approval, she led us towards the changing areas. We arrived at the door, where I gave Jeremy and Zayne a defeated look.
"Wait here," I said before going inside.
The changing room was a bit crowded, with several cubicles and mirrors.
"This way, ma’am..." the salesgirl led me deeper, past the crowded area into a quieter corridor. At the end, there were several doors leading to the VIP changing rooms.
These rooms were normally used by VIP clients who needed models to showcase pieces for them. It was more like a mini presentation room.
At the end of the corridor, the salesgirl’s expression shifted.
"Someone is waiting for you, Miss Alderheim," she said, referring to me by my maiden surname.
Then she pushed open the last door at the end of the corridor and stepped aside for me to enter. I walked in, and the door was immediately shut behind me. The slam echoed through the room.
The space was as spacious as I expected for a VIP changing room, but there were no models in sight. The room was completely empty aside from a single figure sitting in the corner, sipping champagne.
"Long time, Braelyn..." he chimed upon recognising me. A soft smile crossed his lips. "You took long enough," he added, staring at me with genuine curiosity.
"It’s been a while indeed, Adrien." I smiled, tossing the load of what I could barely call clothes onto a random seat. "I had to shake off the bodyguards and make it believable that I was shopping," I explained.
The man across the room bore a striking resemblance to Genny. The same nose and eyes, with the same dramatic aura. Adrien Moreau, Genny’s baby brother.
He placed the glass down, then tossed a bag to me. "It is better you change and also get rid of your phone. It is almost 6 pm." He didn’t explain further.
I grabbed the bag. "My phone is with the bodyguards," I explained. It was still in my handbag, which Jeremy was holding. I had deliberately left it with him.
"That’s better," Adrien answered.
Not wasting another second, I picked up the bag and walked into the inner changing room. A few minutes later, I stepped out wearing a different outfit. I was dressed like a hijabi, with thick shades covering my eyes. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
By the time I stepped out, Adrien was already standing. He was checking something on his phone.
"I am done," I announced.
He nodded. "We will use a separate exit. No need to worry about cameras. There are none here," he explained quickly, walking through another door. I followed him. We did not walk down the corridor I had entered through, but through a different exit.
The door led to another corridor. At the end of it was a door that opened into a stairwell. My heart raced the entire time, hoping Jeremy wouldn’t notice anything wrong.
Adrien moved like he knew exactly where he was heading. After rushing down several flights of stairs, we finally reached the bottom. By this point, I was drenched in sweat and panting, but Adrien had not even broken a sweat.
He unlocked the final door, and we stepped into a small basement car park used by the mall suppliers.
"This way," he instructed, leading me to a car that was already waiting. A small Toyota Corolla, with a driver inside. We deliberately avoided a tinted vehicle to prevent suspicion.
I got into the back seat while Adrien took the passenger seat. The driver pressed the accelerator and drove out of the basement, leaving the mall through the back gates used by suppliers.
No one would sense anything wrong, because this same car had come in through the back gates earlier to supply handcrafted oil perfumes, with exactly three passengers, including a lady dressed in the same outfit as me.
Since he wasn’t going to divorce me, I was going to disappear with a ridiculous amount of money.
