Cosmic Paragon-Chapter 87: The Wolff Brother’s Coordination
Chapter 87: Chapter 87: The Wolff Brother’s Coordination
Boss! They all jumped when they saw that it was Drake that had walked in.
There you are! Paul exclaimed.
We came here to find you as soon as training ended. Peter grinned.
This surprised Drake, The training has ended? Already? He had expected that Commander Seth would have gone back to training them after their conversation. After all this was a task of training students for a competition, it shouldn’t end so soon right.
Paul nodded, Yep for today at least. We’ll continue first thing tomorrow.
Oh that’s good. So how did it go? Drake finally nodded.
Ugh, don’t get me started it was absolutely horrible. Sunday groaned.
Tuesday started explaining, As soon as you left, the Commander immediately began the training. He activated the doubled gravity and made us run fifty laps around the gravity chamber. Then he made us do all kinds of basic workouts.
Push-ups, sit-ups, squats, heavy weight lifting.... you name it. Friday counted off a few of the things they had to go through.
Drake rolled his eyes at how lazy these guys must be to be complaining over this, That doesn’t sound all that hard apart from the added gravity. I mean you guys are mages for heavens sake, you can’t tell me that just by doing just a few workouts burned you guys out this much.
You’re only saying that because you don’t know the other half of it. Peter grimaced.
And Paul said, He made us go through all that, then gave a rule that under no condition is anybody allowed to use their magic power.
Peter suddenly jumped like a cat that had its tail stepped on. He shouted, Do you have any idea what it feels like doing all these things while going against two times regular gravity. It’s practically self-mortification.
The pressure that your internal organs have to endure alone is enough torture. Sunday was almost tearing up.
Drake couldn’t help but laugh a little. It was quite funny seeing them like that, but then he also felt sorry for them.
However, he understood something. That it is this suffering they must go through if they want to get stronger.
Drake patted Sundays shoulder and encouraged, Alright, suck it up this little bit of training is just the tip of the iceberg if you all want to get stronger then you have to bear through it. It will all come in handy when you meet your opponents on the battlefield. So do your best I’m rooting for you.
The twins and the Wolff Brothers all nodded and Peter called out, Alright! You heard him boys. The Boss is cheering for us so we have to do our best; both for us and so we don’t disappoint the Boss.
Yeah!
We’ll do our best!
We’ll win!
Everybody’s emotions were all rearing to go.
As he watched them Drake was happy in his heart. And when he thought about the kind of training they were going through he couldn’t help but clench his fists.
’Don’t worry you guy’s I will also keep getting stronger.’ he thought.
Peter saw Drake clenching his fist with his head lowered and thought maybe Drake was feeling upset because he had been kicked off the team.
After all, while he had said that he did not care for the Grand mage tournament. Anyone would still be upset if they were kicked out like that.
He said, You okay Boss?
Drake was startled by the sudden question.
Peter continued. You know apart from all that happened to us, we also all gathered here because we wanted to checkup on you and you know; see how you were doing after everything that happened.
The others also looked worriedly at Drake.
Drake smiled. He felt warm in his heart that they were so worried about him. He assured them,Don’t worry I feel great. I’m serious so stop worrying alright? You are not allowed to bring this kind of question up again.
They nodded, Okay. You’re the Boss.
Then they fell silent, but they still felt a bit bad since they wanted to do something to help cheer him up.
Drake seemed to understand what they were thinking and suddenly had an idea. You know, there is something you could do to make me feel better. He said.
The twins and the Wolff Brothers eyes instantly lit up.
...
Drake stood in the open field of the battle stage in the Elite training grounds. The Wolff Brothers stood directly opposite him dressed in battle attire.
This was the stage inside the Gravity chamber that they had been training in earlier. Right now Drake and the Wolff Brothers were about to do some sparring.
Boss are you sure you want to spar with all of us at once? You realize it’ll be seven against one right?
Who do you think you’re talking to here? I’ll tell you what; if I can’t even take you then I will be the one to call you boss instead. Drake did some stretches and jumped a few times in place.
The eyes of the Wolff Brothers lit up with excitement at the thought of being called Boss and they snickered. Hehe, be careful then Boss, we won’t hold back.
Drake stopped his warm ups and a smirk crept onto his face.
Come!
Like arrows shot from a loosened bowstring the Wolff Brothers shot forward at Drake.
Drake calmly watched them as they charged at him. Keeping his eyes locked on to every inch, every move, and every detail about his opponents.
He was completely focused on them.
They moved in a zigzag like pattern to confuse his vision. And this tactic would have worked on any other person considering the Wolff Brothers looked exactly alike.
But Drake was not confused. Thanks to his training with Queen he would not be confused by this tactic. He was perfectly aware of everybody’s position and movements.
They had been standing about thirty meters apart, but the distance was quickly closed.
Monday was the first to arrive and he threw a punch straight at Drake’s face. Drake’s eyes captured everything and he leaned slightly to the left allowing the punch to pass beside him. But just as Drake was raising his left hand to attack Monday, Wednesday arrived also throwing a punch this time at Drake’s side.
This attack had been thrown to hit Drake if he had moved a bit more to the left while avoiding Mondays attack but since Drake had only moved slightly Wednesday had adjusted his attack to keep Drake from attacking his brother. It worked.
Drake’s left palm rose to intercept the incoming fist, brushing it out to the side then he brought his open left palm aiming for the face of Wednesday. At the same time he clenched his right fist and brought it up in a punch that would hit Monday in the chest.
However, just as he did this, Drake discovered that Sunday had jumped and was about to deliver a drop kick with both his feet to Drake’s head. Drake leaned back his torso. At the same time his feet pushed off the ground as Saturday who had arrived behind him had thrown a weeping kick to his feet below. Now Drake was suspended midair he was completely parallel to the ground.
Their coordination was perfect; their timing was superb they provided no opportunity for Drake to successfully land an attack on any of them. Instead in just the first exchange they had put Drake on the defensive.
Drake had pulled both his hands back and the two; Monday and Wednesday passed beside to safety with no problems. Sunday passed over him and landed behind him, he was clear. Saturday was also clear.
In the corners of his eyes Drake caught Tuesday and Thursday swinging spinning kicks from both sides. As for Friday, Drake could see he had stopped and was watching but he was ready to charge in at a moments notice.
Drake muttered, These guys, they’ve done this before.
He could do a flip and land on his feet, but if he did that, his head would be positioned exactly at the spot where the two Brothers spinning kicks were aimed at. At that moment, even if he used his hands to cover his head, the force from the kick would leave him in disarray which would only put him in more danger.
Also if Drake really did take those kicks to the head, he would really lose too much face. As it would mean the Wolff Brothers got him.
From the first move, Drake had fallen into their trap; he was in a completely helpless position. He could not evade mid air and could only take their attacks.
Drake’s lips curled and he twisted his torso. This allowed his whole body to spin mid air and he kicked out with both legs.
His feet came into contact with Thursday and Tuesday’s legs as they gave their spinning kicks.
When his feet collided with their legs, Drake borrowed the force of their kicks and his body flew out several meters away. He did a back flip and landed solid on his feet.
Silence!
The audience and the Wolff Brothers were dumbfounded by how easily Drake had gotten out of that situation.
The Wolff Brothers were especially surprised that their coordinated assault had been so easily neutralized. It was unbelievable.
