Cosmic Paragon-Chapter 83: Kicked out
Chapter 83: Chapter 83: Kicked out
You think you are worth anything just because you were chosen? Rubbish! Alpha Academy is not what it used to be; now Alpha academy is weak. They are just a group of greenhouse flowers for the picking. That is what the outside world says about you. That is what they say about Alpha Academy.
And they are right! Why? Its because you are weak. All of you, I won’t lie to you to make you feel good about yourself because it is true. Alpha academy use to be the greatest Academy in the empire but now we can’t even get a single position among the top ten in the Elite class. Don’t you feel ashamed?
If you want to brag, then train like your life depends on it and win the tournament. At that time you won’t need to say a word, but the whole empire will have Alpha Academy’s name, your name on their lips.
Now all of you will work as a team until the tournament is over. I will not tolerate anyone breaking my rules. Am I understood? Seth leveled his sharp glare on Bridge causing him to retreat.
Sir I have a complaint. If we will be training for the tournament then I believe the ones among us with weaker cultivation should be removed, so they don’t drag us down with them. Edward suddenly stepped forward.
Drake and his people knew something was about to go wrong.
Someone like this Drake for example. Edward pointed at Drake. He should not be here. So before we start officially, I demand he be dismissed.
You...
He has only just advanced to 2 Sear mage level. Our opponents during the Grand mage Tournament will either be 3 Star mages or powerful 2 Star mages. If we go up with a rookie among us, I doubt he will be useful. Instead he will only drag us down with him.
Commander Seth frowned.
I will not tolerate anything breaking the coherence of my team. If you have a personal grudge you can settle it amongst yourselves but you will not cause disunity among my team. Both of you are dismissed.
What!?
What!?
Drake was surprised that he was getting kicked out even before he could do anything.
Edward was not expecting that just as he was trying to get rid of Drake, he would also get himself kicked off the team as well.
Objection!
Sir, this isn’t right.
The twins and the Wolff Brothers along with Drakes entire group immediately protested. There was no way they could let this happen.
Silence all of you my decision is final. I will not permit discord in my team, and I don’t mind dismissing all of you if you continue breaking my rules.
Then I won’t be participating either.
Yeah me too, none of us will be participating in this farce if Boss has to be kicked out just because of some idiot.
That’s right this is simply bullshit!
That’s enough all of you shut up. Drake hastily stopped them before they could say anything else. What do you think you are doing? This is your chance.
But boss, what about you, why do you have to face this injustice.
You guys don’t understand the Commanders thought process. This isn’t injustice; it’s actually the best thing.
Look me and that idiot have enmity between us that means we are bound to have disagreements which is bad for the team. At the end of the day, if he forms a faction and comes against me you guys will also stand with me, but this will destroy the cohesion of the team. However, now that we both aren’t on the team our grudge will not affect the rest of the team. It might be a bit cruel but it’s the best course of action.
Drake was smart, he saw right through the intent of the Commanders decision. If only Edward was dismissed, while nobody would be able to refute, it would cause dissatisfaction in the hearts of the members of the Empyreans. And this dissatisfaction would end up growing and affecting the unity of the team. This would later lead to splitting into factions which would cause controversy during times of important decisions, and even conflict down the line.
If this wasn’t handled the right way, then the team would fall apart long before they could even participate in the Grand mage Tournament,
But this way, Commander Seth had nipped the problem in the bud. At least this way, it had only cost him two 2 Star mages, rather than losing the entire team and the tournament altogether.
Peter asked, But boss what about you?
Don’t worry about me. I don’t really need this tournament for anything and my absence won’t change a thing. Besides, you heard the Commander; you guys are the most promising of all the Elementary mage class. If you don’t participate then even if they put someone else there to do it, Alpha Academy will probably lose.
At that point not only will Alpha Academy lose face. We all of us, will also lose face since the Academy’s glory is our glory and its shame is our shame
They were reluctant to accept it at first, but with Drake’s persuasion they finally stopped. Sophia wanted to try to do something about this verdict to try and change this, but Drake seemed to have understood what she was thinking and shook his head at her.
Seth was surprised that Drake understood so much. With just seconds thought he had deciphered the whole reason behind the decision. Another person would have been throwing a tantrum, but Drake did no such thing. Instead he was more mature about it.
Even though he did not display it, Seth couldn’t help but feel some admiration for Drake in his heart, at how much he considered the bigger picture.
Logan had some admiration in his eyes. He knew if it were him, he would not have been able to decipher the intent behind the judgment, and so decisively leave if it were him at that age.
Drake nodded at the Commander then turned to leave the training grounds.
But Edward was still throwing protests that he shouldn’t be dismissed since what he had done he did because he was only looking out for the teams best interest.
His attitude completely infuriated all of Drake’s friends, and they would have charged at him with arms if not for the fact that they were trying to restrain themselves. Seth was also very displeased.
Logan directly stepped forward and used his massive hands to grab Edwards face then threw him out the door.
Drake stepped out of the door and saw Edward who was now haggard trying to get back up to his feet. The sight was quite funny so even though Drake was irritated in his heart he couldn’t hold back a chuckle.
Edward knew he was at a loss with his current appearance so to try and win a jab for himself he sneered at Drake.
Humph, dont you worry Drake, I may have lost my spot on the team but you also can forget about yours.
Drake simply quietly stared at him for a few seconds, then he turned around and as he was leaving his voice rang out, Does your face hurt.
Edwards face immediately blackened and his vision turned dark. He had fainted.
When Logan had thrown him, he had used some magic power to seal of Edwards cultivation, then he had thrown him with enough strength to cause quite a bit of injury.
Now he had been made so angry by Drake’s statement that blood directly rushed to his head and he lost consciousness.
...
Drake arrived at his dorm and sat in his bed. It was his free day so he was free since he did not have to go to any classes today.
HAH! It doesn’t really matter I guess. Drake sighed.
To be perfectly honest, Drake didn’t really care about the Grand mage Tournament, but he would be lying if he said he was not annoyed that he had lost his quota just because of some idiot.
The way things stand I have enough on my hands already. I’ve only just advanced to 2 Star mage level, if I have time to be moping around like this I might as well spend that time cultivating or trying to master control over my power.
Once he had that thought back on his mind, he quickly sat up and began immersing himself into the world of his cultivation.
Back in the Fallen city, he didn’t dare to completely immerse himself into cultivation to his full potential. But he did not have to worry about any external factors now that he was cultivating in the safety of his room.
Nowhere was more private and safe as his own territory, and with the Wolff Brothers and the rest of his friends being occupied by the special training for the Grand mage tournament, no one would come looking for him.
As his mind dived into the world behind his seal, Drake was once again welcomed by the sight of the Sea of stars that was formed completely out of magic energy.
With just a thought he arrived before the resplendent Virgo Constellation.
I don’t need to practice control anymore with the magic energy from the Libra Constellation since I’ve fully mastered control over the magic energy that forms the stars forming the constellation. But my control over magic power from the Virgo constellation is really lacking since I only control the energy at the stars cores and not the full stars. Drake mumbled and got to work on practicing his control with this energy.
He did his slow training with the energy not letting himself slack off or to be bored.
One wisp of energy, two wisps, three, four...
The more he drew on the more he practiced his mastery, the more his control and flexibility improved. But he suddenly found himself being pleasantly surprised before long.
For some reason he noticed that it was very easy mastering his control over the energy of the Stars than it should have been when compared to how hard it had been when he had been practicing with the Libra constellation.
At first he had attributed it to the fact that he had more experience more this time, but he was soon shocked when he realized that he had full control over about five percent of the energy of the stars that formed the whole Virgo Constellation. And his control was still not lagging yet.
He continued testing and was absolutely dumbfounded when he realized that, it was only after he had reached ten percent of all the stars that he finally started having issues and was now straining to control the magic energy.
How is this happening? Since when did I gain this much control?
