Craved by the Wrong Volkov-Chapter 210: Genny’s secret part 4
Braelyn’s POV
I choked on the drink, coughing it up. How in the bloody hell did that happen? Genny immediately burst into laughter like she was expecting this type of reaction from me.
Alora, puzzled, turned around to watch me with large blue eyes. "Mummy, is she okay?" She asked. Genny, who was busy laughing, was too busy to answer. She grabbed her stomach and continued to laugh.
"You actually choked." Genny laughed harder holding her stomach. Her hand was pointing at me, who was having a health emergency, choking on hot chocolate because of what she just told me.
Alora stood up, abandoning the TV, and continued staring at us. I grabbed the pillow beside me and hurled it at Genny.
"Can you stop laughing?" I hissed at her. Genny caught the pillow and continued laughing anyway.
"Sorry, I can’t help it. Your face was priceless at that moment," she laughed, falling on her back on the couch. I glared at her, then turned to the confused Alora, who was trying to figure out what was happening.
"Alora, don’t learn from your mummy. She is a bad influence. " I told her. Alora nodded, probably even more confused by the word bad influence. Her 5-year-old vocabulary probably didn’t know what it meant.
"Is mummy okay? She looks funny." She carefully asks. Genny glanced at her child still trying to control her laugh.
"Wasn’t she funny earlier?" She asked, pointing her finger at my nose. This ....ugh. Why did I still talk to this girl? I was exasperated.
Alora shook her head. "I don’t know," she said innocently, then sat down on the rug facing the TV to watch her cartoon like nothing had happened earlier.
Tsk, Genny clicked her tongue. "She is no fun just like her father." She sneered. I rolled my eyes.
"You are talking about the man you were so smitten by that you jumped into his drunk bed, completely aware of what you were doing, and got disappointed when he disappeared without a word." I dramatically said, like I was narrating a tale of star-struck lovers.
Genny grabbed the throw pillow at her side and lunged to attack. "Stop talking like that." She hissed. "Don’t remind me of my dumb mistakes," she attacked with a pillow.
Of course, I wasn’t going to take the act without defence. I grabbed my pillow and defended against her. "I guess he was devastatingly handsome. Your ovaries surrender after one try. " I laughed.
Genny’s face turned red. "That’s not it. He was handsome. Ugh." She jumped on me trying to shut me with her pillow. "Just shut up Brae." I struck her, stopping her.
"Then what is it? His little brother was too big and he was just that good in bed."
Genny went completely red.
"Braelyn stop!!!" She screamed completely flustered. We got into a full pillow fight that even Alora was tempted to join. The traitor sided with her mother, and it was a 2 V 1 match.
I was surrounded but I wasn’t shy of a fight. "I will never. That’s my revenge for hiding this from me." I swore. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Genny’s lips curled. "Alora, attack from behind. I would take the front," Genny instructed her little soldier. Alora giggled and followed her mummy’s instructions.
The battle continued from the couch we found ourselves on the rug, where it reached its peak. I was surrounded by a tall lady and a cute mini human. I couldn’t find the place in my heart to hit, but she was vicious. In the end, I had to give them the white flag.
I had to live to fight another day. "I surrender, please have mercy," I screamed, already being forced to the floor and suffering the barrage of hits.
Genny accepted my submissions, and we all ended up laughing on the floor. My heart felt so light listening to Alora laugh, completely worry-free. She was going to be stunning one day.
It was a good idea coming over here tonight

A few hours went by, and we didn’t continue the story because we had to have dinner before it got too late and put Alora to bed.
I wasn’t a chef, but Genny was an excellent cook, at least. She prepared dinner for three while Alora helped. I wasn’t allowed to touch a thing. Genny had the guts to expose my secret to Alora..
Her godmother couldn’t cook to save herself. Even little Alora was a little helper while I was labelled useless. It was nice watching them together even though they were both roasting me
We had dinner in the kitchen while I tried my best not to glance at Genny’s sink because of the memories it reminded me of
What was Lucien doing in my head? I was flushed.
The sink reminded me of the time we almost did it there on my birthday.
"Let me help with the dishes. " I had suggested after learning her dishwasher was still broken, she had ordered a new one, but it had yet to arrive..
"There is no need. Last time you broke my precious plates." She literally shoved me out of the chicken. I wanted to defend myself, it wasn’t my fault, and it was Lucien who was seducing me that night, but I swallowed the words.
Genny helped Alora shower, brush her teeth and get ready for bed while I was showering. She was really into the mother role despite spending a little time with Alora.
Later that night, after she showered. We both had masks on and were dressed in pj’s on her bed. It felt like we were teenagers again having a sleepover party
The night light was on, the room had a cosy vibe as we both hugged pillows, staring at each other with mischievous smiles.
"You are such a traitor, telling Alora I can’t cook and even using her in a pillow fight." I accused her half laughing
She chuckled then said as a matter of fact," But you can’t even peel an orange, Braelyn, let alone cook. You were Daddy’s little princess. " She sneered, and a small smile curled on my lips.
"Yeah. I kind of miss my dad." I said unexpectedly. He wasn’t perfect, but Dominic loved me with all his heart.
Genny went silent for a moment. "Your old man was fun compared to mine," she fell back on the bed.
"All he ever does is complain and complain. Genenieve, when will you get serious with your life? Photography is just a hobby ..." she started to rant, mimicking her father.
"You are old enough for marriage now, Genenieve..at least if you aren’t going to support the family business, marry a man who can..."
"Just find someone, Genenieve, as long as they accept Alora, there are plenty of good men out there."
.
I sighed. "It seems like you have your hands full."
Genenieve rolled her eyes. "My dad just loves to nag. I hope his attitude doesn’t rub off on Alora since she spends a lot of time with her." Her father had recently retired from the company.
Genenieve’s brothers were the ones handling stuff, since Genny had no intentions of handling business, and besides, her brothers were pretty talented.
"He worries because he cares. That’s what families are for." I said in a tender voice..
"I know," Genny uttered. "Tonight was fun, especially the pillow fight, it interrupted me, and I didn’t finish my tale," she said, and my curiosity piqued again.
