Chapter 535: Chapter 280: Sister Chen in Trouble (Part 2)

"Becca..."

Rebecca Quentin resisted more, but Howard Geoffrey moved her restless hands from his chest and spoke with a tense voice, "Becca, I’m afraid I have to break my promise..."

"Bastard!" Unable to resist, Rebecca Quentin turned her face.

Paris, France.

At night, Chester Robinson sat alone in the outdoor garden outside his bedroom, the diffuse light casting on his pensive face, his eyes increasingly reflecting a deep intensity.

"Brother..."

A voice interrupted his thoughts.

Snapping back to reality, Chester Robinson saw that Alice Robinson was already sitting on his lap.

The faint scent of Chanel No. 5 wafted into Chester Robinson’s nose.

Alice’s hands encircled Chester’s neck, her bright eyes gazing at his distinguished and elegant face.

Today, Alice was dressed in a tight white dress that accentuated her excellent figure, enchanting and alluring, as beautiful and captivating as ever.

Alice coquettishly asked, "Why did you come back to the room right after dinner?"

Chester’s eyes deeply locked onto Alice’s, his lips slightly parted, "I’ve always been aloof."

Alice frowned, muttering, "But you haven’t really paid me much attention since you got back today, or talked to me much."

Chester cast a teasing glance at Alice’s slender and soft hands entwined around his neck, smiling faintly, "Since we’re siblings, we shouldn’t be this close."

Alice pouted, "I don’t care. Everyone at home knows we have a good relationship, besides, no one can see your balcony."

Chester leaned in close to Alice’s ear, slowly uttering, "Then why don’t you stay in my room with me tonight?"

Alice was startled upon hearing this, immediately releasing Chester, rising from his lap.

Chester looked at Alice’s reaction and sneered, "What, turned pale with fright?"

Alice lowered her head, seriously replied, "We already talked it all through, the past is as if it never happened, we’re just siblings."

Chester squinted, scrutinizing Alice playfully, "Then why did you come over?"

Alice raised her eyes to Chester, "I saw you weren’t talking much today, worried you had something on your mind, so I came to chat with you."

Chester’s gaze drifted far ahead, picking up a glass of red wine from the table, sipping gently, "What could be on my mind?"

Alice sat down opposite Chester, looked at his expressionless face with concern, "I heard your conversation with Dad today."

Chester remained expressionless.

Alice spoke softly, "I never thought Dad would leave seventy percent of the family fortune to me."

Chester remained silent.

Alice continued, "Dad always showed the same affection for you as he did for me, but I don’t know why he would make such a will..."

Chester finally replied, "You’re overthinking it. You’re his biological daughter, so it’s only natural he leaves it to you, I don’t mind."

"But Dad doesn’t know your identity, does he?"

Chester gave a casual smile, "I’m not your elder brother, yet I still get to take thirty percent of what’s yours, I should feel fortunate, shouldn’t I?"

"Brother... You know I don’t care about money at all, besides, now that I’m with Howard Geoffrey, I don’t have to worry about that."

Chester put down the wine glass, his tone still carefree, "Let’s not talk about that... Why don’t you tell me about you and Howard Geoffrey?"

Mentioning Howard Geoffrey, Alice’s face broke into a charming smile, "Howard and I are doing very well!"

Chester’s gaze on Alice was reserved, "Come closer."

"Huh?"

"Come over here."

Confused, Alice walked towards Chester.

Suddenly, Chester pulled, and Alice’s slender body quickly fell into his arms.

Back on Chester’s lap, Alice looked panic-stricken, like a startled bird, "What are you doing?"

Staring directly into Alice’s beautiful eyes, Chester slowly uttered, "I want to know if he’s touched you."

Alice immediately felt embarrassed and angry, "You... you idiot, I’ve been with him for so long. How could he not have touched me?"

Chester squinted, skeptical, "Really?"

"Of course it’s true!" Alice struggled to get up from Chester’s lap, but Chester’s grip on her hips was firm.

"Let go of me, let go!"

Chester abruptly released Alice.

Unsteady, Alice almost fell backward against the round table behind her, but luckily she grabbed onto Chester in time. Once off Chester’s lap, Alice muttered angrily, "What’s gotten into you?"

"Judging by your earlier reaction, it was clear you lied to me."

Having her lie exposed, Alice felt a mix of anger and shame, "You did it on purpose!" Purposely getting close to make her too anxious to answer rationally.

Chester smirked, "So, I guessed right?"

Alice walked out of the garden in a huff, "What happens between Howard Geoffrey and me is none of your business!"

Just a second before Alice stepped out of the garden, Chester’s light sneer rang out, "So you threw yourself at him recklessly, yet he shows no interest in you whatsoever? Is that how he shows his love?"

"Bastard!!"

Alice cursed, storming out of the garden.

After Alice left, a figure hidden in the shadows moved to stand behind Chester.

"Boss, don’t you believe what Miss Alice said?"

Chester half-squinted, a shrewd glint flashing, "Howard Geoffrey is able to let go of even generational hatred for Rebecca Quentin; such emotions are extraordinary."

Keith Antony was puzzled, "But if he truly loves Miss Quentin so much, why, when having the opportunity to be together, didn’t he keep her by his side?"

"That’s precisely what puzzles me."

"Boss, isn’t it possible you’re being overly cautious? During the incident in Y City, I listened in myself and heard Mr. Geoffrey rejecting Miss Quentin outright. She was really heartbroken then... But then again, if Mr. Geoffrey were to have a change of heart, he and Miss Alice couldn’t have been together so long without..." Keith Antony was tangled in thoughts too.

Chester suddenly smiled, "In all these years, I haven’t encountered such an enigmatic adversary, it has me rather looking forward to it."

Feigning a shiver, Keith Antony joked, "Boss, hearing you say that, I’m actually somewhat scared..."

"What’s there to be afraid of?"

"You said he’s unpredictable, meaning he’s unfathomable. If we were to lose, following the lady’s outcome, we might end up with no remains left."

Chester leisurely picked up the glass of red wine, sipping, smiling as he spoke, "Are you very scared?"

Keith Antony laughed again, "Following you, Boss, I’ve never been afraid."
