Contract Marriage: Abusive Love with Mr.CEO-Chapter 552 - 289: The Showdown Between Howard Geoffrey and Chester Robinson
Howard Geoffrey sat behind the desk, lost in his thoughts.
Roye stood silently by, waiting for Howard to speak.
After a few seconds of contemplation, Howard spoke, "Chester Robinson probably hasn’t visited his ’mother’ for a long time."
Roye asked, puzzled, "Boss, what do you mean?"
"If the esteemed ’mother’ has any issues in prison, his attention might be diverted to first handling his ’mother’s’ matters."
Roye suddenly realized, "I understand now, Boss, you want to use ’M’ to divert Chester’s attention, so he’ll temporarily have no time to deal with Alice’s affairs... Boss, you’re brilliant."
"No, that’s not enough... With Chester’s cunning, while dealing with his ’mother’s’ matters, he wouldn’t neglect to handle Alice’s affairs."
Roye’s smile, which had just appeared, immediately froze, sighing, "Then what should we do?"
The Boss must be really troubled!
On one hand, he has to handle Chester’s suspicions, ensuring everything is foolproof, which is very difficult, after all, Chester isn’t an ordinary person. On the other hand, the Boss has to consider how to handle his relationship with Miss Quentin afterward. After all, it’s absolutely impossible to bring Miss Quentin back to his side now, the plan has gone so smoothly, it’s impossible to just let it go up in smoke.
The situation has become very severe, the Boss must find a solution tonight.
Howard pondered, "I’ll think these things through... By the way, did you talk to my brother on the phone?"
Roye nodded, "Mr. Jones said he would handle it."
"Hmm."
The night is nearing its end.
Rebecca Quentin, who had slept uneasily all night, opened her eyes and stared at Howard’s sleeping face in the hazy dawn light. His usually tense and indifferent lines were relaxed, and sleeping, he was like an innocent big boy.
She felt that all the bad things had passed, her mood relaxed, and she fell asleep leaning against his warm chest from exhaustion.
When she opened her eyes again, the day was already bright, but Howard was nowhere to be seen!
She threw on her robe, hurriedly got out of bed, and quickly looked for his briefcase...
Fortunately, all his belongings were still there.
Relieved, she immediately went to find him.
The suite’s bathroom, study, living room, she searched everywhere, but couldn’t find him.
Finally, as her steps inadvertently passed by the kitchen, the aroma of cooked food wafted into her nose.
Rebecca instinctively followed the scent to the kitchen...
Rebecca never imagined she would find Howard in the kitchen.
At this moment, he was rolling up his sleeves, wearing a childish apron with cartoon patterns provided by the hotel, busy at the stove, unaware of her presence.
Rebecca leaned against the door frame, watching the scene in disbelief.
He was cooking, he was actually cooking...
She never knew he was someone who could cook. In her impression, he has always been superior, noble, time is money, where would he spend it on such trivial matters.
Yet, what she smelled at this moment was undeniably the delicious aroma of steak...
She quietly moved toward Howard and, while he was unaware, hugged him suddenly, "Good morning..."
Howard put down the dish in his hand, gave Rebecca a peck on the cheek, "Good morning, sleepyhead."
Rebecca frowned, "Hey, I appeared suddenly, how come you weren’t the least bit surprised?"
Howard supported Rebecca, smiling, "You’ve been peeking at the door for quite a while, you think no one would notice?"
Rebecca grumbled, "So you saw me all along..." It’s really no fun at all.
Howard smiled, "If I didn’t have at least this much alertness, I would have been killed a thousand times over by the enemies I encounter in business."
Rebecca chuckled, "So many people want to harm you, you really are a cunning businessman!"
Howard glared at Rebecca.
Rebecca quickly redirected her gaze to the two plates of cooked steak on the table, "Did you make this?"
Howard deliberately glanced around, "Do you see anyone else here?"
Rebecca shook her head vigorously, "Impossible, absolutely impossible, how could you make food to eat?"
Howard smiled, "During my school days, life was tough, if I didn’t cook for myself, I would’ve starved."
"I never saw you cooking before!"
"Just because you haven’t seen it, doesn’t mean I can’t."
"Howard, I’ve suddenly realized there’s still so much about you I don’t understand."
