Contract Marriage: Let's Make It Real, Mrs. Sterling!-Chapter 277 - 276: Mia Sutton Chose Vocal Music
When Mia Sutton returned, it was very late. On her way upstairs, she ran into Nolan Sinclair.
Seeing Nolan Sinclair, Mia halted her steps and respectfully greeted him, "Senior Nolan."
As she spoke, Nolan also gave Mia a glance. Seeing what she was wearing, he could tell she had just been out.
After a moment, he nodded slightly and replied with a "Hmm."
Just as Mia was about to pass by him and head to her room, she suddenly heard him say from behind, "There’s recording tomorrow. It’s better to go to bed early."
When Mia turned around to speak, all that was left was the back of Nolan Sinclair.
...
The next day, the program officially started filming. As mentioned earlier, aside from the stage performances that were live-streamed, other parts were recorded.
Because she returned late last night and slept late, it was already quite an accomplishment for Mia to wake up with just her willpower to the alarm. Makeup was out of the question.
After washing up and clearing her mind, she simply applied some lipstick and headed to the recording location.
The group formations were now finalized, with Nolan Sinclair leading six people and Heather Holloway leading another six.
Within each team, they were further divided into groups of three, forming two sub-groups.
The program’s arrangement after the team division was to have two vocal groups and two dance groups engage in head-to-head matches. There would be two rounds, and after two episodes, the bottom three would be eliminated.
In the practice room, all the equipment was set up, waiting for the mentors and artists to arrive and begin recording.
Mia initially thought she was quite late since it was almost 7:30. However, upon pushing the door open, she found only some large cameras and a few people by them.
Mia: "..."
Half of her foot, which had just stepped in, silently retreated. What was going on? Had she gone to the wrong place?
Staring blankly, she looked up at the sign above the door.
No mistake, so... where was everyone?
Someone in the room, seeing that someone finally arrived, watched the girl’s foot step in momentarily before pulling back.
Photographer: "..." From her expression, one could pretty much guess what was going on.
"Ms. Sutton, you’re not in the wrong place." The photographer’s tone was somewhat helpless.
It was perhaps because it was the first day of recording, and everyone spent time doing their makeup after getting up, plus there was still some time before the official start of the recording.
Mia had developed the habit during her time with the talent show crew, treating this program similarly, not expecting... that she arrived early this time.
The photographer looked at the girl from a distance, dressed in her casual clothes, with her hair tied up high, exuding vigor.
On her face, besides a bit of lipstick, she was entirely bare-faced, with no BB cream, bare face cream, or foundation.
Her skin was excellent, much like a peeled egg, capable of withstanding close-up shots, adding a transcendent quality to her look without the usual stage makeup.
Mia, upon hearing the staff calling her in, dragged her somewhat heavy feet inside.
It wasn’t that everyone else was doing makeup and she wasn’t; she just suddenly missed her bed.
Had she known everyone was doing makeup, wouldn’t it have been better to sleep a bit longer? Because, getting up even a minute earlier in the morning makes a huge difference.
Just as Mia sat down, Lynn Joyner pushed the door open and walked in, nearly bare-faced as well.
Mia: "..." Two people with post-talent show trauma.
Once Lynn arrived, Mia felt less bored. They chatted casually for a while, and soon, others began to arrive. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
After arriving, Nolan Sinclair announced the songs for this session, one vocal piece and one dance piece, letting his six members choose based on their preferences.
In Nolan’s group, most were more adept at dancing—only two were focused on vocals.
Four were mainly dancers, one male, and three females.
Although those invited were all competent, everyone had their own areas of strength.
One girl was very conflicted because, among the four main dancers, she ranked weakest. Hence, she might not be able to make it into the dance section.
However, she was even less familiar with vocals. After a long deliberation, she looked up and asked hesitantly, "How should we divide the groups...?"
...
Nolan Sinclair didn’t interfere with their grouping. After a while, the grouping list was submitted to him.
Upon flipping through, there was a slight pause when Nolan Sinclair’s fingertips came across a certain name.
Mia Sutton chose... vocals?
After thinking for a moment, Nolan Sinclair roughly understood.
During the talent show, Mia’s dancing was exceptional, performing almost flawlessly on every stage.
However, her dance talent was so remarkable that it overshadowed her vocal abilities for most viewers.
She hardly ever chose pure singing stages, often opting for dance and vocal numbers, making people subconsciously believe that Mia only excelled in dance—but that wasn’t entirely true.
That Mia choosing vocals surprised others because with her dance skills, success in the dance section seemed certain, but she chose vocals.
In fact, Mia just really liked that song, which had a folk music style.
This kind of music often has a way of touching the heart with its slow rhythm, making people want to immerse in it.
...
After the selection, they started regular practice. During singing practice, the other two in their group were genuinely surprised, as was Nolan Sinclair.
Because Mia’s musical intuition was as sharp as her dance instincts, her voice had a unique quality, very recognizable.
Nolan Sinclair had adapted this song, adding some other elements, specifically for Mia.
No one objected because the result would enhance their stage performance. They were well aware that they were in this together, like grasshoppers on the same string.
Anything to make the stage better was welcomed, and the added segment was indeed stunning.
Practice time flew by, and in the blink of an eye, several days passed. The daily highlights captured by the program crew were now edited and released, receiving positive feedback online.
People were eagerly urging for the live broadcast to start, claiming to have saved money with no place to spend it.
