Chapter 210: Chapter 210: Do You Think Summer Lowell Is Faking Her Amnesia?

"Did you see it wrong?" Mrs. Huxley clearly didn’t believe what she said, "I know you have issues with Miss Lowell, but you can’t just say anything recklessly!"

"Mom, is that really how you see me?" Tina Huxley felt a surge of grievance, "I saw it with my own eyes, how could it be false?"

"Alright, alright, I believe you," Mrs. Huxley patted her hand, not very sincerely, "So what did Justin say?"

"I don’t know. I messaged him, and he just replied that he got it. Later, Summer Lowell received a phone call and came with me here together. I guess Justin also believes it."

"If what you said is true, then Miss Lowell is indeed somewhat out of line. Just now, I heard your father and the old man discussing making Justin and Miss Lowell’s wedding grander."

"Really?" Tina sat up straight, pressing Mrs. Huxley, "Didn’t they say this was..."

Mrs. Huxley quickly covered her mouth, casting a sharp glance toward the door, signaling her that the walls have ears.

Tina understood, got up and walked to the door, checked around, locked it securely, and sat back down, lowering her voice: "Isn’t this supposed to be a setup? Why is it becoming real?"

Mrs. Huxley also lowered her voice significantly: "The old man and your father both think that Justin seems to genuinely like Miss Lowell. He’s made such a big contribution to the family business, so let him marry someone he likes. There’s no need for an arranged marriage."

In truth, the reality of the matter was not as she described.

After Justin snatched The Bluegate Project from Aevum Group, Mr. Huxley was pleased, but also became wary of Justin.

He feared that Justin might, like Julian, grow ambitious and start fighting for family property over time.

Tina’s brothers and sisters weren’t cut out for business; they relied on money to get into art schools abroad.

Tina herself was even less concerned with business, her mind full of romance.

Mr. and Mrs. Huxley’s youngest son, three years younger than Tina, was also abroad. Among their four children, the youngest seemed the brightest, but he was too young and not yet influential.

If someday Justin’s ambition truly grew, Mr. Huxley’s youngest son would stand no chance against him.

Mrs. Huxley looked at the naive expression in Tina’s eyes, suppressing the urge to speak.

Mr. Huxley had instructed her a few nights ago never to let slip anything in front of Tina.

Otherwise, with Tina’s capabilities, it would be too easy for Justin to discover Mr. Huxley’s plans.

After growing wary of Justin, Mr. Huxley thought of pairing him with Summer Lowell, hoping the pretense would turn real.

Firstly, Summer came from an ordinary background, though she had a good education and some ability, her origins wouldn’t help Justin’s career.

Moreover, Summer and Maxim Sinclair had countless ties, if this marriage truly happened, Justin and Maxim would become mortal enemies.

By that time, Justin would have no choice but to obediently work for him.

"Didn’t you previously get along well with Justin? He got Miss Lowell, you have one less rival, he’s helping you!"

"I’m afraid that if Summer marries in, she’ll cheat on him. Look at her, even with amnesia she’s entangled with Maxim Sinclair. Who knows what will happen if she regains her memory?"

Tina’s mind suddenly lit up: "Do you think she’s remembered something already, maybe she’s pretending? That’s why she’s not living here and moved out, even got involved with Maxim. Something feels off."

"For a girl from an ordinary family, adopted twice and abandoned twice, isn’t it normal for her to be unaccustomed to the atmosphere of a rich family? From what I observe, she seems like someone with her own ideas, what’s strange about wanting to move out if she’s unused to living here?"

Mrs. Huxley didn’t find it suspicious.

Tina still felt something was wrong: "She has a history, do you think she’s being manipulated by Maxim Sinclair, lurking around my brother to steal confidential information? Didn’t my brother recently snatch a major project from Maxim Sinclair?"

"She has no access to any secret information around Justin, you’re overthinking."

Unrelenting, Tina waited until the evening when Mr. Huxley was in his study and took the opportunity of delivering fruits to probe for information.

By her expression, Mr. Huxley knew she was not there for nothing.

"I heard you had another fallout with Miss Lowell? Are you here to complain?"

"Who said that? Am I the type to complain every few days!" Tina playfully retorted, placing the fruit at Mr. Huxley’s side, "I specially cut this for you."

"Not bad, quite considerate, raising you wasn’t in vain," Mr. Huxley smiled kindly, setting down his pen, complimenting her as he ate the fruit.

Tina stood by, her eyes darting around, chatting about this and that, before steering the conversation to what concerned her most: "I heard from Mom that you and Grandpa are planning to hold a grand wedding for Justin and that Miss Lowell?"

Mr. Huxley nodded: "I see Justin seems to like her a lot. Our family doesn’t need him to marry into another for alliances. If he wants to marry someone he likes, then let him. Besides, he’s helped me so much, I ought to help him plan a grand wedding."

From his tone, this decision seemed set in stone, with no room for change.

Tina was displeased but dared not show it. She said a few more irrelevant things before leaving the study.

...

"Please come in, Miss Lowell, Mrs. Huxley and Miss Tina have been waiting for you a long time."

Summer Lowell smiled and nodded at the butler of The Huxley Residence, following the path towards the back garden.

In the back garden, Tina, who was chatting cheerfully with Mrs. Huxley, keenly noticed Summer’s figure, stood up, and waved her arm to greet her.

Mrs. Huxley reproached her behavior, turning to look towards the garden entrance.

Seeing Tina, who rarely greeted her so warmly, Summer was full of suspicion but suppressed her curiosity, walked over: "Hello Aunt Huxley, hello Miss Tina."

"We’re all family, no need to be so formal," Mrs. Huxley smiled as she stood, affectionately pulling Summer to sit on a chair beside her. She then pretentiously scolded Tina, "You child, show some respect, your sister-in-law is greeting you, hurry up and rise."

Tina rolled her eyes, stood up, and warmly sat beside Summer: "Sister-in-law, I’m sorry to make you come here in such hot weather."

"It’s alright, it’s not too hot today, there’s a breeze, and it’s quite cool," Summer subtly avoided Tina’s uncomfortable proximity, "You sounded urgent on the phone, what do you need me for?"
