Contract Marriage: Abusive Love with Mr.CEO-Chapter 505 - 265: I Actually Care About You (Part 5)
"Mm."
"I’ll help you pack later, you should go to bed early."
"Okay."
New York, suburban Geoffrey family mansion.
"Madam, Mr. Geoffrey is back."
The servant announced at the door.
Mrs. Geoffrey, who was playing with Andrew in the hall, did not display her usual enthusiasm, merely responded with a "Mm" and continued teasing Andrew in her arms without even glancing toward the foyer.
Howard Geoffrey walked in from outside, handed his suit jacket and car keys to the servant, and then approached his mother and son.
Mrs. Geoffrey ignored Howard Geoffrey.
"Mom."
"Don’t call me. If you have time, stay longer in France. You don’t need to come back; things are fine here!"
Howard Geoffrey chuckled at his mother’s words, "Haven’t seen you this angry in a long time."
Mrs. Geoffrey shot Howard Geoffrey an annoyed glance, "You know I’m angry, huh?"
"Well, I’m here to cheer you up now!"
"I don’t need you to cheer me up. There is someone who wants cheering, but now even if you want to, you can’t get her back!"
Howard Geoffrey grinned, crouched down, "Andrew, come here, Daddy’s home..."
Andrew, sitting on the plush carpet playing with toys, swiftly raised his eyes that were like black grapes when he heard his father’s call.
Seeing his father, Andrew immediately dropped the toy in his hand, stood up shakily, "Daddy..."
Howard Geoffrey opened his arms, letting Andrew run over.
Mrs. Geoffrey followed Andrew cautiously, fearing he would fall.
Andrew accurately ran into Howard Geoffrey’s arms, wrapping his chubby little hands around Howard Geoffrey’s neck, sweetly murmuring, "Daddy..."
Howard Geoffrey picked Andrew up, kissed his youthful forehead. "Sweetie, have you been good and listened to Grandma?"
Andrew blinked his eyes, half understanding, half confused by what his father was saying. Suddenly, he uttered, "Mommy!"
Howard Geoffrey raised an eyebrow, somewhat incredulous.
Mrs. Geoffrey stepped forward, "Your son only spent a few days with Becca in Y City, and somehow remembered this term..."
"Good boy."
Howard Geoffrey affectionately kissed Andrew again on the cheek.
Mrs. Geoffrey sighed lightly, "They are truly mother and son; no matter how far or long apart, they are always connected."
Howard Geoffrey’s gaze remained fixed on Andrew’s innocent face, the usual arrogance and pride in his eyes was now replaced by the loving gaze of a father.
Andrew looked at Howard Geoffrey, his gaze seemed yearning, "Daddy, Mommy..."
Perhaps these terms were too familiar to him, Andrew uttered them unexpectedly.
Howard Geoffrey was about to reply, but Mrs. Geoffrey preemptively spoke, "My poor little grandson, you’ll soon have a stepmother. Perhaps you should pray that after Grandma passes away, your stepmother won’t secretly bully you."
"Mom, what are you saying!"
Mrs. Geoffrey shot Howard Geoffrey a disapproving look, "It’s all your fault; I created such a great opportunity for you, yet you outright pushed Becca away. Now, don’t expect Mom to forgive you; your son will not forgive you when he grows up either!"
Howard Geoffrey smiled cryptically, "Mom, haven’t you always supported my relationship with Alice Robinson?"
"I’ve never wanted to meddle in your personal affairs. The only time I intervened with Becca was because of Becca’s background. Now that the previous generation’s grievances have passed, I naturally want you to be with my grandson’s mother, as it’s the best for my grandson... But since you said you no longer care about my grandson’s mother, I have no words for you. But I must remind you, what I care about is my eldest grandson. No matter how many children you may have with Alice, don’t let my Andrew be wronged; regarding inheritance, he should receive at least two-thirds..."
Howard Geoffrey’s elegant face retained a smile, using a child’s tone he spoke to Andrew, "Son, your Grandma is already planning your future. She’s not even caring about her own son anymore."
"It’s not that I don’t care, I simply can’t... Look at you, back from Y City and you’ve been in France with Alice continuously. Do you even still have me, your mother, and your son in your heart?"
"Mom, take a deep breath; don’t make yourself sick from anger."
"Mom’s old bones, even if they’re sick from anger, it’s just an early entry into the grave; it’s no big deal."
Realizing that Mrs. Geoffrey was genuinely upset this time, Howard Geoffrey smiled and comforted her, "Mom, you mustn’t let yourself get sick from anger. Who will take care of your grandson later?"
"Having Andrew is enough for me."
Howard Geoffrey smirked lightly, "Just Andrew alone would be too lonely."
"Lonely is lonely; I don’t want Andrew to have too many half-siblings, lest the household be in chaos."
Howard Geoffrey just smiled and kept silent, not continuing the topic.
As long as Howard Geoffrey was home, Andrew usually slept in Howard Geoffrey’s room.
At the moment, Howard Geoffrey gently laid the already sleeping Andrew, who was nestled in his arms, on the bed.
Returning to the bed, Andrew continued sleeping soundly, murmuring, "Ma...my..."
Howard Geoffrey sat on the edge of the bed, gazing intently at the child’s innocent face. Abruptly, he reached out to stroke the child’s forehead, bending down to give him a kiss.
Seeing the child sleeping peacefully, Howard Geoffrey finally stood up, loosening his tie and shirt buttons.
As he prepared to shower, a knocking sound came from outside the room.
Stretching his hand to open the door, it turned out to be, as he had expected, Mrs. Geoffrey.
"Andrew asleep?" Mrs. Geoffrey asked in a small voice.
"Mm, just fell asleep."
"Mom has a few words to discuss with you..."
"Alright."
Howard Geoffrey exited the room, gently closing the door.
Mrs. Geoffrey first sighed before speaking, "Mom originally didn’t want to tell you this, but I’m afraid tomorrow will be difficult..."
"Mm?"
"I don’t know if it’s a coincidence or fate, but you came back today, and Becca is flying from T City to New York tonight."
Howard Geoffrey narrowed his eyes slightly, the depth of his gaze growing intense.
Mrs. Geoffrey added, "Don’t worry, she’s not coming to see you; she’s on a business trip to New York. I called her and asked her to visit Andrew while she’s here. Of course, I didn’t know you were coming back today, so I told her you were away."
Howard Geoffrey maintained his silence.
Mrs. Geoffrey sighed again, "She’s now afraid to avoid you like the plague. I also don’t want the two of you to meet awkwardly. So for the next few days while she visits, you should stay in the city. I intend to invite her to stay at home for a few days!"
"No problem."
"Then stay for one night, and leave tomorrow morning..."
"Mm." 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
"There’s another thing—I must reproach you for."
Howard Geoffrey’s brows furrowed slightly.
Mrs. Geoffrey regarded Howard Geoffrey coldly, "Christine Quinn called me today. She said she originally wanted to call you directly, but due to the matter with Becca, she now doesn’t want to talk to you much either... She told me about Alice ’bullying’ Becca, so I specifically looked up the news. Son, haven’t you gone a bit too far?"
