Chapter 416: Chapter 221: A Brand New Beginning

Even Rebecca Quentin couldn’t have imagined that her visit to the hospital with Howard Geoffrey would become their last meeting...

She also didn’t expect time to fly by like a fleeting horse, and in the blink of an eye, half a year had passed.

Sunlight filtered through the heavy curtains, spilling into the room...

The light stimulated Rebecca Quentin’s eyelids. She murmured softly, lazily turned over, wanting to sleep a bit more, but suddenly realizing something, she abruptly opened her eyes.

Jumping out of bed in her pajamas, she glanced at the alarm clock on the bedside table and immediately rushed into the bathroom.

After quickly washing up, she dashed out of the bathroom and swiftly changed clothes: white blouse, pencil skirt, earrings...

She had just put on one earring when the sound of a doorbell rang.

Rebecca Quentin, while putting on the other earring, walked towards the door.

Opening the door and seeing the visitor, Rebecca Quentin’s face lit up with joy, immediately relaxing, "You’re really just in time, I’m almost late, please give me a ride!"

Chester Robinson, holding breakfast, glanced at his wristwatch, "Isn’t there still time?"

"Once you’re here, there’s enough time. Without you, I might be late!" Saying this, Rebecca Quentin went into the room to grab her coat and briefcase. "Let’s go!"

Last night I slept too late. I was just thinking I missed the bus schedule. I wasn’t sure if I could catch a ride. If I couldn’t, it would be a disaster today.

Chester Robinson handed Rebecca Quentin the breakfast, "There’s still plenty of time; eat breakfast before leaving!"

Rebecca Quentin then noticed the fragrant breakfast in Chester’s hand and smiled, asking, "Did you buy it for me?"

Chester nodded, "I just got back from my shift at the hospital. I was worried you wouldn’t make it to work, so I bought it for you."

Rebecca Quentin’s hungry stomach growled, but she could only mutter, "I wish I had the time to eat; I overslept. If I don’t leave for the office now, I will surely be late..."

"Eat it in the car!"

"Really?" Rebecca Quentin’s eyes sparkled, "Aren’t you the one who hates any smells in the car the most?"

"Well, are you going to eat or not?"

"Eat." Rebecca Quentin happily accepted the breakfast from Chester’s hand.

After finishing the sandwich and drinking the hot milk, Rebecca Quentin contentedly leaned against the seat of the co-driver’s side, "I’m so full..."

Chester, glancing at Rebecca Quentin through the rearview mirror, smiled slightly.

Rebecca Quentin turned her face and gratefully said, "Doctor Robinson, I’m making trouble for you again, delaying your rest. I’m truly sorry."

Chester said calmly, "I’ll take you back, and then it won’t be too late for me to sleep."

Rebecca Quentin sighed, "Having you as a neighbor is really a blessing. How come you ended up renting next door to me?"

"If I said I deliberately rented next door to you, would you believe me?"

"I don’t believe it. Why would you rent next to me?"

"Thinking about the meal you owe me..."

Rebecca Quentin awkwardly muttered, "I’m really sorry; if you didn’t bring it up today, I would’ve forgotten already..."

Chester Robinson smiled elegantly.

"But I genuinely want to find a time to treat you to a meal. But I just paid the rent this month and don’t have money now. I’ll treat you to a feast after I get paid in a few days. After all, you introduced me to this job, and I haven’t properly thanked you yet."

Chester still just smiled.

Rebecca Quentin saw the company ahead, quickly put on her coat.

Chester Robinson pulled the car to a stop by the roadside.

Rebecca Quentin got out of the car with the briefcase, smiling and waving to Chester, "Thank you."

Chester rolled down the car window, reminded, "If working late tonight, give me a call. I don’t need to go to the hospital today."

Rebecca Quentin nodded.

Only then did Chester drive away.

Rebecca Quentin was about to turn and walk towards the company but suddenly felt a pat on her shoulder.

Rebecca Quentin was startled. Seeing the person who leaped from behind her, she patted her chest, "Miss Holmes, you scared me to death."

Nicolette Holmes glanced at the car that had already driven away, "Is that your boyfriend?"

"Who?"

"That handsome guy who rolled down the car window just now, I even heard him gently remind you."

Rebecca Quentin turned and headed towards the hospital, answering, "No, he’s a doctor. He’s my next-door neighbor, and since I overslept today, I asked him to help me get to the company."

Nicolette Holmes trotted in her twelve-inch high heels, caught up with Rebecca Quentin’s pace, exclaiming, "Wow, where do people find such handsome neighbors? How come I don’t have such luck?"

Rebecca Quentin jokingly replied, "Be content. The flowers in your office never stop coming. The guys who’ve surrendered to Lady Holmes’s beauty and charm are already as numerous as fish crossing the river; you’ve seen all kinds of excellence."
