Consequences of Dumping the Obsessive Boss: Stuck with Him Forever-Chapter 195: Summer Lowell Faints in Front of Maxim Sinclair
After spending some time, Summer Lowell spotted a restroom ahead and decided to go in with the hope of running into Tina Huxley.
She didn’t want to keep lingering outside. If it didn’t work out, she planned to leave early.
But there was no sign of Tina Huxley inside at all.
As she exited after washing her hands, Summer was suddenly pulled into a corner by an outstretched hand.
When she steadied herself and saw who it was, she was so frightened that her face lost all color.
Maxim Sinclair looked at her reaction, frowning unhappily: "Why are you so afraid when you see me?"
"I’m not," Summer denied flatly, "You appeared so suddenly, that’s why I looked startled, nothing else."
"Really?" Maxim approached slowly, disbelief written all over his face, "Knowing Justin Huxley, I’m sure he’s said bad things about me in front of you. Since he’s not in Stellarion now, why don’t we have a chat?"
"What is there to talk about? We don’t seem that familiar with each other," Summer discreetly observed their surroundings, preparing to slip away at the next chance.
Maxim, towering above her, easily guessed her thoughts: "This place is full of my people, there’s no point in trying to escape. Come with me quietly, let’s talk."
"Isn’t this inappropriate, President Sinclair? Don’t forget, I’m Justin Huxley’s fiancée."
Before she finished her sentence, Maxim suddenly grabbed her chin, whispering through gritted teeth by her ear: "Considering you’ve lost your memory, I won’t hold it against you for saying that, but remember one thing clearly: you and Justin Huxley were never a couple. The one you love should be me, understand?"
Summer looked up into his eyes, overwhelmed by the deep emotions she found there, leaving her utterly bewildered.
After a long pause, she murmured slowly: "I’m sorry, but I have no memory of you. Could you let me go? It hurts!" 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
This seemed to touch a nerve with Maxim Sinclair.
Maxim unwillingly released his grip, then gently touched Summer’s chin, a bit regretful: "I didn’t mean to hurt you. It’s just that what you said made me really angry."
"But wasn’t what I said the truth? You just attended my engagement party with Justin a few days ago. As the head of such a big corporation, you can’t have a memory that bad, right, President Sinclair?"
"I have a very good memory, always have," Maxim gently cupped her face, his gaze filled with obsession and relief, "I’m just glad you’re okay. You have no idea how scared I was when I heard you fell into the sea. I still dream about it, about you struggling in the water and blaming me for not saving you."
Summer’s long lashes blinked slowly.
The man in front of her spoke with such earnestness and sadness; there was no trace of falsehood. Standing before this obviously love-stricken man, she was momentarily dazed.
This face, those eyes filled with deep feelings, seemed strangely familiar.
Was he telling the truth?
Was he the one she loved, not Justin Huxley?
But...
Summer suddenly covered her head with her hands, bending over in pain.
Maxim was frightened by her reaction, crouching down in panic: "What’s wrong? Is it a headache? Do you need to go to the hospital? Summer, are you okay?"
Just then, Tina Huxley ducked under the arms of the bodyguard blocking her, rushing to Summer’s side and embracing her: "Sister-in-law, are you okay?"
Maxim looked at Tina, who had suddenly appeared and ruined his plans, and grabbed her arm, warning her through gritted teeth: "Don’t say anything stupid. Summer is not your sister-in-law; she has nothing to do with your brother!"
Tina was about to retort, but Summer fainted from the headache before she could speak.
Seeing this, Maxim swiftly pulled Tina away and then picked up Summer, who had fallen to the ground, shouting to the approaching Assistant Collins: "Take her to the hospital immediately."
Having been deliberately left behind, Tina frantically called Justin Huxley.
Upon hearing the news from faraway Cantova, Justin promptly contacted Vivian Sullivan at Mercy Hospital.
He briefed her on Summer’s situation in just a few words.
As expected, Maxim did take Summer to Mercy Hospital.
Dr. Jacobs happened to be at the hospital today, and after personally checking Summer’s condition, he found Maxim, who was anxiously waiting outside: "No need to worry, President Sinclair. Miss Lowell’s condition isn’t serious."
"Why did she suddenly faint today? Did she regain her memory and couldn’t handle the shock, causing her to faint?"
"From Miss Lowell’s brain CT scan, there is no damage to her brain. You mentioned she lost her memory; I suspect it was due to significant emotional trauma. As for whether her memory has returned, we’ll have to wait until she wakes up to know for sure."
Dr. Jacobs didn’t dare make any guarantees, knowing how important Summer was to Maxim Sinclair as his private doctor.
Precisely because he knew, he dared not make any reckless assurances.
While the two men were talking, Vivian Sullivan also arrived.
Along with her came Charles Jenson.
When Justin Huxley called Vivian, Charles happened to be with her.
Charles, seeing the situation, wanted to greet Maxim Sinclair with Vivian.
Vivian, however, did not want to deal with Maxim and directly pushed open the door to check on Summer.
Charles awkwardly smiled and apologized to Maxim for Vivian: "She was just anxious about Summer’s accident, nothing else."
"Do you know who called her?" Maxim asked, already knowing the answer.
Sure enough.
"Justin Huxley," Charles replied.
Maxim snorted coldly: "I knew it was him, always haunting us."
Charles looked through the glass door to check inside before turning back to Maxim: "What’s going on exactly? Should we consider forced treatment to help Summer recover her memory? Justin’s actions are clearly taking advantage of the situation!"
Maxim was silent for a moment, then said: "Let’s wait for her to wake up and see what she wants to do."
"But aren’t you legally married?"
Charles couldn’t understand Maxim’s current stance, would he just stand by as someone else intruded on his relationship?
"And what’s going on with you? Did you and Dr. Sullivan come up together or just happen to meet?"
Maxim changed the subject to avoid answering.
Charles, taking the hint, started talking about his situation: "I was with her when Justin called."
"Move quickly," Maxim patted his shoulder, "settle it soon."
