Contract Marriage: Abusive Love with Mr.CEO-Chapter 476 - 251: Playing the Fool to Outsmart the Wise 3
Mrs. Geoffrey patted Rebecca Quentin’s hand, then left.
After a brief moment, Mrs. Geoffrey returned with items for the baby. Fearing she might wake Andrew, she didn’t say much to Rebecca Quentin and only reminded her that when Andrew wakes, he should be fed, telling her to remember to prepare milk for him.
Of course, Rebecca Quentin took note, then saw Mrs. Geoffrey out.
After Mrs. Geoffrey left, Rebecca Quentin climbed into bed, leaned against the headboard, and watched contentedly over the sleeping Andrew.
His long eyelashes, tiny nose, and small mouth formed a bundle of childlike innocence and cuteness that made her reluctant to turn her gaze away for even a second.
Adjusting Andrew’s blanket, Rebecca Quentin hopped off the bed and walked into the bathroom.
She quickly showered and returned to bed, seeing Andrew sleeping sweetly, she lay down beside him.
Tonight, she didn’t want to sleep at all; she wanted to gaze at Andrew all night...
Unfortunately, despite her excitement, the fatigue of the day soon made Rebecca Quentin drowsy...
Rebecca Quentin was awakened by Andrew’s restless and turning movements.
Upon rising, seeing Andrew rubbing his sleepy eyes, Rebecca Quentin quickly jumped out of bed and hurried to prepare milk for Andrew.
Rebecca Quentin was thankful that when she returned to bed with the bottle, Andrew was simply looking around curiously with his large, clear eyes at this unfamiliar environment, not crying.
Rebecca Quentin promptly picked up Andrew and brought the bottle’s nipple to his mouth.
Andrew began to suck gently, looking up at Rebecca Quentin with innocent, round eyes.
Rebecca Quentin bent down and kissed Andrew, speaking in a childlike voice, "Andrew, it’s Mommy, can you recognize Mommy?"
Andrew looked at Rebecca Quentin’s eyes with unfamiliarity, yet he didn’t look away, continuing to suck on the bottle while staring at Rebecca Quentin unblinkingly.
Rebecca Quentin thought Andrew had recognized her, but barely a few seconds later, he stopped sucking and pouted.
Seeing the glimmering wetness brewing in her son’s dark eyes, Rebecca Quentin hurriedly lifted him up, soothing him beside the bed.
"Andrew, be good, it’s Mommy, Mommy isn’t a bad person."
To Andrew’s confused eyes, Rebecca Quentin was just a stranger, so as she tried to calm him, he burst into loud tears.
Rebecca Quentin seemed lost, trying to cheer him up using past comforting methods with Andrew, but he continued to cry sadly.
In the end, Rebecca Quentin had to say to Andrew, "Let’s go find Grandma now, shall we?"
Andrew understood the word "Grandma," and his crying gradually weakened.
Rebecca Quentin coaxed, "Finish the milk, and then Mommy’ll take you to Grandma."
It seemed the little guy understood Rebecca Quentin’s words, his tear-soaked and shining eyes innocently watched her, as if promising he would be good.
Rebecca Quentin picked up the bottle again, feeding Andrew anew.
Andrew obediently started sucking the nipple, his two grape-like eyes still intently fixed on Rebecca Quentin.
Rebecca Quentin could feel a hint of wariness in the child’s gaze directed at her, and the next moment, tears filled her own eyes...
She never imagined that her child would one day see her as a stranger...
Thinking about the hardships of giving birth to Andrew, Rebecca Quentin’s tears began to flow uncontrollably...
Perhaps it was Rebecca Quentin’s sobs that softened Andrew’s gaze, for the fear he felt upon seeing a stranger faded...
Rebecca Quentin didn’t notice Andrew’s change, immersed in her sorrow and sense of loss.
It wasn’t until much later that Rebecca Quentin came to herself, and to her surprise, found that Andrew had fallen asleep in her arms...
Andrew had fallen asleep while holding the bottle, still sucking the nipple even in sleep.
Rebecca Quentin felt a measure of comfort, quickly turning her tears into smiles.
Carefully removing the bottle from Andrew’s little hand, Rebecca Quentin gently placed him back onto the bed.
Andrew wriggled a bit, then nestled into the blanket and fell asleep obediently.
That recent feeling of falling into despair was swiftly transformed into joy, giving her solace that took her back to happiness. Rebecca Quentin adjusted the blankets and lay down with contentment beside Andrew.
Lying on her side, Rebecca Quentin tenderly watched Andrew’s peacefully sleeping profile.
The little one looked so adorable asleep!
Not wanting to leave Andrew for even a second, all of Rebecca Quentin’s drowsiness disappeared, wishing to spend one more moment gazing at her child.
