Contract Marriage: Let's Make It Real, Mrs. Sterling!-Chapter 258: An Open and Honest Kiss
The filming site was very quiet, with several cameras filming from different angles, directly zooming in, capturing close-ups.
The woman’s features were magnified on the camera, exquisite and cold. The lens slowly moved down to the Jade Pendant hanging at her waist, giving it a close-up, then switched to a different shot.
Everyone around was watching intently.
This scene was one of the most populated ones since filming began, with numerous extras playing lesser deities, kneeling densely below, their loud cries ceasing as Stacy appeared. They lifted their heads, their gazes fixated on the woman.
Not only those people, but even the deities in front, including a group from the demon realm, all directed their gazes to the graceful figure at the great hall’s entrance.
They hadn’t seen Stacy for a long time. Since the fall of the ancient Demon Lord, Stacy had been revered as the Goddess of the three realms, residing in the Goddess Hall, rumored to be devoted to cultivation, exiting the hall once every few centuries.
So it had been a full three hundred years since they last saw her.
The people who were shouting loudly just moments ago were now completely silent. After all, no one knew how powerful Stacy had become, and apart from her cool demeanor, they knew nothing about her.
Hence, they dared not act rashly, fearing her anger would lead to a massacre. Although she’s now the Goddess of the Divine Realm, she did grow up alongside the ancient Demon Lord, with half-demon blood in her veins.
Thus, they were truly uncertain.
The two groups were in a standoff at the hall entrance for a long time.
On the steps, Stacy suddenly lowered her eyes with a soft laugh, her voice still crisp, but devoid of emotion.
"You’ve been making a fuss for so long, and now you’re silent?"
The Divine Realm crowd exchanged glances, and finally, a woman stepped forward and slowly said, "Goddess, we disturb you, but it is truly out of necessity."
"You must be aware of the Chaotic Power’s reappearance. The Demon Lord initially sealed it, but as time has passed, it has broken the seal. We need someone with divine and demon blood to help us combat the Chaotic Power."
"We sincerely hope the Goddess can lend us a hand."
The woman on the steps listened and gave a slight smile, then lifted her gaze and said indifferently, "Why should I help you?"
The crowd below was rendered speechless. Stacy gently flicked her sleeve, coldly saying, "If you have no further business, I hope you can leave quickly. I prefer peace and quiet."
Having said that, she turned back to her palace, the great hall doors slowly closing with a heavy sound.
The people below immediately started murmuring, everyone blaming Stacy for her indifference. This concerned the three realms, yet she stood idly by.
...
The director, holding a communicator, kept his eyes on the screen: "Cut!"
With this word, the orderly set dissolved immediately, as extras went off to find their resting places, while the leads came down to watch the playback of their scene on the monitor.
The director watched for a while, then broke into a smile: "Very good, this take is approved."
"Melody, well done, keep up the good work."
The director looked up and spoke to Mia Sutton. She also finished watching her part and was quite satisfied.
"Alright, let’s change the set and continue with the next scene."
"You two, come over, we’re starting right away," the director said to Jensen Sterling and Mia Sutton.
What was just shot was the exterior of the hall; the next part to film was between Mia Sutton and Jensen Sterling, namely the scenes between Stacy and Julian Ford.
After the director’s words, he began directing the reset of the location, moving the equipment inside the hall for shooting.
...
Inside the palace, Stacy sat alone on a chair in the great hall, eyes closed, as if she had fallen asleep.
In her dream, she returned to the time in the demon realm when Julian Ford was still there, and Stacy wore a brighter smile.
Later, Julian Ford disappeared, and with the disappearance of the seal on the Chaotic Power, she suffered, she despaired, yet there was nothing she could do about it all.
The woman’s lovely brows were tightly knitted, and beside her appeared a man, standing there, tall and dressed in dark robes, embroidered with intricate patterns.
Though his presence should have inspired fear and dread, when he lowered his head, his eyes were filled with gentle warmth, as though carrying endless tenderness.
He stood quietly, then reached out and gently caressed her furrowed brow.
Softly murmuring, "Stacy, you’re unhappy."
"Don’t mind the words of others; you are just you, be happier, alright?"
The person dozing on the chair seemed to sense his presence. Her tense brows slightly relaxed.
She slept peacefully.
Seeing this, she moved her head slightly, perhaps instinctively snuggling into the man’s hand.
...
Logically, this scene should have ended here, but Jensen Sterling didn’t stop. The director, seeing this, held back the urge to call out, watching the screen instead.
The man lifted his hand, gently arranging her hanging hair, then leaned down to place a kiss on her forehead.
Mia Sutton was startled; that wasn’t in the script, but since the director didn’t stop, she went on acting.
The feel on her forehead was vivid, Jensen’s lips slightly cool, and as the kiss touched her forehead, it carried a chill.
Though cold, Mia felt her forehead seemed to catch fire, a strange warmth spreading.
It was as if time stilled at that moment, each second passing seemed exceptionally slow, unable to ignore the sensation on her forehead.
She didn’t know how long it lasted, maybe ages, or perhaps just seconds, but the man’s lips finally lifted off the lead’s forehead.
He touched the spot his lips had just left, lightly pressing it, as if marking it, his gaze turning deep and profound.
Director: "Alright, cut!"
As soon as the director called out, Mia Sutton opened her eyes, a hint of surprise in her gaze.
Had she just been kissed unexpectedly?
Reflexively, she touched her forehead where she’d been kissed.
Strangely, she didn’t seem to mind...
Was it because they were acting?
The director approached, asking Jensen Sterling, "Did you improvise just now?"
Jensen acknowledged with a hum, then turned to Mia Sutton, "Where’s your bag?"
Mia’s hand, which had been tensing her forehead, dropped immediately, her face instantly serious, like she’d been caught doing something wrong.
She quickly replied, "Over there, I’ll fetch it in a moment."
Then swiftly moved to retrieve her bag.
The director was puzzled, wondering why Jensen Sterling needed Mia Sutton’s bag when discussing a scene change.
The very next moment, the man opened Mia Sutton’s bag and pulled out his script.
